En esta tesis se analizará los discursos que han utilizado La República y el Comercio al cubrir el mismo tema: protestas por el proyecto Tía María en el año 2019, para construir la imagen de los protestantes. Para evidenciar qué postura ideológica ha tomado cada diario se ha realizado un análisis profundo y exhaustivo sobre la redacción, el empleo de imágenes y videos en ambos medios. Asimismo, es necesario indicar que Van Dijk define a los periodistas como agentes de poder, ya que tienen la responsabilidad de ejercer la libertad de expresión mediante la realización de noticias, las cuales son tomadas como un hecho verídico que no necesita de verificación, pues se considera que los periodistas han verificado las fuentes y la información publicada. En el caso del diario El Comercio, las noticias construyen la culpabilidad de una de las partes involucradas: los manifestantes, y esto se ha comprobado porque en diversas publicaciones de sus noticias, el periodista coloca adjetivos denigrantes para referirse a las personas que no están de acuerdo con el proyecto de Tía María. El discurso es un canal, y el periodismo es uno de los encargados de brindar información a los ciudadanos, por tanto es importante que esta sea transparente, veraz y objetivo; sin embargo, se ha podido visualizar que debido a las culturas, pensamientos, intereses ideológicos, el diario El Comercio no ha logrado la objetividad en sus publicaciones mientras que el diario La República trata de aproximarse a la objetividad. / On this thesis we will analyze the speeches that have been given by the media in platforms like La República and El Comercio, both regarding the same topic: the protests caused by the Tia Maria´s project in 2019. To provide the ideological position that each newspaper has taken, a deep and thoroughly analysis about the redaction, application of images an videos in both platforms has been done. Moreover, it is necessary to highlight that Van Dijk describes journalists as power brokers, since they have the responsibility of pursuing the liberty of expression by performing the news, which are considered as an upstanding fact that has no verification needed as it is estimated that the journalists have appealed and checked their references and information. Regarding the newspaper “El Comercio”, the articles turn complicated, building the guiltiness of one of the sections involved: the protesters, and this has been tested because in their diverse list of publications, the journalist uses denigrating adjectives and prejudiced labels for describing those who are against the Tia Maria project. Speeches are a forum, and journalism is responsible of spreading information for the citizens, so they keep knowledge; however it is important to keep it candid, truthful and objective, but we perceive that because of cultures, thoughts, ideological absorptions, “El Comercio” has not reached objectivity in their platform, while “La República” is looking forward to it. / Trabajo de investigación

Previous issue date: 2014-10-31 / This work broaches the process of creation and implantation of Federal Institutes of Education, Science and Technology (FIs) as an integral part of educational policies faced to the expansion of the Higher Level Education in Brazil, during the period of 2003-2012. Besides theoretical studies related to the literature revision and analysis of documents, the present research availed of empirical data obtained from a case study accomplished in Federal Institute Catarinense – Campus Rio do Sul, which were submitted a qualitative analysis. The questions that led the elaboration of this thesis express of the following way: if the federal government intended to contribute to the enlargement of the vacancies in the public segment of the Higher Level Educational – especially of the teacher formation courses – without to give up of the connection between research and extension, because it chose to trust this mission to the newly-created Federal Institutes, contrary to keep it under the responsibility of the federal universities, that are reference in the attendance of this kind of request? The present thesis considers the presupposed that, in face of the difficulties that the capital system has found to do with the federal universities resign to their demands more immediate, the re-structuration of the Federal Network manifests itself in the effectivity of an alternated institutional pattern, based on the expectancy of that the Federal Institutions could adapt themselves more easily to these requests. This investigation has as general purpose to analysis the creation and the implantation of Federal Institute Catarinense – Campus Rio do Sul, with the intent to verify the features of this new institutional identity, especially in that it refers to the triad teaching-researching-extension and the links established with the clusters. The particular objectives are as follows: to make explicit what were the characteristics that determined the institutional identity of the old Federal Agrotechnical School of Rio do Sul and the type of linking that this Institution established with the activities of researching and extension; to identify, from the analysis of empirical data, the elements that express the particular forms that the process of “ifetização” assumed in the case of FIC – Campus Rio do Sul, especially those that bond to the attendance of the requests of the clusters and the articulation between the activities of teaching, researching and extension; to analysis the documents that regulated and directed the process of conception and creation of Federal Institutes; to make evident the results of the theses and dissertations about Federal Institutes and the expansion of the Higher Level Educational in Brazil, in order to make explicit the aspects that happen again and turning them universal in more extensive context of these policies; to carry out a historic survey of the genesis and the development of the integral institutions of the Federal Network, as well as of Brazilian universities, so as to identify the similarities and differences that established between these institutions of education, especially in that refers its social function and in the degree of the autonomy that they present in respect to the immediate interests of the capital. This investigation is directed from Marxist epistemological perspective, articulating elements of Marx and Gramsci’s works to the examination of the object investigated. / Este trabalho aborda o processo de criação e implantação dos Institutos Federais de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia (IFs) enquanto parte integrante das políticas educacionais voltadas à expansão do Ensino Superior no Brasil, durante o período 2003-2012. Além de estudos teóricos relacionados à revisão de literatura e análise de documentos, a presente pesquisa se valeu de dados empíricos obtidos por meio de um estudo de caso realizado no Instituto Federal Catarinense – Campus Rio do Sul, os quais foram analisados a partir de uma abordagem qualitativa. Os questionamentos que conduziram à elaboração desta tese se traduzem da seguinte maneira: se o governo federal pretendia contribuir para a ampliação das vagas no segmento público de Educação Superior – especialmente das licenciaturas – sem abrir mão de um ensino indissociado da pesquisa e da extensão, por que optou por confiar esta missão aos recém-criados Institutos Federais, ao invés de mantê-la sob a responsabilidade das universidades federais, que são referência no atendimento deste tipo de demanda? A presente tese considera o pressuposto de que, diante das dificuldades que o sistema do capital tem encontrado para fazer com que as universidades federais se conformem às suas demandas mais imediatas, a reestruturação da Rede Federal traduziu-se na efetivação de um modelo institucional alternativo, baseado na expectativa de que os Institutos Federais poderiam ajustar-se mais facilmente a estas demandas. A investigação teve como objetivo geral analisar a criação e a implantação do IFC – Campus Rio do Sul, com vistas a verificar as características desta nova identidade institucional, sobretudo no que se refere à tríade ensino-pesquisa-extensão e aos vínculos estabelecidos com os arranjos produtivos locais. Os objetivos específicos foram os seguintes: explicitar quais eram as características que determinavam a identidade institucional da antiga Escola Agrotécnica Federal de Rio do Sul e o tipo de vinculação que esta Instituição estabelecia com as atividades de pesquisa e de extensão; identificar, a partir da análise de dados empíricos, os elementos que expressam as formas particulares que o processo de “ifetização” assumiu no caso do IFC – Campus Rio do Sul, sobretudo aqueles que se vinculam ao atendimento das demandas dos arranjos produtivos locais e a articulação entre as atividades de ensino, de pesquisa e de extensão; analisar os documentos que regulamentaram e orientaram o processo de concepção e criação dos Institutos Federais; evidenciar os resultados das teses e dissertações produzidas sobre os Institutos Federais e a expansão da Educação Superior no Brasil, a fim de explicitar os aspectos que se repetem e se tornam universais no contexto mais amplo destas políticas; realizar um levantamento histórico da gênese e do desenvolvimento das instituições integrantes da Rede Federal, bem como das universidades federais brasileiras, de modo a identificar as semelhanças e diferenças que se estabeleceram entre estas instituições de ensino, especialmente no que tange à sua função social e ao grau de autonomia que apresentam em relação aos interesses imediatos do capital. Previous issue date: 2014 / Nenhuma / A Dissertação objetiva compreender a construção da nova institucionalidade do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Rio Grande do Sul (IFRS), tomando como base empírica a experiência da construção do documento que institui a Organização Didática (OD) da Instituição. Os autores que embasam o estudo são principalmente, Berger e Luckmann, Bernardo, De Deus e Lück. A metodologia adotada foi o estudo de caso, com auxílio de análise documental, pesquisa qualitativa e quantitativa, dividida em duas etapas, constituídas pelo levantamento dos dados e análise das informações, e aplicação de questionário a gestores e servidores, com foco na compreensão desses acerca do processo de construção da nova institucionalidade do IFRS. A investigação buscou identificar desafios, possibilidades e avanços na condução do processo de construção da institucionalidade. Além disso, descreveu o funcionamento do processo de construção da OD, e verificou se a metodologia proposta foi concebida na perspectiva da gestão democrática e participativa. Estudou o funcionamento de fóruns, comissões, comitês, regimentos, além das ações de gestão da Instituição, que constituíram elementos essenciais para identificar as dificuldades ou caminhos viáveis para a formação da nova identidade institucional. A investigação, através de questões de pesquisa, apontou que um dos grandes desafios na construção da nova institucionalidade tem sido a pouca participação da comunidade acadêmica, além disso, a estrutura multicâmpus, a história e as práticas sedimentadas configuram barreiras à nova identidade. Como resultado verificou a propriedade do método proposto na construção do documento, que foi indicado como possibilidade para outros temas institucionais. O estudo concluiu que a construção da nova institucionalidade se constitui como um processo, mas que deu um passo significativo a partir da construção da OD. Reafirmou que o caminho para a consolidação identitária passa obrigatoriamente pela participação, construção coletiva e gestão democrática. / The goal of this essay is to understand the construction of a new institutional framework of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Sul (IFRS), taking as empirical basis the experience of building process of the document that establishes the Teaching Organization (OD) of the Institution. The authors that underlies this study are mainly Berger and Luckmann, Bernardo, De Deus and Lück. The methodology used was the case study, with the help of document analysis, qualitative and quantitative research, divided into two stages, consisting of the collection of data and information analysis, and questionnaire to managers and staff, focusing on understanding of these about the process of building the new institutional framework of IFRS. The research sought to identify challenges, opportunities and advances in the conduction of the institutional construction process. Furthermore, it described the operation of the OD building process, and verified if the proposed methodology was designed from the perspective of democratic and participatory management. It also studied the functioning boards, commissions, committees, regulations, besides the management actions of the institution, which were key elements to identify the difficulties or viable paths for the formation of the new institutional identity. The research through research questions pointed out that one of the major challenges in building of this new institution has been the lack of participation of the academic community. Besides that, the multi-campus structure, history and sedimented practices constitute some of the barriers to this new identity. As a result this study verified the convenience and relevance of the proposed method for the construction of the document, which was indicated as a possibility for other institutional issues. This study concluded that the construction of the new institutional framework is a continuum, but it was a significant step from this process on. It also reassured that the path for the identity consolidation necessarily involves participation, collective construction and democratic management.

Mergers in higher education : towards a survival kit for conserving the selfFourie, Mattheus Eduard 10 1900 (has links)
Mergers and incorporations are relatively new phenomena in the South African
higher education landscape. The unbundling of Vista University, and the subsequent
incorporation ofVUDEC into the merger between Unisa and TSA, posed a major
challenge to all affected employees. This thesis focuses on how these employees
experienced the various stages of the incorporation process. A social construction of
inner and outer voices heard, shared, and read during the different phases of the
incorporation process attempts to describe how to conserve the self in a merger. The
aim of the thesis is to build towards a framework for dealing with the human aspect
during institutional mergers and incorporations. The thesis consists of a prologue, a
series of four manuscripts that report on the experiences of employees during the
different phases of the merger process, and an epilogue. Each manuscript focuses on
a specific phase or aspect of the incorporation process, with its own research focus,
aims, and methodology.
The first two manuscripts reflect on the pre-merger phase. The first manuscript
reports on employees' preparation for the incorporation. Following a social
constructionist grounded theory approach, four participating employees gained the
opportunity to reflect on their own experiences of well-being during the pre-merger
phase. The manuscript also reports on a wellness development workshop, attended by
35 representatives from various departments and units of Vista University during the
pre-merger phase.
The second manuscript reports on how employees embraced the VUDEC
institutional culture. A case study approach was selected for semi-structured
interviews with 17 participants from governance, academic and administrative
departments, and post-graduate programmes. By means of content analysis, the
institutional culture ofVUDEC was captured on the eve of the incorporation into
Unisa.
The third manuscript focuses on employees' experiences of the four-year transition
and implementation phases of the incorporation. This manuscript follows a social
identity approach, and through thematic analysis, reports on how 24 participants
experienced the four-year implementation of the incorporation process.
The fourth manuscript provides an overview of the human side of mergers as
depicted in both national and international literature. The aim is to position the
current longitudinal investigation and its findings in the broader higher education

RelaÃÃo entre rendimento acadÃmico, polÃticas de cotas e assistÃncia estudantil em Campi do interior da Universidade Federal do CearÃLinnik Israel Lima Teixeira 00 December 2018 (has links)
nÃo hà / Esta pesquisa verificou o rendimento de estudantes universitÃrios
apÃs a implantaÃÃo da polÃtica pÃblica de cotas nas universidades
federais. O estudo analisou o desempenho dos estudantes beneficiados
pelas cotas, dos estudantes beneficiados por polÃticas de assistÃncia
estudantil e dos estudantes que ingressaram pela ampla concorrÃncia.
O estudo à composto pelos estudantes dos cursos de graduaÃÃo da Ãrea
de informÃtica nos Campi de CrateÃs, Quixadà e Russas, abrangendo
dez cursos de graduaÃÃo nos semestres 2014.1, 2014.2 e 2015.1. Para
atender aos objetivos, o referencial teÃrico foi organizado visando
explicar o conceito e evoluÃÃo das polÃticas afirmativas no Brasil e
no mundo e, por fim, a convergÃncia das polÃticas afirmativas na
educaÃÃo superior brasileira. A pesquisa, eminentemente descritiva
e documental, realizou, mediante mÃtodos estatÃsticos, uma anÃlise
comparativa de desempenho entre os grupos de interesse citados. Os
resultados indicaram que, quanto ao rendimento, foi constatado que
os alunos selecionados pela ampla concorrÃncia apresentam mÃdia
de rendimento maior que os cotistas (geral), os cotistas por renda e os
cotistas negros, porÃm o teste estatÃstico apontou que as diferenÃas
entre esses grupos nÃo apresentam significÃncia estatÃstica, de modo
que o desempenho desses grupos pode ser considerado semelhante.
Quantos aos estudantes beneficiados pela assistÃncia estudantil, foi
verificado que a mÃdia de rendimento desse grupo à maior que a dos
demais, no entanto, mais uma vez o teste indicou que essa diferenÃa
nÃo apresenta significÃncia estatÃstica, ou seja, o desempenho entre
esse grupo e os demais pode ser considerado semelhante. / This research aimed at verifying the performance of college students
following the establishment of these quotas in public federal
universities. We focused on newcomer students (2014.1, 2014. 2
and 2015.1) engaged in computer science studies from the CrateÃs,
Quixadà and Russas campi, covering a total of ten undergraduate
courses. We assessed the academic performance of individuals
allocated into three major groups: students admitted through the
quota program, students benefiting from federal assistance programs
and non-quota students, i.e., admitted through general admission.
Our theoretical framework was organized to explain the concept
and establishment of affirmative actions in Brazil and worldwide
and their convergence into the national undergraduate education
scenario. The research, predominantly descriptive and documentary,
conducted statistical analyses to compare the performance of the
aforementioned groups. The results indicated that students accepted
through general admission showed a higher average of academic
performance index (Ãndice de rendimento acadÃmico, IRA) when
compared to that from quota students, but this difference was not
deemed significant. Concerning students benefiting from federal
assistance programs, it was found that their averaged IRA was higher
than the other groups, but again it was not statistically significant.
Therefore, the performance of this group and the others is considered
similar

Pour un nationalisme inclusif au Québec : repenser l’interculturalisme dans le cadre de la conception de la reconnaissance des individus et des peuples de Michel SeymourNoël, Jean-Christophe 01 1900 (has links)
L’objectif principal de ce mémoire est de proposer un modèle d’intégration qui permettrait de concilier au Québec les deux impératifs que sont le besoin d’affirmation nationale et la reconnaissance du pluralisme. Nous croyons que le modèle interculturaliste développé au Québec et théorisé notamment par Gérard Bouchard constitue un bon point de départ, mais qu’il faut néanmoins ajuster le tir. L’approche de Bouchard est sociohistorique et culturelle. Or, c’est l’avenue politique qu’il faut selon nous emprunter. Pour que l’interculturalisme favorise le développement d’un nationalisme inclusif, il doit permettre de dégager un espace de citoyenneté spécifique au Québec. Puisque la nation québécoise est non souveraine, un tel espace de citoyenneté implique de reconnaître non seulement les individus, mais aussi le peuple. Il faut donc revoir les fondements philosophiques de l’interculturalisme pour que ce modèle soit en mesure de prendre en charge à la fois les droits individuels et les droits collectifs. Pour ce faire, nous devons nous tourner vers la conception de la reconnaissance des individus et des peuples développée par Michel Seymour. Le premier chapitre se veut une analyse et une synthèse de la conception de la reconnaissance de Seymour, qui s’inscrit dans le cadre du libéralisme politique développé par Rawls. Le deuxième chapitre vise à refonder l’interculturalisme dans les bases théoriques développées par Seymour. Nous commençons par défendre, avec Seymour, une conception sociopolitique de la nation québécoise, puis nous montrons que la possibilité d’un espace de citoyenneté spécifique au Québec est tributaire de la reconnaissance pleine et entière de la nation québécoise par l’État canadien englobant. Nous présentons ensuite l’interculturalisme dans sa version politique et examinons le modèle de laïcité développé par Seymour et Gosselin-Tapp en tant que cas de figure de ce modèle d’intégration. Refonder l’interculturalisme sur des bases politiques permet finalement de contribuer au débat opposant l’interculturalisme au multiculturalisme. L’interculturalisme se distingue du multiculturalisme en tant que modèle d’intégration permettant de dégager un espace de citoyenneté propre aux sociétés politiques non souveraines. Ce faisant, l’interculturalisme révèle un potentiel universel et se veut un modèle d’intégration fait sur mesure pour les nations sociopolitiques comme le Québec, l’Écosse ou la Catalogne. / The main objective of this essay is to propose a model for integration that could reconcile
Québec’s two imperatives that are the need for national assertion and the recognition of
pluralism. We believe that the interculturalism model, developed in Québec and theorized by
Gérard Bouchard especially, constitutes a good starting point. However, we need to make
adjustments. Bouchard’s approach is social, historical and cultural. Yet it is the political approach
we need to engage into. In order to stimulate the development of an inclusive nationalism,
interculturalism has to draw a citizenship space that is specific to Québec. Since the Québec
nation isn’t sovereign, such a citizenship space entails the recognition not only of individuals but
also of the nation itself. Hence it is necessary to review the philosophical roots of interculturalism
in order for it to take into account not only individual rights, but also collective rights. To do so,
we need to focus on Michel Seymour’s notion of recognition of individuals and nations. The first
chapter analyzes and summarizes Seymour’s notion of recognition, which is developed in the
framework of Rawl’s political liberalism. The second chapter aims to rebuild interculturalism on
Seymour’s theoretical bases. We begin by defending, with Seymour, the Québec nation as a
sociopolitical nation. We then defend that the possibility of a specific citizenship space for Québec
depends on the Canadian State’s recognition of the Québec nation. The following step consists in
elaborating the political version of interculturalism and then in examining the model of secularism
developed by Seymour and Gosselin-Tapp as resulting from it. Finally, rebuilding interculturalism
onto political bases enables to contribute to the debate between interculturalism and
multiculturalism. Interculturalism distinguishes itself from multiculturalism as an integration
model that draws specific citizenship spaces for non-sovereign political societies. In doing so,
interculturalism reveals a universal potential in constituing a tailored approach for sociopolitical
nations like Québec, Scotland or Catalonia.
