De gado a café: as ferrovias no sul de Minas Gerais (1874-1910) / From cattle to coffee: the railroads in the South of Minas Gerais state (1874-1910)

O presente trabalho tem como objetivo estudar três companhias férreas do sul da província e depois estado de Minas Gerais: E.F. Minas e Rio, Cia. Viação Férrea Sapucaí e Cia. E.F. Muzambinho, para entender, em termos de atividades econômicas, o que existia no Sul de Minas Gerais no advento de suas ferrovias, e o que mudou com a chegada e formação delas. Estas empresas serviram a maior parte do chamado Sul de Minas, uma região que possuía um quadro produtivo diversificado em nosso recorte cronológico. Os fluxos demonstravam uma forte tendência dos produtos sul mineiros ao comércio interprovincial/interestadual, principalmente com o Rio de Janeiro e São Paulo. As atividades relacionadas a agricultura e pecuária voltadas para o abastecimento ou consumo interno predominavam quando os trilhos são inaugurados, e a produção cafeeira ainda era incipiente, mas se expandia com consistência. Contudo, com o passar dos anos e o prolongamento dos trilhos, o perfil produtivo sul mineiro começa a se alterar. Não obstante o forte aumento da exportação de gado, o café caminha para se tornar o principal produto agrícola sul mineiro. Porém, os tradicionais produtos exportados pela região ainda continuam com forte presença até 1910, que é justamente o ano em que as três companhias são aglutinadas e forma-se a Companhia de Estradas Férreas Federais Brasileiras, CEFFB Rede Sul Mineira. Foi também muito importante a presença da Companhia Mogiana de Estradas de Ferro em alguns pontos da região, que captou boa parte da produção local e consequentemente desviou a exportação de localidades que utilizavam ou potencialmente poderiam utilizar os serviços das outras três companhias. / This research has the aim to study three Minas Gerais south railroads companies: E.F. Minas e Rio, Cia. Viação Férrea Sapucaí e Cia. Estrada de Ferro Muzambinho, to understand, in economics activities subjects, what existed in the south of Minas Gerais in outset of yours railroads, and what change their arrive and expansion. This enterprises served the great most south of Minas Gerais, a region that had a diversify production in later ninethy century. The outflow shown a strong tendence of south of Minas Gerais goods to the interprovincial interchange, Rio de Janeiro e São Paulo mainly. Agriculture and stock farming activities to the supply, predominated when the rails arrived, and the coffee production was still in the begin, but has expanded with force. However, along the years and with the rails expansion, the productive profile started change. Despite the strong growth of cattle exportation, the coffee walked to turn the main good of the south of Minas Gerais. However, the tradicionals exported goods still with great importance until 1910, the same year that the three companies are joined to creat the Companhia de Estradas de Ferro Federais Brasileiras, CEFFB Rede Sul Mineira. Too much important too was the presence of the Companhia Mogiana de Estradas de Ferro in some places of region, the captured a great part of local production and thereafter desviated the exportations of cities that used or potencialy could to use the services of the other ones companies.

Sistemas Gerenciadores de Workflows Científicos (SGWfCs) são utilizados para a especificação e gerenciamento desses workflows. Porém, cada SGWfC pode possuir características diferentes e uma linguagem de especificação de workflows própria, dificultando o reuso dos workflows entre diferentes SGWfCs. A inexistência de uma padronização semântica dificulta ainda mais esse reuso, uma vez que elementos de modelagem de workflow presentes em alguns SGWfCS podem não ser mapeáveis em outros SGWfCs. O uso de uma linguagem intermediária para o intercâmbio de workflows científicos facilita o reuso de workflows desenvolvidos em diferentes SGWfCs ao permitir a definição de um arcabouço comum para esses SGWfCs. No entanto, uma linguagem desse tipo não impede que haja perda de informação semântica durante um processo de transformação de especificações entre esses SGWfCs, uma vez que essa linguagem deve ser robusta o suficiente para representar a semântica de diversos workflows desenvolvidos em diferentes SGWfCs. A existência de padrões (patterns) em workflows científicos pode ajudar a explicitar as informações semânticas mais importantes para a construção desses workflows. Assim a proposta deste trabalho é oferecer uma abordagem baseada em padrões para o intercâmbio entre especificações de workflows científicos, empregando uma linguagem intermediária com suporte a informações semânticas obtidas através da descrição dos padrões. Esta dissertação analisa os resultados obtidos com essa proposta a partir da aplicação da abordagem em especificações de workflows armazenadas no repositório myExperiment. / Scientific workflows have been used to solve complex problems in different areas. Scientific Workflow Management Systems (SWfMSs) are used for specifying and managing these workflows. Nevertheless, each SWfMS may have different characteristics and its own workflow specification language, making its reuse accross different SWfMSs a difficult process. The lack of semantic standardization makes this reuse even more difficult, since the workflow modeling elements available in some SWfMSs may not be mapped onto others SWfMSs. The use of an intermediate language for the interchange of scientific workflows may help with the reuse of workflows developed in different SWfMSs, as it allows for the definition of a common framework for these SWfMSs. Nonetheless, such a language does not prevent the loss of some semantic information during a specification transformation process between different SWfMSs, since this language must be robust enough to represent the semantics of diverse workflows developed in different SWfMSs. The identification of scientific workflow patterns may help to describe the most important semantic information for the construction of these workflows. Thus, the purpose of this study is to provide a pattern-based approach for the interchange of scientific workflow specifications, using an intermediate language that supports semantic information obtained through the description of workflow patterns. This thesis also analyses the results obtained with the proposed approach being applied to workflow specifications stored in the myExperiment repository.

E-fakturans inverkan på inköpsuppföljning : En jämförande studie av tre kommuner i Sverige / E-invoice impact on purchasing follow-up : A comparative study of three municipalities in Sweden

Inom offentlig sektor i Sverige finns stora brister vid inköp- och avtalsuppföljning. Det är vanligt att inköp sker utanför ramavtal och det kan bero på att myndigheter saknar ett digitaliserat system för uppföljning. Genom digitalisering av inköp- och fakturahanteringsprocesser kan inköpsuppföljning göras effektivare och generera i stora besparingar.  Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka och förklara hur elektroniska fakturan påverkar inköpsaktiviteter inom offentlig sektor samt att identifiera om egenskaperna hos elektroniska fakturan kan bidra till ökad avtalstrohet. En undersökning är genomförd med ett resultat på hur elektronisk faktura används inom offentlig sektor och är genomförd med en kvalitativ metod och jämförande analys. En litteraturstudie mynnade ut i en analysmodell som utgjorde grunden till en intervjuguide. Primärdata är insamlad genom intervjuer med tre svenska kommuner, datakällorna har sedan jämförts mot varandra och analysmodellen.  Undersökningen visar att elektroniska fakturans information har en stor påverkan på inköpsuppföljning i offentlig sektor. Informationen används för att få fram rapporter och statistik om inköp för att kunna planera och ta beslut om framtida inköp och upphandlingar. Elektroniska fakturan påverkar även avtalstroheten genom att myndigheter får kontroll över vad de egentligen köper. Identifierade nyttofaktorer hos elektroniska fakturan som har direkt påverkan på inköpsuppföljningsaktiviteter är korrekt, samlad, sökbar och detaljerad faktura. Elektroniska fakturan förser myndigheter med en bred information och för att inköpsuppföljning ska vara möjlig krävs ett digitaliserat system där fakturor samlas och kontrolleras för att korrekta rapporter ska kunna sökas fram.

Esta pesquisa tem por objetivo principal investigar e avaliar as transformações ocorridas na organização espacial das estações ferroviárias, com o advento da sua integração física com a rede do metrô, na cidade de São Paulo, entre 1979, ano de inauguração da primeira estação integrada, a do Brás, e 2010, ano de inauguração da estação integrada Tamanduateí. São cinco estações delimitadas neste estudo, e que foram divididas em dois grupos: no primeiro, as de estruturas conectadas - Brás, Luz e Santo Amaro -; no segundo, as estações de estrutura compartilhada - Barra Funda e Tamanduateí. Este trabalho estrutura-se em cinco partes. Primeira: Conceitos gerais, objetivos e metodologia da pesquisa. Segunda: Análise das transformações na tipologia das estações ferroviárias, até o advento da integração modal. Terceira: Diretrizes para projetos de arquitetura de estações ferroviárias, de metrô e de integração modal. Quarta: Análise das cinco estações sob três aspectos: organização espacial da estação ferroviária e do metrô, integração física e atendimento ao fluxo de transferência. Quinta: As análises são cruzadas com as informações contidas no embasamento teórico, considerações finais. Cada estação apresenta as marcas das intervenções efetuadas em diferentes períodos na ferrovia. As análises das estações delinearam as diversas fases da integração intra-modal CPTM-Metrô na cidade de São Paulo, expondo pontos positivos, equívocos e seu estado atual / This research aims to investigate and to evaluate the changes occurring in the spatial organization of the railway stations, with the advent of the interchange with the metro network in the city of Sao Paulo, between 1979, opening´s year of the first station of this kind, Bras, and 2010, opening´s year of Tamanduatei. There are five stations defined in this study, and they were divided into two groups: in the first, the connected structures - Bras, Luz and Santo Amaro -; in the second, shared structure - Barra Funda and Tamanduatei. This study is divided into five parts. First: General concepts, objectives and research´s methodology. Second: Analysis of changes in the railway station´s types, until the advent of modal interchange. Third: Guidelines for architectural design of railway stations, subway and modal interchanges. The topic of this master thesis is the solution of Brno expressway in section between interchanges Hlinky and Velodrom. The thesis introduces two alternatives of height trajectory of Brno expressway. In first alternative the expressway is above current terrain on the estacade. The local roads are situated under the estacade on the terrain level. The neighboring areas stay intouched. In the second alternative the author presumes the reconstruction of part of the exhibition centre. In this case the expressway is situated on the terrain level and rises up just before interchange Velodrom. The local area is serviced by the new road situated in reconstructed area and by two bridges over the expressway. The next topic of the thesis is the solution of interchange Velodrom. Both alternatives are compared in the end.

The bypasses should be, according to the area planning, connected to road I/23 in the place of the existing T-junction of this road and road II/394, located to the east of the city Rosice. This connection will require the changing of the exisisting junction solutions. The thesis deals with the choice of the appropriate type of junctions and mainly contains the study of this designed interchange junction.

Enhance Inter-service Communication in Supersonic K-Native REST-based Java Microservice Architectures

The accelerating progress in network speeds and computing power permitted the architectural design paradigm to shift from monolithic applications to microservices. The industry moved from single-core and multi-threads, code-heavy applications, running on giant machines 24/7 to smaller machines, multi-cores single threads where computing power and memory consumption are managed very critically. With the advent of this novel approach to designing systems, traditional multi-tier applications have been broken down into hundreds of microservices that can be easily moved around, start, and stop quickly. In this context, scaling assumed a new meaning, rather than scaling up by adding more resources or computing power, now systems are scaled dynamically by adding more microservices instances. This contribution proposes a theoretical study and a practical experiment to investigate, compare and outline the performance improvements aid by the implementation of Protocol Buffers, Google's language-neutral, binary-based representational data interchange format over traditional text-based serialization formats in a modern, Cloud-Native, REST-based Java Microservice architecture. Findings are presented showing promising results regarding the implementation of Protobuf, with a significant reduction in response time (25.1% faster in the best-case scenario) and smaller payload size (72.28% better in the best-case scenario) when compared to traditional textual serialization formats while literature revealed out-of-the-box mechanisms for message versioning with backward compatibility.

We use numerical code ESEL to model interchange turbulence and investigate properties of turbulent structures in different regimes of parallel trans- port. Means of experimental verification of the results are discussed. Results of the modelling are then used to interpret unexpected results experimentally obtained by electrostatic ball-pen probes on tokamak ASDEX Upgrade, mainly appearance of a 'bump' in power spectra of measured plasma potential. Next, we explain be- haviour of cross-correlation function of density signals measured by two spatially separated Langmuir probes in the vicinity of magnetic separatrix and we point out an ambiguity in interpretation of results of vorticity measurement made by set of floating Langmuir probes.
