Classificação multicritério de peças de reposição /

Kriguer, Henrique. January 2015 (has links)
The inventory management becomes increasingly important due to the need for improved efficiency in the supply chain, which translates into cost savings and increased service level. The literature on the management of spare parts inventory is wide, but is rarely addressed in relation to the choice of classification model. In this work, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method was applied to a Company of capital goods to determine the priority vector of the criteria adopted for the spare parts classification. Here, based on the results of this study the Replacement Index, which was adopted as a correction factor in inventory values according to the ABC classification. The goal was achieved with the improvement of classification method, making the work of the best structured inventory planner, allowing can take the form of structured replenishment decision as pre-established parameters / Mestre

Thereafter the production of sea salt started to be made in a process of continuous flow, where the product is constantly stored in yards, with daily movements in and out of salt. Thus far, the major bottleneck found in this production process is the control of production, because due to the large amount produced and variety of losses existing in the various stages of production there are not a regulated and safe way to control inventories with accuracy and speed demanded. In a typical case with a salt marsh company of Rio Grande do Norte state, salt produced is stored in two open courtyards and inventory control of salt made by carrying input / output relationship of salt in each storage yard. This work developed a conceptual model of inventory control, based on topography, adopting surveys into one of the courtyards of the company. There were 25 biweekly survey measurements over a year book to generate digital models representing the stock. For each measurement, results were compared with the values of inventory accounting provided by the salt marsh in order to identify existing losses and mark out the sales department on the actual stock available at each measurement date. Inventories calculated by the model indicated losses of 6,349 tonnes for the period of one year book and 3,279 tonnes for the period between harvests, when compared to the accounting control / O fortalecimento da ind?stria nacional nos ?ltimos 20 anos exigiu a moderniza??o, mecaniza??o e amplia??o da produ??o salineira.

Investigating the impact of supply chain technologies within automative supplier clusters

Schultz, Lance Craig January 2013 (has links)
Organisations are constantly expected to be more competitive while working in an environment in which time and cost are limited, thereby preventing such organisations from taking the time required to be responsive. The supply chain provides a critical linkage between various organisations which should seek collective opportunities to improve performance. It is, therefore, important that organisations understand that conventional knowledge and methods will not serve unless there is a concerted focus on improvement of organisational performance toward fulfilling increased expectations, not just maintaining that which is comfortable. A more sustainable approach may be the introduction of supply chain best practice. An optimal supply chain is one that continuously strives to reduce unnecessary cost and eliminate waste, thereby increasing the percentage of time that may be devoted to value-adding activities. Supply chain technology principles were assessed and the application thereof, sought to understand its efficiency and effectiveness. This study was intended to identify supply chain cost dimensions with a focus on the optimal use of supply chain technology. Within the current supply chain context, the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) was explored to identify opportunities. A supply chain audit tool (SCAT) was developed which had proven to be an effective tool to analyse it’s logistics functions. Implementation of remedial tools through the SCAT could result in a leaner, cost optimal and more value-adding process. The result of conducting individual organisational improvements is expected to result in an overall improvement in the total supply chain. These supply chain cost drivers were rooted in cost, quality, safety and product performance. Recommendations on further improvements were also offered.

Förbättring och effektivisering av lagerhantering

Mirzaie Shra, Afroz, Vu, Felix January 2017 (has links)
The following thesis is based on a study on warehousing for an inventory of finished goods at Volvo Construction Equipment in Eskilstuna.   The inventory stores components consisting axles and transmissions. The project portrays a current situation analysis based on collected primary data, in form of interviews and observations. The current situation analysis includes a detailed process mapping, different warehouse layouts along with calculations. These aspects have been used in the development of improvement propositions.   The company is currently required to deliver components according to FIFO (First In, First Out), that is therefore fundamental when designing the following thesis. The project has however not been based on implementing FIFO, but only improving the existing management of FIFO. The current way of working with FIFO at the company is not ideal, consequently contributed to lack of storage space. This has eventually led to some components being stored outside the warehouse. It means that the components will not be weather-protected, which is one of the aspects that the company wishes to improve.   The Authors have presented various improvement propositions consisting investing in a: pallet, mobile- and a push back racking system and an improved inventory layout. These suggestions have been compared based on various factors that could be prioritized by the company. Examples on these key factors are: cost, volume utilization and enforcement of FIFO. The cost analysis for the racking systems are based on assistance from suppliers that has led to an enhanced cost comparison. The presented propositions have been delimited to ultimately being able to decide the final suggestion. For further studies, the company is recommended to invest in a pallet racking system, which is not only a beneficial economical solution, but also solves space shortage while all the components are stored with weather- protection. This will ultimately lead to improvement on managing FIFO in the finished goods inventory that the company strives after.

Optimising maintenance inventories of a cement manufacturer

Eloff, Morné 11 July 2013 (has links)
M.Com. (Business Management) / A key performance indicator of a cement manufacturer is that of its operating equipment efficiencies or OEE. The world-best standard for OEE of cement manufacturers is 85%, and this figure can only be achieved through very good maintenance practices and programmes combined with exceptional maintenance inventory levels and good maintenance inventory strategies. Maintenance inventory can be described as spares that support the manufacturing process, but that is not included in the final product. Like all types of inventory, maintenance inventory has a cost associated with carrying the inventory that can be calculated through applying the various carrying cost components associated with inventory. In a cement manufacturer this carrying cost figure can be excessively high as a result of the slow movement of major spare components that have to be held in inventory due to its critical importance to the manufacturing process. It is also evident that inventory levels in AfriSam are high. This may be due to the fact that management believe the best possible method to minimise the risk of production loss during a breakdown, is to increase maintenance inventory levels with no comparison to the costs associated with carrying the inventory. The chosen research problem is: “AfriSam (Pty) Ltd carries maintenance inventory worth millions of rands with slow movement of high value maintenance inventory sometimes in excess of 3 years. The cost of managing the inventory together with the carrying cost of the inventory has become a key focus point in the business and there is a need to find methods to optimise the inventory.”

Inventory management of medicines used to treat non-communicable chronic diseases in public health clinics at Dikgale Community, Limpopo Province

Molope, Raesetja Engelina January 2020 (has links)
Thesis (M.A. Pharm. (Pharmacy Practice) -- University of Limpopo, 2020 / Background: Non-communicable chronic disease contributes to premature mortality in SA, threatening the socio-economic development of the country. The efficient management of essential medicines supply at the clinic level is vital as stock-outs of the medicines increase morbidity and mortality. Objectives: The study aimed to identify and determine the challenges in the inventory management of medicine for the treatment of non-communicable chronic diseases at public health clinics in the Dikgale community of Limpopo province. Methods: The study used a cross-sectional quantitative research design; the purposive sampling technique was used, as it requires people with specific skills, knowledge, and expertise. A Pre-validated questionnaire was used to collect data from pharmacists, professional nurses, and transport personnel. Stock card utilization review and checklist were used to verify the answers obtained from the participants. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyse the data collected. All these processes ensure that stock is always available and at optimal levels. The availability of stock at optimal levels is dependent on the personnel following SOPs. Results: In total, 40% of pharmacists indicated to have never trained nursing personnel on stock management, and 66.7% which, is the majority of nursing personnel, reported they have never been trained on stock management. Only 26.67% of medicines used for NCDs did not have stock cards. The study further found that the stock-card was not used every time a transaction was made. Thirty-nine (39%) percent of the respondents did not know how to quantify order quantities; this factor contributes to stock-outs experienced at clinics. All the clinics did not have a secure dedicated area. Deliveries are offloaded outside the medicine room. Conclusions: There is a training gap that needs to be closed to meet the minimum requirements as per GPP guidelines and also help to reduce medicine stock-outs as personnel will be well equipped to handle stock. In terms of inventory management and stock control systems, all primary healthcare sectors used a manual/paper-based inventory management system. Stock control systems are in place but were not always utilised and, processes are not consistent among staff members across clinics. With distribution, it would work better if nursing personnel dedicated a person to place and receive orders as discrepancies will be picked up sooner, and quantities will be sufficient to last until the next ordering date. None of the clinics complied with “Ideal Clinic” standards for infrastructure, storage, and inventory management. / VLIR
