This Dissertation discusses the way adopted by Miriense printed newspaper (JM) to present its subject-reader the woman who has public and political action in Igarapé-Miri City, either with regard to the analysis of a more focused media coverage for the proper political personality, either with regard to the examination of an enunciation that turns to the dissemination of more specific political actions such as the performance of women in social movements and in the Igarapé-Miri City Hall. We investigate the discursive functioning of the journalistic practice materialized in JM. Such a vehicle is produced in the Igarapé-Miri city (PA) for 35 years. More specifically, we focus on a set of disseminated publications between 2004 and 2008. They were divided in four groups of texts, defined as G1, G2, G3 and G4, which present the feminine role in various public / political functions (G1 and G2) and the specific role of mayor of Igarapé-Miri (G3 and G4). In these publications, we try to pay attention to the joints between the journalistic practice and public/ political life in Igarapé- Miri and between discourses about women's social position and the gender dimension that can impact the way to say, journalistically, about female appearance at JM. How these joints generate meanings in the analyzed publications is a question that specifically defines the main horizon defined for this study: to investigate the interdiscursive relationships constituents of JM, materialized in the texts that thematize the female public/political action in Igarapé-Miri. This research is based on postulates of the French Discourse Analysis (AD), specifically along the lines advocated by Dominique Maingueneau (1997, 2008, 2011), taking into account the adoption of the following theoretical and analytical tools: interdiscourse, discursive practice, enunciation scene and discursive deixis. We believe that journalistic enunciation of JM exposes interdiscursive relations called in the texts to refer to the thematized political figure established by a set of enunciative scenes, which are supported by elements of the adopted discursive deixis. In this interface, the overlap between media and speech is of vital importance, which is why the research is founded on postulates of authors like Gregolin (2007), Lage (2005), Melo (1994) and Miguel (2002, 2003a). It was possible to find a set of interdiscursive relations pointing to links between the journalistic discourse of JM with the ongoing religious practice in Igarapé-Miri and between this journalistic practice and political practice that helps form the town public life, as well as between journalistic discursive practice and the gender dimension, which significantly impacts the discursive function and senses run on JM on women with public and political action in Igarapé-Miri city.

In search of an appropriate leadership ethos : a survey of selected publications that shaped the Black Theology movement

Ndalamba, Ken Kalala January 2010 (has links)

The understanding and practice of leadership in Sub-Saharan Africa, in all spheres, is at the heart beat of this work. Questions and concerns over the quality of leadership in most countries in this particular region are reasons which have led to revisit and investigate the formative training of the current cohort of African leadership with a special focus on the ethical aspect of leadership. It is an assumption, in this thesis, that the contemporary cohort of African leadership received their formative training especially in the 1960s and 1970s and that they were deeply influenced by the black consciousness movement and, in association with that, by the emergence of black theology. In this respect, this research project explores the notions of ethics and leadership with a view to determine ways in which an appropriate leadership ethos was portrayed and articulated in the writings of selected exponents of the black theology movement, namely ML King (Jr), Desmond Tutu and Allan Boesak. The purpose of this work is therefore mainly descriptive: to map discourse on a leadership ethos in the context especially of black theology.

Solitary objects on quantum spin rings

Shchelokovskyy, Pavlo 16 December 2004 (has links)
We investigate whether quantum spin rings with nearest-neighbor Heisenberg or Ising exchange interactions can host solitary states. Using complete diagonalization techniques the system is described without classical or semiclassical approximation. In this case definitions used in connection with classical solitons are not applicable, one needs to redefine what solitary objects on a quantum spin system with translational symmetry ought to be. Thus, we start our contribution by defining which quantum states possess solitary character. In addition we discuss useful observables in order to visualize solitary quantum states. Then we demonstrate for various quantum spin rings that solitary quantum states indeed exist, and that they are moving around the spin ring without changing their shape in the course of time.

Anisotropie und Magnetostriktion als Korrekturen zum Heisenberg-Modell am Beispiel des Moleküls {Ni4Mo12}

Brüger, Mirko 25 September 2008 (has links)

Långbro park : förändringar i funktion och estetik / Långbro park : changes in functions and in esthetics

Svanberg, Marie-Louise January 2012 (has links)

Symmetry assisted exact and approximate determination of the energy spectra of magnetic molecules using irreducible tensor operators

Schnalle, Roman 23 October 2009 (has links)
In this work a numerical approach for the determination of the energy spectra and the calculation of thermodynamic properties of magnetic molecules is presented. The work is focused on the treatment of spin systems which exhibit point-group symmetries. Ring-like and archimedean-type structures are discussed as prominent examples. In each case the underlying spin quantum system is modeled by an isotropic Heisenberg Hamiltonian. Its energy spectrum is calculated either by numerical exact diagonalization or by an approximate diagonalization method introduced here. In order to implement full spin-rotational symmetry the numerical approach at hand is based on the use of irreducible tensor operators. Furthermore, it is shown how an unrestricted use of point-group symmetries in combination with the use of irreducible tensor operators leads to a reduction of the dimensionalities as well as to additional information about the physics of the systems. By exemplarily demonstrating how the theoretical foundations of the irreducible tensor operator technique can be realized within small spin systems the technical aspect of this work is covered. These considerations form the basis of the computational realization that was implemented and used in order to get insight into the investigated systems.
