Estudaremos sistemas dinâmicos complexos da esfera de Riemann, e empregaremos técnicas do Formalismo Termodinâmico incluindo a fórmula de Bowen para provar que a dimensão de Hausdorff \'dim IND. H\' J( \'f IND. lâmbda\' ) do conjunto de Julia J( \'f IND. lâmbda\' ) de uma família holomorfa de funções racionais hiperbólicas f \'lambda\' define uma função real analítica do parâmetro \'lambda\' . In addition, we seek a form of measure the Julia set, for this we use the Hausdorff measure and determine a lower bound to the Hausdorff dimension of the Julia set. / Neste trabalho estudamos algumas propriedades geométricas do Conjunto de Julia e do e Conjunto de Julia Cheio. Além disso, procuramos uma forma de mensurar o conjunto de Julia, para isso utilizamos a medida de Hausdorff e determinamos uma cota inferior para a dimensão de Hausdorff do conjunto de Julia.

A presente pesquisa busca compreender se e como os direitos à ProvisÃo, à ProteÃÃo e à ParticipaÃÃo (3 Ps) sÃo promovidos no canal e na atuaÃÃo da youtuber mirim Julia Silva, de 12 anos, no YouTube. O 3 Ps sÃo categorias de direitos reconhecidos na ConvenÃÃo sobre os Direitos da CrianÃa (CDC), aprovada pela Assembleia Geral das NaÃÃes Unidas em 1989. O entendimento sobre o YouTube como plataforma de vÃdeos e potencializador de processos comunicacionais foi estabelecido com o auxÃlio de Burguess; Green (2009) e Jenkins (2009). Nesse contexto, os estudos de Lange (2014), que pesquisou a apropriaÃÃo do YouTube realizada por crianÃas nos Estados Unidos, tambÃm foram importantes para identificar semelhanÃas e particularidades desse processo em suas relaÃÃes contextuais. A compreensÃo da crianÃa como ser de direitos e a importÃncia da CDC na consolidaÃÃo desse processo foi possÃvel com a contribuiÃÃo deixada por autores como Livingstone (2014), Livingstone; Brake (2010), MarÃpo (2013), Pinheiro (2006) e Vasconcelos (2003). A pesquisa, com enfoque qualitativo, se debruÃou sobre um corpus formado por 15 vÃdeos do canal que Julia Silva mantÃm no YouTube, bem como sobre notÃcias e reportagens em vÃrios formatos que abordaram diferentes questÃes sobre o universo dos youtubers mirins. Com o auxÃlio dos postulados de Foucault (1996, 2008) acerca da AnÃlise do Discurso, a pesquisa concluiu que a ProvisÃo à promovida a partir de abordagens que favorecem: o brincar; prÃticas de leitura; associaÃÃes entre pares e adultos; ensinamentos a partir de vÃdeos de DIY (do it yourself); liÃÃes de literacia digital; aprendizagem de palavras em inglÃs; a execuÃÃo de dons artÃsticos. A ProteÃÃo ganha destaque a partir de mensagens sobre os cuidados necessÃrios no processo de apropriaÃÃo do ambiente online, a fim de evitar situaÃÃes de bullying, por exemplo, bem como nas ocasiÃes em que Julia ensina algo ao pÃblico, ocasiÃes em que o bem-estar da audiÃncia à promovido. A ParticipaÃÃo à promovida a partir dos resultados da apropriaÃÃo do YouTube realizada por Julia, oportunidades em que a garota, em parte, exerce o direito à expressÃo e à liberdade de opiniÃo. PorÃm, a pesquisa tambÃm concluiu que os direitos aos 3 Ps sÃo constantemente negligenciados (ou atà mesmo feridos) neste processo de apropriaÃÃo, uma vez que mensagens mercadolÃgicas e discursos celebrados, como o da autenticidade, por exemplo, permeiam a produÃÃo audiovisual protagonizada por Julia. Os investimentos no gerenciamento de imagem da garota nÃo levam em consideraÃÃo o interesse maior da crianÃa preconizado na CDC e acabam colaborando nÃo sà com o processo de celebrizaÃÃo da youtuber mirim, como tambÃm contribuem para que as atividades decorrentes dessa inserÃÃo online ganhem contornos laborais, caracterizados por uma extensa produÃÃo imagÃtica de si nos vÃdeos, eventos sociais, propagandas e produtos licenciados assinados pela garota.

Ce travail porte sur la modélisation de gazéification de la biomasse dans un réacteur solaire à lit fixe. Nous avons développé et validé différents modules pour la résolution des problèmes physiques associés à de tels gazéifieurs (volumes finis, équilibre thermodynamique, facteur de forme, radiosité, évolution du maillage, etc.). Le réacteur est ensuite modélisé et confronté à des mesures expérimentales pour sa validation. Ces résultats nous laissent supposer que, pour les conditions opératoires rencontrées dans ce réacteur, l’évolution de la vitesse de chauffage et du taux de centre sont des facteurs d’influence importants de la cinétique pour le bois de hêtre. Une étude du réacteur en supposant que la réaction atteint l’équilibre thermodynamique est ensuite conduite et montre que cette approche doit être employée avec précaution pour le domaine de température étudié. Une étude paramétrique concernant la mise en place d’un échangeur air-air entre le gaz de sortie et le gaz d’entrée est proposée. Elle nous montre que l’ajout d’un gaz inerte peut être intéressant d’un point de vue énergétique dans de telles conditions. Enfin, un absorbeur solaire adapté au gazéifieur est ensuite modélisé et validé afin de pouvoir évaluer la sensibilité du système complet. / This work focuses on the modeling of biomass gasification in a solar fixed bed reactor. We developed and validated different modules to compute physical problems associated with such gasifier (finite volume, thermodynamic equilibrium, view factor, radiosity, evolution of the mesh, etc.). The reactor is then modeled, and results are compared to experimental measurements for its validation. These results suggest that for the operating conditions encountered in this reactor, the evolution of the heating rate and the ash concentration may influence the kinetics of the beech wood gasification. A study of the reactor by assuming thermodynamic equilibrium is conducted and shows that this approach should be used with caution for the studied temperature range. Parametric study of an air-air exchanger between the output and input gas is proposed. It shows that the addition of an inert gas can be interesting from an energy point of view in such conditions. Finally, a solar absorber suited to the reactor is modeled and validated in order to assess the sensitivity of the complete system.

La intención con esta tesina es analizar los conceptos diáspora, hibridismo y extrañamiento en la novela De cómo las Muchachas García perdieron el acento de Julia Álvarez (2007). El primer concepto define el desplazamiento de las personas y el segundo la mezcla de culturas e identidades que surgen al traspasar fronteras. Estos dos fenómenos muchas veces resultan en un extrañamiento; es decir, el sentimiento de no pertenecer del todo al nuevo país. No obstante, el extrañamiento también puede tener un efecto positivo ya que crea estrategias para enfrentar los nuevos problemas. Tomaremos como punto de partida los tres conceptos de diáspora, hibridismo y extrañamiento, que han sido desarrollados por Kalra, Kaur y Hutnyk (2005), Bhabha (2002) y Shklovski (1978). Así mismo intentaremos analizar el mensaje de la autora quien a través de estos conceptos muestra la búsqueda de la propia identidad en un país extraño.

Den här uppsatsen har studerat tio utvalda nyhetsartiklar från traditionella och alternativa medier i fallet Julia Caesar i relation till teorin om sju krav på journalistik i en demokrati. Frågeställningarna har varit: 1. Hur väl uppfylls varje krav i respektive nyhetsartikel? 2. Framgår någon skillnad mellan de traditionella och alternativa medierna i hur de förhåller sig till sju krav på journalistik i en demokrati och i sådana fall hur påvisas det? En kvalitativ textanalys med en hermeneutisk utgångspunkt tillämpas i uppsatsen. I analysen har citat valts ut för att påvisa varför ett krav uppfyllts eller inte. Resultatet av den här uppsatsen har visat att de traditionella medierna i en större utsträckning än de alternativa medierna uppfyller de sju kraven men att både de traditionella och alternativa medierna har en viktig roll i samhället, det gör det möjligt för medborgare att läsa olika åsikter kring samma nyhet.

I denna uppsats kommer jag analysera flickskildringen i två ungdomsromaner, Freaky green eyes och Two or three things I forgot to tell you av Joyce Carol Oates. Romanernas flickor bär på pendlande känslor av begär och avsky både inför sig själva och sina föräldrar. Därför har Julia Kristevas teorier kring abjektion som förklarar dessa motstridiga känslor som en del av subjektets tillblivelse varit fruktsamma för min analys. Flickorna söker tillgång till språket och makten genom en identifikation med sina pappor och manliga värden samt ett bortstötande av sina mammor och allt som representerar det kvinnliga. Men för att må bra och kunna uttrycka sin egen sanning krävs ett omfamnande av mammorna och den egna kvinnligheten vilket när de tillslut fullbordas får flickorna att hitta inre harmoni och sin egen röst.

The present research deals with the application of Julia Kristeva s psychoanalytic theories of the mind to a selection of William Shakespeare s plays. Kristeva s key psychoanalytic terms the symbolic, the semiotic and the abject are first elaborated in detail and are then applied to different situations and characters in the plays. The plays discussed in this thesis are A Midsummer Night s Dream, As You Like It and The Taming of the Shrew for the comedy section, Richard II, 1 & 2 Henry IV and Coriolanus for the English and Roman History section, and Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth and King Lear for the Tragedy section. The reason for choosing the above plays is that I believe there is a gap of knowledge in this regard and no thorough research on this scale has been conducted up to this time. The intention is to discuss and explicate the moments in which the dramatic heroes undergo some unconscious-driven experiences that can be best explained by Kristeva s post-Freudian psychoanalytic approach. In short, what I am going to show in the present study is the psychoanalytic assumption that Shakespearean characters, forced by internal or external elements, leave the symbolic and take refuge in the semiotic. In such moments, the characters inevitably face the abject which is an archaic memory comprising the elements of enchantment and horror. The abject can be best described as the archaic memories of a distant past when the self had no border and was associated with the semiotic, a subject s harmonious beginning. In its early childhood, to become a subject, an individual breaks its semiotic ties and, by so doing, enters the realm of the symbolic which is associated with grammar and law. The symbolic awards a subject a distinct identity and helps it stay on the route to signification. Kristeva s understanding of the process of individuation is explained by her subject in process , a journey in which a subject always oscillates between the symbolic and the semiotic. The key point in Kristeva s psychoanalytic thought is that the semiotic does not fade away and hovers around a subject s border of identity and remains a constant threat for its symbolic identity. To remain immune from the annihilating forces of the semiotic, a subject has to remain vigilant and protect its borders of identity. My main goal in this thesis is to show that, in some particular situations in the plays, Shakespearean characters fail to remain vigilant and, inevitably, their subjects are exposed to the abject. In other words, in moments of ambition, anger, love or fear, they surrender or take refuge in the semiotic and face the abject. Although Shakespearean plays have previously been approached by Sigmund Freud s (and some other major practitioners ) theories, the application of Kristeva s psychoanalytic theories of the mind gives the opportunity to approach the plays from a new perspective that would otherwise have remained unknown. Thus, the originality of this research lies in its extensive application of Kristeva s theories to the selected Shakespearean plays, theories that, although they derive from those of Freud, have the potential to shed light on those psychoanalytic aspects of the plays that Freud either neglected or left unfinished.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Science / A concise stereo-selective synthesis of a protected form of APTO 1, an unusual amino acid component of microsclerodermin C 2, was undertaken. Sequential Sharpless Asymmetric Aminohydroxylation (AA) and Asymmetric Dihydroxylation (AD) reactions were used to introduce the chiral amino and hydroxyl groups. Specific directing groups were chosen to ensure high regio- and enantio-selectivity in these reactions. The target compound was reached in a linear reaction sequence of fourteen steps. The strategy was designed to generate common intermediates which could be used to access analogous amino acid fragments in other microsclerodermins. A protected form of AETD 3, from microsclerodermin E, was synthesised via a late-stage common intermediate. Initial studies into the modification of the sequence to allow access to AMPTD 4 and 10-methyl AMPTD 5 were made.
