This study aims to analyze the social and affective experiences that developed in space
comprising Cine Bandeirante in Santa Cruz do Capibaribe in the years 1966-1986.
Interested in understanding how sociabilities assigned to this area occurred since the
tours and flirt evidenced on the sidewalk from the venue to the projections displayed
inside the cinema and its influence on the ways of acting and behaving of their regulars.
Based on the concept of sensitive city found the need to understand complex issues and
especially peculiar of these and other spaces dedicated to leisure in Santa Cruz during
the period in. Urban transformations and the modern apparatus such as film, appearing
as ordinary objects in history and daily life of most cities, however it is the role of the
historian and purpose of this research, see how such objects they entered the limits of
urban space, we propose to study, as their inhabitants saw, felt and what they tell about
such objects. The study aims to understand how the city of yore, in several distinct
aspects of the current, conceived the arrival of cinema, felt his residence and managed
the habit of frequenting this place of leisure and sociability. Thus, we analyze the film
from conception Certeauniana, where individuals often invent new uses for a place
endowed with taxes, thus adapting them to their way.

Citizen participation and public recreation planning : case study and definition of criteria for citizen participation, Santa Cruz, BoliviaSanchez, Julio Cesar January 1995 (has links)
The city of Santa Cruz, Bolivia, has grown the last 40 years according to an urban plan. However, this urban planning process does not permit the citizen participation in public recreation planning. The Popular Participation Law approved in April, 1994, open new possibilities for citizen participation in public recreation planning in Santa Cruz. However, there are limitation in the implementation of the law.In order to correct those limitation the present study proposes basic criteria for popular participation in management of public recreational facilities. These criteria refer to delimitation of the neighborhoods in the city, the democratization of the Juntas Vecinales, and the definition of the organic structure of the Juntas Vecinales in a way that can permit popular participation. / Department of Urban Planning

Logo, esta pesquisa procurou também conceder visibilidade tanto aos movimentos sociais como às demandas que os levam a se organizar.<br> / Abstract : The present study which was developed within the research area of "Geography in Educational Processes" has an aim to understand the educational nature of social movements through the analysis of the trajectory of an urban settlement taking place on the Maciço do Morro da Cruz, in Florianópolis/SC. Therefore, firstly it was sought to contextualize the urbanization model which took place in Brazil through a historical analysis of the main urban planning schools of thought, in addition to comprehend the way in which the urban planning itself was used as a tool to conceal the real urban problems faced in the country, focusing solely on the official city and recurrently ignoring areas of territorialization of urban poverty. Furthermore, it was sought to demonstrate how Brazilian urbanization leaned against precarious and illegal territorialization of the low-income population as a way to intensify its development and capital accumulation by paying low wages to workers. The territorialization of poverty was understood as a method of resistence, especially the ones taking place in central areas within urban spaces, as they consist in a confrontation to the pressures of real estate speculation and spatial segregation. Such situation causes these low-income workers to usually occupy more peripheral and remote locations, far from trade and availability of formal and informal jobs. It was taken into account that the perceived lack of civil rights, as well as other issues caused by conflicts and power relations within a heteronomous society, has the ability to generate activism and social movements that have a certain educative character. That is, social movements are collective subjects that build in the course of its organizational process (which is also educational) non-formal education experiences. Thus, this research focused on the analysis of its main subject, the Ocupação Palmares, and its organizational process. With that, it was sought to demonstrate the educational experiences that were built during the process of organizing and establishing objectives in common between the different individuals that were involved in this socio-territorial movement. The educative character was understood as something which is created within the social movement, but that goes beyond it, creating teaching and learning relations even with its opponents and society as a whole. This occurs because themes of social relevance are brought to light through the repercussion of actions of these movements and social groups, once such themes are often ignored and/or neglected in corporate media, formal education and institutional policy. Therefore, this research also sought to provide visibility to social movements and the demands that lead them to get organized.

contemporaneamente, a obra do poeta catarinense.
Cruz e Sousa / Through this thesis, we propose a mapping research of every main historical step
which hosted the work of Brazilian symbolist poet João da Cruz e Sousa (1861 1898),
by means of the analysis and comparison of the texts, in which it was identified a slow
transformation in the critical readings of the poet through time, since 1893, when his
work established the emergence of Symbolism in Brazil, up until today, positioning the
“critic” as the “effective reader”, and including the academicists. The originality of the
proposal consists of the critical approach that brought along several texts and essays, in
which practically “all” readings were analyzed (except for a few smaller works), and
that used the “Aesthethic of Reception” as a theoreticalmethod framework, not only
through its main representatives, such as Hans Robert Jauss, Wolfgang Iser and Hans
Ulrich Gumbrecht, but also Luiz Costa Lima, Regina Zilberman, and the theories of
Mikhail Bakhtin, Paul Zumthor, Roland Barthes, Hugo Friedrich, Umberto Eco, among
others pointed out in the Introduction. Directing the studies towards the critical
reception of the work, the research was enriched by the compared analysis, in which we
tried to understand the historical and sociocultural progression that followed the
evolution of Cruz e Sousa’s reception, taking ethnic and racial matters into
consideration, and we verified the ways in which the poet’s work is read
contemporarily. As a result of our journey, we based his work theoretically upon a
possible prospective interpretation in our own readings, for the purpose of contributing
to give light to new paths and to make a difference in the renovation of the manner in
which Cruz e Sousa’s work is interpretated

Development of a model for design of water harvesting systems in small scale rainfed agricultureCadot, Paule-Darly, 1960- January 1989 (has links)
In arid and semi-arid regions, water harvesting systems can augment water supply for crop production purposes. The functioning of this type of system is controlled by three major factors: weather, crop and soil characteristics. In particular, the weather factors vary stochastiscally and thus, need to be predicted on the basis of their probability of occurrence. Furthermore, long-term historical data is scarce in the arid regions. Consequently, the simulation approach is a good alternative for designing the system. This study developed a micro-computer based model, SSWHS89.BAS, for design of small scale water harvesting systems for perennial crops. The model uses elements of a simulation computer program, CLIMATE.BAS (Woolhiser, 1988), to generate daily rainfall, maximum and minimum temperature and radiation data and predicts evapotranspiration and runoff data from a deterministic computer program, PENMNSCS.BAS for the location of interest. The model was used to determine the characteristics of a water harvesting system in a vineyard field at Sonoita, Az.
