The present work has as main objective indicate some characteristics that define the resulting journalism from the reuse of still published news is printed journalism. Through the discourse qualitative analysis, thematic depiction and the argumentative web of the three issues of Cadernos Diplô, derivative publications from monthly newspaper Le Monde Diplomatique, and the trajectory of constructivist paradigms (structuralist and interacionist theories), gatekeeper and newsmaking that mark the journalism theories, it was possible to conclude that the reuse of news is an editorial practice and not a particular category within journalism, and it can contribute to ease the myopia that the interpretative community, meaning, the journalists suffer, and it is presented as an alternative facing the journalistic necessity which characterize the focused journalist by the present. Beyond being an alternative also to the present criterion or the factually the mold the commercial/industrial journalism (that consider the news as goods to be commercialized), work as an optimization process in the information management and to preserve memories and analyses which are important human being history

Intelectuais no Le Monde Diplomatique: relações entre França e Argentina (1999-2011) / Intellectuals in Le Monde Diplomatique: relations between France and Argentina (1999-2011)

Ogassawara, Juliana Sayuri 05 November 2015 (has links)
This study proposes an analysis of the relationship between the editions of the journal Le Monde Diplomatique published in Latin American and France. Founded in May 1954, in Paris, by Hubert Beuve-Méry, also founder of the daily Le Monde, Le Monde Diplomatique had its pages and ideas spread across several countries in February 2013, the magazine had 47 international editions (39 printed and 8 only digital). Throughout time, primarily with the passages of the French journalist Claude Julien (between 1973 and 1990) and the Spanish sociologist Ignacio Ramonet (between 1990 and 2008) as directors of this magazine focused on politics and international affairs, Le Monde Diplomatique had its style marked by politicized editorial guidelines, professedly anti-imperialist and anti-neoliberal. This thesis aims to analyze the version published in Buenos Aires, considered the leading Latin American edition, founded by the initiative of the Argentine journalist Carlos Gabetta, director of Le Monde Diplomatique Edición Cono Sur between July 1999 and January 2011. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the continuities and ruptures of the editorial policies and guidelines inherited from the European headquarter. At the same time, this thesis intends to highlight the possible impacts of Latin American reality on the French magazines perspective about the future of the left in contemporary politics. Thus focusing on the circulation of ideas between Argentina and France, this study is situated in the history of intellectuals, anchored in political history and history of present time.

Le Monde Diplomatique Brasil: por uma história possível / Le Monde Diplomatique Brasil: Foa a possible story

Ogassawara, Juliana Sayuri 11 February 2011 (has links)
This study proposes an analysis of Le Monde Diplomatique Brasil. Created in 1954 in France, Le Monde Diplomatique currently has more than 60 international editions published in 25 languages. Since august 2007, the magazine has a Brazilian printed edition, which intends to position itself as an alternative media, publically anti-imperialist, anti-neoliberal and alterglobalization (also known as alter-mundialization from the French altermondialisme). From the editorial review of its twelve first editions published in Brazil (between August 2007 and July 2008), this study wants to highlight the ideas printed in the magazine about the social and political contemporary reality, with special attention to Latin America. Two lines are crossed in this analysis: the editorial line and the political line of Le Monde Diplomatique Brasil, underscoring its role in the fields of media and international politics. Therefore, this study wants to highlight that these two issues are cross-links of the same chain. And that points to the search for a new narrative for a possible history.

Rathé, Anita January 2009 (has links) (PDF)

Immigration in French Newspapers Post Terrorist Attacks : A study of the framing of immigration in Le Monde & Le Figaro after the Charlie Hedo attack

Marklund, Dahlia January 2018 (has links)
The purpose of this thesis is to explore how the topic of immigration was framed by the two French newspapers Le Monde and Le Figaro in their political online sections during the two weeks following the terror attack on the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in 2015. Applying frame analyses on textual articles published during this time, this paper can conclude that five frames manifested themselves. Furthermore, a high degree of political parallelism, characterized by what Robert Entman refers to as content biased news coverage, was detected that greatly distinguished the two newspapers coverage of immigration. Le Monde, commonly erred to as a left-centrist paper, never openly criticized the ruling leftist government during the time frame studied. Contrastingly, Le Figaro, commonly referred to as a right-centrist paper, was overtly sceptic towards the socialist party, and framed multiple articles arguing that the right-wing populist party Front National was unjustly treated by the left as well as arguing for the legitimacy of the right-center party UMP. Based on the theoretical approach of framing, this thesis concludes that the media culture of both Le Monde and Le Figaro display characteristics greatly influenced by their political orientations. This paper also concludes that the two newspapers’ framing of the immigration topic was directly and consequently related to actions by the controversial right-wing populist party Front National. This implies a salience of ideological orientation of the newspapers in their framing of the news framing.Whether and how this framing of the news related to the terror attacks affected the opinions of their readers would be an interesting focus for future research.

The question of the identity in the contemporary world the way media collaborates for identity construction and, more specifically, which is the Brazilian identity according to the periodical Le Monde Diplomatique Brasil are the objects of study and inquiry of this paper. Intrigued by the intrinsic doubt to each human being looking for the understanding of theirself and certain that the media has an important role in the construction of the answer to this question, we decide to investigate the Brazilian identity in a recent publication, with less than three years of existence in our contry. For such, we divide our research in two stages: theoretical discussion and analysis of the publication. We being this study approaching the concept of identity, its change throughout the time and the question of the national identify face to the globalization. After that, we talk about the communication as a symbolic activity, the emergence of the media and its implications and the question of the reception aiming to evidence the significant role of the media the construction of the identities. We continue presenting the description, the publishing that will be our analysis object. To compose a set of theoretical ideas that help us to decode the texts of our object of study, we will write about the process of newsmaking, pointing the implications of the gatekeeping in the construction of the reality, the news criteria and the influences suffered by the journalistic production. Finally, we present an analysis, based on the Content Analysis, of the twelve editions that compose the first year of circulation of Le Monde Diplomatique Brasil. We believe that this paper can collaborates to the construction of the scientific knowledge in the measure that it deals with the question of the identities in the field of the communication research and initiates the studies of a recent publication in our country

Une pragmatique du récit de science-fiction : l'exemple du Monde enfin de Jean-Pierre Andrevon / Pragmatics of science fiction narrative : the example of The World at Last by Jean-Pierre Andrevon

Ibrahim, Marwa 03 December 2016 (has links)
The majority of French research on science fiction (SF) examined its historical background, evolution, or the portrayal of various themes in SF texts (see e.g., Baudin 1971, Gattégno 1992, Grenier 1994, Goimard 1974, 1984, 2002, etc.).However, to our knowledge, no study has taken a pragmatic approach towards examining the relationship between the linguistic forms used in SF literature and their intended meaning. Most of the studies that examined text processing (see e.g., Angenot, 1978), took a traditional approach to analyze SF words in isolation from their contexts. Hence, a pragmatic analysis is needed that can lend a better understanding of the author’s ideology and his imaginary world that depicts the “serious” part of SF literature, concerning man and society. The present study seeks to address this gap in literature by analyzing a celebrated piece of SF i.e., The World At Last by Jean-Pierre Andrevon (2006) taking a pragmatic stylistic approach, based on the principles of discourse analysis. It concretely examines the potential intentions behind the use of specific linguistic means (e.g., implicatures, humor, enunciative heterogeneity) that present arguments concerning ecological issues. The preliminary results show that from a pragmatic looking glass, contrary to the cliché notions, SF discourse emerges as closer to our reality. It calls into question our present to foresee the dangers in our future, a finding which is difficult to access without taking context into account. A further finding shows that associating imaginary themes and language solidly anchored in real world contributes to the originality and to the modernity of the genre.

Srovnání rámcování Pařížské dohody ve francouzských denících Le Monde a Ouest-France v letech 2015 až 2016 / Comparison of the framing of the Paris Agreement in French journals Le Monde and Ouest-France in 2015 and 2016

Jiráčková, Magdaléna January 2022 (has links)
The Paris Agreement is one of the most important international agreements concerning environmental issues of the world. It aims to keep global warming within a safe range, primarily by reducing national greenhouse gas emissions. The Paris Agreement was adopted at the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference held in Paris in December 2015, and it came into force less than a year later. The agreement has received media attention in various countries, including France. Moreover, French politicians saw the Paris Agreement as a success of French diplomacy. The thesis is based on framing theory and uses the method of qualitative content analysis to find and name frames found in articles in the French regional daily Ouest-France and the national daily Le Monde, and then to compare them. The work focuses on the period of one year since the adoption of the agreement, specifically covering the period between 13 December 2015 and 13 December 2016 inclusive. The two selected newspapers contain the same seven frames (the important but insufficient agreement frame, the doom frame, the responsibility of all countries frame, the responsibility of France frame, the economic consequences frame, the intra-state conflict frame, and the inter-state conflict frame, with Ouest-France additionally containing the...
