A study of the transformational leardership by principal of junior high school,the organizational citizenship behavior of the teachers and the effectiveness of the schools in Kaohsiung County . Abstract The purpose of this study are¡G(1) to explore the current situation of therelationships among the transformational leardership by principal ofjunior high school, organizational citizenship behavior of the teachers andschool effectiveness. (2) to analyze the different viewpoints on the above threemain topics of teachers from different kinds background.(3) to explore therelationships among the transformational leardership by principal ofjunior high school, organizational citizenship behavior of the teachers andschool effectiveness. (4) to explore the prediction on school effectiveness of thetransformational leardership of principal, the organizational citizenshipbehavior of the teachers. Subjects were sampled from thirty-six junior high schools in Kaohsiung county. Five hundred forty-two copies of formal questionnaires were deliveredto the subject and there were four hundred seventy valid copies.The study toolis ¡§The questionnaire on the relationships among the transformationalleardership of principal, the organizational citizenship behavior of theteachers and school efficacy. The collected data were analyzed by using thestatistical methods of reliability descriptive statistics,T-test,one-way ANOVA,pearson product-moment correlation, canonical correlation and multipleregression(step-wise- regression procedure). According to the result of the data analysis, the main findings are as follows: 1. Teachers¡¦evaluation on the transformational leardership of principal is above nice leave. 2.The whole performance of the Kaohsiung county¡¦s junior high schoolteacher organizational citizenship behavior is good. 3.The whole performance of Kaohsiung county¡¦s junior high school effectiveness is middle-high level. 4.The male, the elder and the administrator have a higher sense of thetransformational leardership of principal. 5. The elder, the senior, the administrator sense more about the organizational citizenship behavior. 6. The male, the elder, the administrator sense more about the schooleffectiveness. 7. Transformational leardership conducted by principal enhancesbetter school effectiveness. 8. The teachers of the Kaohsiung county¡¦s junior high school in the urban areas and large schools sense more about the school effectiveness. 9. ¡§The identifying oneself with the organization¡¨phase in transformationalleardership of principal and the teacher organizational citizenship behavior can best predict school efficacy. The final findings and conclusion in this research could be used as areference for sahool,board of education and researchers to promote practice in operation and future research.

Individual or structure? The executive-legislature relations under divided government¡Xcase study with Kaohsiung county¡]1993-2009¡^

Thesis Abstract In recent years, each county and municipal government and parliament is leading separately by different political parties, form the so-called ¡§ the divided government¡¨ and it has already become normal gradually.This divided pattern is extended from local to the central government after 2000 General Presidential Election.So, as for central or local level, the government pattern built by administrative and legislative department, which no matter is handling by different or the same political party, the implied executive-legislature relations, leadership efficiency and administrative result then become topic and focus that scholars pays close attention to. This text drafts to such divided government¡¦s system in Kaohsiung county, under the situation of most seats controlling long-term by KMT, discussing about the executive-legislature relation in the name of YU Zheng Xian, Yang Qiu Xing, representing of DPP, who take over the county business of Kaohsiung county for 16 years (1993-2009).It is aim to find out, under the few seats of ruling party, the influence between three factors of the political relationship, interests inducement and human feeling, made by the leading strategy which administrative chief uses.Also to inspect if the structure of great power of opposite party, and the reciprocation of leading behaviors of leaders, will influence directly or indirectly the executive-legislature relations, such as like the bad inquiring atmosphere, the deducting budget widely, forcing to lay aside or reject the important bill etc. ¡@¡@In other words, under the inferior position of a few seats kept by a ruling party, the administrative chief¡¦s leading behavior and style seems extremely important.As for YU Zheng Xian, he knows ¡§political art¡¨ and local political ecology very well.He uses many kinds of strategy to achieve political support and cooperation by striving for Congressmen of different parties and he leans to the transactional leadership.However, Yang Qiu Xing is great different from Yu Zheng Xian's leadership style.After Yang Qiu Xing is on board, he is focusing in developing the vision of organizations.He does not like Yu Zheng Xian, using some strategies to trade off benefit with Congressman of different political group.Yang Qiu Xing usually judges people by facts, ot by identity, so he leans to transformational leadership.Hence, what¡¦s the influence both leadership and structure will make in the interaction of executive ¡Vlegislature of Kaohsiung county? This text tries to review, within the era of Yu Zheng Xian and Yang Qiu Xing, by literate description and statistic analysis in using the three important indicators : ¡§the executive-legislature supervising status of inquiring¡¨, ¡§deleting range of annual budge in Kaohsiung county¡¨ and ¡§adopt proportion of bill proposed by Kaohsiung county¡¨. ¡@ The result of study finds, Yu Zheng Xian would like to bend his knees and compromise with the Congressmen, therefore he won¡¦t meet too much obstructions in inquiring atmosphere, bill promotion and budget delet.This should result from his application of transaction leadership behavior.What is interesting is Yang Qiu Xing has different leading style from Yu Zheng Xian's, so have minor difference with the theory in such aspects as budget checking and the bill promotion.Therefore it shows Yang Qiu Xing's leader has not performed its function well, which should be referred to influence by structure of political party.And more, his attitude is relatively tough and has his own personal judgments, he will suffer more obstructions in various than Yu Zheng Xian in the case of lacking benefit interchange with Congressmen. In sum, if the leaders make good use of the leading behavior, regardless of its structure, can cause good executive-legislature interaction, and in promoting bill of different fields will be even relatively smooth.Therefore, the result of study find out that leading behavior do influence the operation of executive-legislature relations.

Distinctive Roles of Lead Users and Opinion Leaders in the Social Networks of Schoolchildren

Prior research has shown that both lead users and opinion leaders may propel the diffusion of innovation. This raises the question of whether lead users and opinion leaders are positioned similarly in social networks, which we address using a sample of 23 school classes consisting of 537 children. Research among children is very scarce in this particular domain. Our statistical analyses based on hierarchical linear modeling reveal two general results: first, lead users among children appear to possess a variety of links between clusters; second, opinion leaders are locally positioned within clusters of children and have many direct links. La privatisation des entreprises publiques au Vietnam figure en tête des priorités de l’agenda politique du gouvernement vietnamien depuis l’annonce de la politique Doi-moi en 1987. Cette étude examine le processus de la restructuration des entreprises d’État pendant la période entre 1991 et 2012. La recherche se base sur les théories de la gestion de l’entreprise et du développement, en particulier sur la responsabilité sociale de l’État considéré comme un acteur économique. L’étude examine aussi le cadre macroéconomique vietnamien dans lequel la privatisation s’opère. L’objectif est de déterminer les facteurs conditionnels de réussite de ce processus, en prenant comme variable le degré d’intervention de l’État dans l’économie dans le contexte autant asiatique que mondial du changement. / Restructuring state-owned enterprises in view of their privatization lies at the top of the political agenda of the Vietnamese Government since the launch of the Doi-Moi policy in 1987. The purpose of this study is to examine the macro-environment in which the privatization process of Vietnamese state-owned enterprises takes place. The period of study is between 1991 and 2012. The theoretical framework is based on corporate governance and development theories and the corporate social responsibility of the State, as an economic actor and a majority shareholder, of the country’s public companies which are being privatised. The aim of the study is to determine success factors of the privatization process in Vietnam, with the role of the State in the economy, taken as variable, and examined in the context of change, both at the Asian as well as the global context.

Reading the book of Daniel in an African context: the issue of leadership.

This thesis concerns the issues of leadership in the African context, but it derives its emphasis from the stories in Daniel 1–6 in the Old Testament, in order to comment on leadership styles, competencies, skills and the state of leadership in Africa. It is a reading from a specific context, that of someone living in present times in the Republic of Chad. The research focused mainly on the following issues: What can we learn from the stories concerning leadership in Daniel 1–6? Who are the leaders in these chapters? What is the quality of their leadership? In trying to answer these questions, the researcher had to consider the following: How was the book read and interpreted in the past? How is it currently interpreted? Looking at past research, the focus fell on: (1) the pre-critical period, (2) the historical-critical period, and (3) the period in which modern literary studies abound. Following the research history a personal reading and interpretation of the stories in Daniel 1–6 are presented. A narrative analysis is carried out and the plots of the different stories are analysed according to the quinary scheme (the initial situation, the complication, transforming action, the denouement and the final situation). The focus falls on the narrator’s presentation of the main characters and what readers can learn from these stories about leadership. Although there is attention to how scholars in the past and present have interpreted the Book of Daniel, the researcher tries to present a new interpretation by carrying out a contextual reading focusing on leadership. This aspect did not receive much attention in previous research. What is gained by this reading is then applied to the situation in the modern Republic of Chad. First, there is a detailed study of current writing by scholars as well as what they are saying about leadership. Following this, the African and Chadian contexts are considered. 公務人力訓練學習成效移轉之研究-行政院菁英領導班之哈佛大學班個案分析

本研究係以訓練移轉之理論來檢驗行政院哈佛菁英領導班之實施成效。蓋訓練移轉係受訓者在接受訓練課程後,將從課程中所學的知識與技術,應用在實際業務中問題解決之動態過程,其著重的是訓練後對所學知識技術之消化,及對職場工作之回饋,是最有效的內隱知識外顯化的展現。故訓練移轉之成功與否,可作為評估訓練課程是否有助工作的最佳方式。而哈佛菁英領導班係行政院為有系統培育具有前瞻國際視野之全觀型新世代中高階領導人員,強化其政策統合、規劃及領導管理能力並激發其內在潛能,促使我國公務部門整體人力素質提升,以提升我國國家競爭力,自94年起,與美國哈佛大學甘迺迪政府學院合作,規劃辦理菁英領導班,參加人員係由全國中央及地方機關遴選出年輕具發展潛力之科長級以上人員,因開辦不易且所費不貲,故從規劃初期即透過課程內容安排、學員推薦及遴選過程及賡續培訓措施等設計來確保訓練效益。基此,本研究參考以往訓練移轉研究文獻後,建構研究架構與自變項及依變項,並針對該班第一屆及第二屆之學員施以問卷調查後,進行因素分析,此外,並隨機挑選各10名學員之主管及同事進行深度訪談,以作為量化研究之輔助佐證資料。
