Projeto ideológico cultural no regime militar: o caso da Embrafilme e os filmes históricos e adaptações de obras literárias / An ideological cultural project under the Brazilian military regime: The role of Embrafilme in historical films and screen adaptations of literary works

Hingst, Bruno 06 May 2013 (has links)
The purpose of this study have to investigate the importance of the role by Embrafilme--the Brazilian Film Agency--in stimulating the production of thematic historical films and screen adaptations of literary works, either by means of traditional forms of funding or through the Special Program for Research of Themes for Historical Cinema, considering the political and cultural context of the Geisel government (1974- 1979). To this end, desk research and a literature survey were conducted to clarify whether Embrafilme\'s incentive for film production stemmed from a broader policy for the sector. The material thus retrieved served to expound on core guidelines of the federal government for the cultural sector and to evaluate whether they were instrumental in orienting the incentive offered for the production of historical film and screen adaptations of literary works. The results revealed that Embrafilme\'s incentive for these thematics was part of a strategy initiated by the agency\'s management board in the absence of any specific governmental policy shaping this support. For both thematics, production was significant over the timeframe investigated, when measured against the short period in which incentives were available.

MARCAS FOLKCOMUNICACIONAIS NA OBRA LITERÁRIA DE LUIZ BELTRÃO

No. of bitstreams: 1 ELIANE MERGULHAO.pdf: 1093865 bytes, checksum: e79b2226ddc68eb56d35678732082ef6 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2008-05-20 / This research is about Folkcomunication in the area of Social Communication, and analyses the literary work Beltrão Luiz, aiming to check how his work produces elements in his studies of Folkcomunication, namely, inside the Theory of the Communication of the Excluded ones (1967). For this study, stories and romances were chosen with the objective of finding in the literary text identification marks of the Folkcomunication, since the proper narrative scheme of Luiz Beltrão, happens frequently, in the presence of the political and ideological discussion between the academic culture and the popular culture, pointing out distinguished social differences. In his literary composition, Luiz Beltrão builds narratives with events that describe the reality of oppressed individuals, disclosing the everyday of these people from the less groups, always in confrontation with forces of political and social. With the theoretical support of Bourdieu (2004), who claims the theory of the fields and develops the concept of habitus, a set of social practical beliefs is established which materializes the identity of the individuals in society, particularly in the group of the excluded ones. Thus, the research has as its objective to check if in the literary composition of Luiz Beltrão there are Folkcomunication elements, as claimed here.

Srovnání filosofických a etických motivů v literárním díle Alberta Camuse a Jean-Paul Sartra / Comparison of philosophic and ethic motives in the literary work of A.Camus and J.P.Sartre

Bečvářová, Lenka January 2011 (has links)
RESUME My diploma thesis is focused on the comparison of opinions of Jean-Paul Sartre and Albert Camus concerning existential and philosophical motifs in their literary work. I tried to compare the occurrence of individual existential categories, based on selected philosophical and literary works of both authors, who rank among the French branch of atheist existentialism. The first chapter deals with basic characteristics of existential philosophy and its changes between the two wars; and the consequential spreading of this philosophy thinking in the post-war Europe, in which it achieved a great success in a few branches. Majority of this chapter is devoted to French existentialism, whose goal was to explore and describe concrete existence, while human being (existence) is identified as freedom there. It was due to Jean- Paul Sartre that French existentialism has become the most significant way of thinking. The two following chapters briefly describe the lives of Sartre and Camus; because the lives of authors who write philosophical and literary works are always interconnected with their work. The second and third chapter contain the analysis of selected works of both authors, while I didn't forget the dramatic work which is a part of philosophical ad literary work and by means of that I presented mainly...

Becoming a UNESCO City of Literature : A discourse analysis of the Gothenburg effort to become a City of Literature in the UNESCO creative cities network / Att bli en UNESCO litteraturstad : En diskursanalys av Göteborgs ansökan att bli en UNESCO litteraturstad

Wahlbom, Ebba January 2022 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to create knowledge on discursive formations surrounding literature that is being produced and/or reproduced in Sweden today. This is achieved by studying how the project group members responsible for writing the Gothenburg application to become a UNESCO City of Literature, and other key players involved in this process, argue for the values of literature and why a membership in the UNESCO creative cities network would be beneficial for Gothenburg city, its citizens and the literary field. To this end, both documents related to the process of getting Gothenburg’s candidature approved by UNESCO and interviews with the project group members responsible for writing the application to UNESCO are studied and analyzed. Eight interviews were conducted with members of the project group using a semi-structured qualitative interview methodology. The theoretical framework for this thesis consists of a foucauldian discourse analysis, ideology and studies of institutional logics in Swedish cultural politics. While analyzing the collected material, I was able to identify several dominating discursive formations about literature and literary work, as well as minor, competing discursive formations, that can all be recognized in how Swedish cultural policy have been discussed historically. These are later related to overarching ideological and political structures that are connected to them. Key findings include that literature is portrayed as a human right, as essential to a healthy, sustainable democracy and as something with inherent value. The project group members navigate predominant discursive formations and ideological understandings of literature, creating an environment where literary work is prioritized.

De Horgwarts a Paraisópolis: discurso e recepção da obra Harry Potter em um contexto de capitalismo periférico / From Hogwarts to Paraisópolis: discourse and reception of the Harry Potter literary work in a context of peripheral capitalism

Henriques, Marco Polo Ribeiro 24 September 2015 (has links)
The present study aimed to understand how the Harry Potter literary work (Brazilian edition), taking its context of production/dissemination and discourse into account, speaks to Brazilian readers, especially young residents of the Paraisópolis community in São Paulo. It has reconstituted the path taken by the work to reach Paraisópolis community\'s readers, with primary and secondary data collection from both the international and the Brazilian publishing markets. The basis for the theoretical discussion was supported on Communication Studies, historiographical studies, and Reading Sociology, which enable understanding the multiple factors involved in the practice of reading in contemporaneity, nurturing the interdisciplinary dialogue among those areas. For the constitution of the corpus, we analyzed the Brazilian edition of Harry Potter books focusing on elements of reality and ideological models that integrate the narrative, with the support of Bakhtin\'s theories, in an attempt to identify the relations involving the construction of meaning that are established between the speech in the Harry Potter series and contemporary teenage readers. This discursive corpus was used in a survey of the reception of qualitative approach carried out in Paraisópolis community with ten adolescents, spontaneous readers of the referred literary work. Two discussion groups were delimited by demographics such as gender and age, with which we carried out reading and writing sessions, group discussions, group dynamics (plays and games), exhibition of movie clips, and the application of a questionnaire consisting of open- and closed-ended questions about their socioeconomic profile and cultural habits. An in-depth interview was also conducted, with a view to collecting data and speeches that made up material for the analysis of the reception of the referred literary work. Supported by reflections concerning the areas of Communication Studies, Studies of Language, Cultural Studies, especially those dedicated to the Reception Studies, the set of procedures allowed the identification of indicators of uniqueness and cultural diversity of Paraisópolis community\'s readers, in response to hegemonic forms of communication and culture, with ambivalent aspects that challenge the dichotomous opposition inclusion/exclusion. The emergence and the analysis, from Mikhail Bakhtin\'s perspective, of unknown discursive correlations between the Harry Potter literary work and the universe of local experiences of the participants showed their positioning as enunciators, situated at a particular time in a given space, and aware of their responsible participation in the communicative process that goes beyond the limits of cultural reception and defines their particular place in the world.

Jan Klecanda - Havlasa, jeho život a vztah k Brazílii / Jan Klecanda - Havlasa, his life and relation to Brazil

Kratochvílová, Lucie January 2012 (has links)
Jan Havlasa was the first Ambassador of Czechoslovakia to Brazil, a distinguished writer and explorer. The purpose of this thesis is to present the explorer's life. Havlasa visited Slovakia after finishing secondary school, and soon after he travelled also to Italy; Saint Louis, Missouri; or the island of Tahiti. After the Paris Peace Conference in 1919, Havlasa served as the Ambassador of Czechoslovakia to Brazil (1920-1924); in 1943, Czechoslovak president Edvard Beneš called him back into diplomatic service, this time as the Ambassador to Chile. Among his most important formative experiences we can find his membership in the Opium Commission of the League of Nations. Despite the fact that Havlasa spent most of his life abroad, he never relinquished his homeland: he took interest in the situation of Czechoslovakia and fought for its independence on the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. His extensive lecturing activities, as well as his treatise Colonial Policy in Relation to the Great War earned him one year of gaol in Vienna. The thesis also takes into account Havlasa's extensive literary work and his lectures, which took place all over Czechoslovakia and during which he presented his books, photographs and travel experience to his readers and listeners.

Contributo mínimo em direito de autor: o mínimo grau criativo necessário para que uma obra seja protegida; contornos e tratamento jurídico no direito internacional e no direito brasileiro / Minimum contribute in copyright/authors right: the minimum creativity degree that a creation has to erar in order to gain copyright protection, international and Brazilian view

Carolina Tinoco Ramos 24 February 2010 (has links)
In the present work we make an international analysis of international law and Brazilian law about the minimum contribute, a requirement for copyright and authors rights protection that almost all the time has the same meaning as the originality requirement. Since the word originality not always mean the minimum degree of creativity that a creation must to bear in order to gain copyright or authors right protection, we preferred to use here, with this connotation, the expression minimum contribute. This subject still has not received much attention from Brazilian commentators and case law, in spite of its importance. The analysis focuses on the international dimension of this subject in attention to the copyrights / authors rights international character. We start with a little bit of history on the global dimension and then present the way the minimum contribute is found and guaranteed on public international law and on private international law. Thus, since the minimum contribute study is still new on Brazil, we make some terminology distinction between this expression and its meaning from other often apparent similar meaning terms and expressions on copyright. During all the work we present a lot of information and make quotation on foreign commentators, case laws and laws, in pursue of analyzing, in the broadest way possible, how the minimum contribute has been treated and discussed. Finally, we present typical and practical matters on copyright, like (i) definition of protected work, (ii) delineation of copyright requirements, (iii) plagiarism, (iv) derivative works and (v) copyright central balance. When we talk about each one of these matters, we also analyze how the minimum contribute appears and how it can influence and make contribution in finding solutions to them.

Buffon, Eliana Cristina 16 December 2014 (has links)
Submitted by Ana Guimarães Pereira (agpereir@ucs.br) on 2015-04-13T18:43:20Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Dissertacao Eliana Cristina Buffon.pdf: 4230571 bytes, checksum: 5a012ebfd900f90b62741270e1b8ed00 (MD5) / Made available in DSpace on 2015-04-13T18:43:20Z (GMT). The book above mentioned was chosen for this study because it is part of 2012´s Library in the School National Program (PNBE 2012), a range of books aimed at the early years of Elementary School in Brazil. The study means to carry out an analysis on enunciation procedures used in the construction of the work, and which can be analyzed in the context of schooled reading, meaning to contribute to students´ literacy learning process. The research can be justified on the fact that students tend to present poor reading skills, as shown in assessments made public about this area, on the complexity of the cultural products aimed at the young reader, and, besides, on the insertion of comic strips in the PNBE range of books. The investigation follows the Education, Language and Technology approach, and it is part of the Post-Graduation in Education Program of the Caxias do Sul University (PPGEd/UCS). It is also part of a research project called “Challenges and welcomings in children´s literature: the mediation of the literary reading”, which has been approved by FAPERGS and which means to study the books that have been short-listed to make up the PNBE range of books for the early years of Elementary Education. Among the authors whose ideas have contributed to the research there are: Mikhail Bakhtin (2006), Lev S. Vygotsky (1998), both of which helped on reflections upon language; Will Eisner (2012), Moacy Cirne (1972, 1973, 2000), Álvaro de Moya (1993, 2002), Paulo Ramos (2009) and Valdomiro Vergueiro (2009), who discuss aspects of the language used in comic strips; Brian Street (1984), with his studies on literacy, and Joseph Schwarcz (1982), who elaborates on the role played by illustration on children´s books, among others. The study is organized in chapters, which contemplate (a) the relations between education and language, considering the school as a space for literacy; (b) the methodological processes of the research, and (c) an analysis of the work and indication of the elements present in the making up of the title, which should be taken into consideration in the mediation of literary reading. It was the analytical description of aspects of the work chosen that guided the method, aiming to pinpoint the procedures used in the construction of this discursive modality present in the Brazilian schools´ libraries. As a result, it stands out in the studied corpus that comic books contemplate themes that make it possible to identify the student with the expressed conflict, as it presents situations that are present in daily life and that there are instances in the way the narrative is enunciated which need to be taken into consideration when mediated reading is proposed in the school environment. Last but not least, one highlights the importance of teachers being familiar with the language used in comic strips, besides its specificity as a genre so as to make it possible for them to contribute for the students´ literacy.
