Lietuvos ir Didžiosios Britanijos vadovų konfliktinės komunikacijos diskursas (1998-2008): retoriniai-kognityviniai ypatumai / Conflict Communication Discourse of Political Leaders of Lithuania and Great Britain (1998–2008): Rhetorical–Cognitive Peculiarities

Linkevičiūtė, Vilma 21 June 2011 (has links)
Šios disertacijos tyrimo objektas – kalbinės politinės konfliktinės komunikacijos išraiškos priemonės, būdingos Lietuvos ir Didžiosios Britanijos vadovų politiniame diskurse (1998–2008). Šis tyrimas atskleidžia faktą, jog kalbinės priemonės yra glaudžiai susijusios su kalbančiojo ideologija bei kultūros nulemtomis kalbinėmis praktikomis. Disertacijoje tiriamos tokios kognityvinės lingvistikos sąvokos, kaip konceptualiosios metaforos, domenas, prasmės sritis bei kalbinės priemonės – nominacijos. Žvelgiant iš siauros lingvistikos metodologijos perspektyvos, komparatyvinė analizė ir aprašomasis analitinis metodas naudojami Lietuvos ir Didžiosios Britanijos vadovų konfliktinės komunikacijos diskurso tyrime. Didžiosios Britanijos ir Lietuvos politiniame diskurse isreikštas konfliktas turi bendrų ir skirtingų bruožų. Bendrumą nulemia bendra konfliktinės komunikacijos esmė – politinių jėgų pozicijų ir interesų nesutapimai. Skirtumai remiasi įvairių politinių kultūrų ypatumais. Politinė konkurencija tiek Lietuvoje, tiek Didžiojoje Britanijoje remiasi domenais pokyčiai ir nauda. Tos pačios POLITIKA – TAI KARAS, POLITIKA – TAI KELIONĖ ir VALSTYBĖ – TAI PASTATAS metaforos Šios yra būdingos abiejų šalių politinei komunikacijai. Tačiau Didžiosios Britanijos politiniame gyvenime konfliktinė komunikacija turi ideologinį pobūdį, o Lietuvos vadovų konfliktinės komunikacijos diskurse politinis konfliktas išreikštas ne kaip ideologinis konfliktas. / The object of this research is the linguistic means of political conflict communication that are characteristic of the political discourse of the political leaders of Great Britain and Lithuania (1998–¬2008). This dissertation discloses the fact that linguistic means are closely related to the ideology of the speaker and linguistic practices are conditioned by culture. Such cognitive linguistic concepts as conceptual metaphors, domain, meaning field and such linguistic means as nominations are analysed in this dissertation. Looking from the narrow perspective of linguistic methodology, comparative analysis and descriptive-analytical methods are applied in the conflict communication discourse research of the political leaders of Lithuania and Great Britain. The conflict which is expressed in the political discourse of these countries has both similarities and differences. Resemblance is determined by the general essence of conflict communication, i.e., the discrepancy between positions taken by political forces and interests. Differences are based on the peculiarities of the two political cultures. Political competition in both Lithuania and Great Britain is based on the domains change and benefit. The same POLITICS IS WAR, POLITICS IS A JOURNEY and THE STATE IS A BUILDING conceptual metaphors are characteristic of political communication of both countries. However, conflict communication has an ideological nature in the political life of Great Britain while in the discourse... [to full text]

Installation art and memory : a practice-as-research exploration

Barber, James January 2012 (has links)
This practice-as-research project investigates how a piece of site-responsive Installation Art, titled Triple Point Dunnage (exhibited in Royal William Yard, June 2009), can be used to generate knowledge about memory work through experience of site. Working in dialogue with the ideas of Daniel C. Dennett, Lucy Lippard and Gaston Bachelard, I attempted to create a permeable and fluctuating creative setting for the memory work of participants. An approach that used site as a stimulant within a process which also incorporated theoretical themes. During the period of design and construction, I interacted with and recorded interviews with people who had a personal connection with the site or with an interest in how memory works. The final installation presented layers of spoken fragmented content in a dialectic relationship within the installation’s spatial construction. The responses of the installation’s visitors and participants were collated through a response book and interviews. These were analysed in order to discover to what extent, if at all, the properties I had developed and designed into the work had shaped the engagements of the participants. The multi-valented properties of the work generated an array of responses that suggested that the viewers had fashioned their experience by blending the fragmented stories of others with their own personal histories. This engagement resembles Dennett’s concept of “self-narrator” and resonates with Bachelard’s concept of the fusion of physical and psychological space and Lippard’s understanding of place. By exploring memory through site Triple Point Dunnage generated a sense of place that was a fusion of the participants’ responses to the external physical environment and their associative memories stimulated by the affective fragmented properties of the work.

Analogias e metáforas no ensino de física : o discurso do professor e o discurso do aluno /

Bozelli, Fernanda Cátia. January 2005 (has links)
Abstract: The relation between language and science teaching has been a constant object of research in the last years, becoming a promising research line in Science Education. Among these researches, come up studies on the use of analogies and metaphors as mediator didatic resource between teaching and learning processes. In the specific case of the research in physics teaching, many of the researchers has showed interest in raising physical phenomena that can be compared through the use of these language figues. However, the analogies and/or metaphors production conditions by teachers or students are still little studied and that verification was important for the design of this research. Aiming to improve the studies in that way, we tried here to answer questions like: hos are analogies and metaphors used in physics classes? / Mestre

Estratégias retóricas em editoriais jornalísticos on-line: a função da metáfora como saliência / Rhetorical strategies in journalistic editorials online: the function of metaphor as salience

Pereira, Daniela Lasso de La Vega 25 May 2018 (has links)
The aim of the study is to analyze the use of metaphors as figures of language and to analyze the use of conceptual metaphors in selected newspaper editorials: O Estado de S.Paulo, Folha de S.Paulo, Gazeta do Povo, O Globo and Gaúcha Zero Hora. This analyzis is based in metaphors as rhetorical figures in accordance to Perelman & Tyteca (1958) in their The new Rhetoric A treatise on Argumentation, and the conceptual metaphors in accordance to Lakoff & Johnson (1980) in Metaphors We Live By. In this regard, we want to observe how the orator/editorialist makes the metaphorical application in their texts, in order to understand their argumentative purpose towards the audience/reader. The revision of the text includes the identification of the different metaphors as rhetorical figures and as conceptual metaphors based on our theoretical research. Therefore, we intend to demonstrate how it is possible to create technical-scientific conditions to unite these two theories (Perelman & Tyteca and Lakoff & Johnson in a research of the different metaphors in the diverse constructions linguistic of the editorials of online newspapers.

Anúncios publicitários na escola: texto, prática discursiva e leitura(s)

Menezes, Ângela Maria de Araújo 19 February 2018 (has links)
Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / The contemporary world establishes itself as an invitation to read. We see the present world not only through it, but also through the screens of electronics, posters, billboards, etc. This quick reading, which involves multiple semioses, requires the students to read proficiently. National and international assessments indicate weakness in the educational system and show that in reading, the brazilian student is in critical condition, many of them unable to overcome the understanding of textual superficiality. At this level, most of the students in the third step (eighth grade), class B, of Reference Center for Youth and Adult Education Prof. Severino Uchôa, state college located in the central area of Aracaju (SE). In order to lead students to a more conscious and critical reading, we prepared a proposal of intervention, from the genre of commercials. This proposal is based on three-dimensional model of Fairclough (2001), and on postulates of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), which sees the discourse as a linguistic, discursive and social practice. The conceptual metaphors, which are manifested in our discourses, are also present in this work, as a way of adding meaning to the reading of the genre in question. Our theoretical support was based on scholars such as Bakhtin (1992), Carvalho (2014), Pedrosa (2008), Lakoff & Johnson (2009), Marcuschi (2008), Freire (2016), Kleiman (2003), Foucambert (1994), Meurer (2014), Rojo (2009, 2012), Ramalho & Rezende (2011), among others. In this endeavor, we used the research-action methodology, having as object of research the action/reflection/action, in a construction of the teacher/student partnership. In the present research, of the 22 evaluated students, 17 presented a progress at reading of advertising texts, showing that working with a critical discursive perspective in reading is a way to be followed by education professionals who wish to broaden the reading awareness of their learners.

Rajaonarivo, Hiary Landy 29 June 2018 (has links)
This thesis focus on a proposition that helps humans during the exploration of database. The particularity of this proposition relies on a co-evolution principle between the user and an intelligent interface. It provides a support to the understanding of the domain represented by the data. A metaphor of living virtual museum is adopted. This museum evolves incrementally according to the user's interactions. It incarnates both the data and the semantic information which are expressed by a knowledge model specific to the domain of the data. Through the topological organization and the incremental evolution, the museum personalizes online the user's exploration. The approach is insured by three main mechanisms: the evaluation of the user profile modelled by a dynamical weighting of the semantic information, the use of this dynamic profile to establish a recommendation as well as the incarnation of the data in the living museum. The approach has been applied to the heritage domain as part of the ANTIMOINE project, funded by the National Research Agency (ANR). The genericity of the latter has been demonstrated through its application to a database of publications but also using various types of interfaces (website, virtual reality).Experiments have validated the hypothesis that our system adapts itself to the user behavior and that it is able, in turn, to influence him. They also showed the comparison between a 2D interface and a 3D interface in terms of quality of perception, guidance, preference and efficiency.

Involvement in design projects is a complex process which begins with a usually poorly defined and badly structured problem. The solution of design problems goes through various projecting strategies. This paper investigates a projecting strategy translated into a tool called mood board. The assumption of this research is one of regarding the mood board as a visual interface constructing metaphors which facilitate the generation of project ideas and concepts through the organization and relationship between the images it sustains. In this research the mood board is being investigated in the context of the process of projects in design, advertising, fashion consultancy and graphic signature projects. At the end, it is hoped to contribute to a better comprehension of the concept of this design tool, its characteristics, its different construction logics and its functions on the investigated project processes
