Eduardo López-Chavarri Marco y su aportación a la música para piano solo

In this paper, we go deeper into the knowledge of Valencian and Spanish music through the multifaceted figure of the composer, musicologist and Valencian critic Eduardo López-Chavarri Marco, mainly, from his piano work. In his almost 100 years of existence, López-Chavarri explored severals artistic fields and became interested in several musical trends, to which he contributed in a very outstanding way with a large number of works, many of them with the presence of pianoforte. Hence, within its extensive creation, the piano repertoire offers us an example of some of the different styles that happened all along the 20th century. This thesis will focus and analyze his work with this instrument, although we shall also be discussing an overview of his whole work. Specifically, we will refer to the twenty originals and complete piano compositions. Some of them belong to a series or a cycle, although they have been popularized independently, especially by their outstanding students. From the analysis of Eduardo López-Chavarri Marco's personality and from the study of a selection of his compositions, especially those of piano solo, it has been observed that his music is constructed from a strong burden of popular elements that represent in a perfect way its Valencian character and style. All this, in accordance with the nationalistic and impressionistic musical tendency that prevailed in Spain and Europe with figures such as Manuel de Falla, Enrique Granados or Maurice Ravel, among others. Furthermore, his activity in several fields was a turning point or paradigm which was followed by subsequent Valencian composers. / En el presente trabajo, profundizamos en el conocimiento de la música valenciana y española a través de la multifacética figura del compositor, musicólogo y crítico valenciano, por citar sólo tres de sus muchas actividades, de Eduardo López-Chavarri Marco, a partir, fundamentalmente, de su obra para piano. En sus casi 100 años de vida, López-Chavarri hizo incursiones en varios campos artísticos y se interesó por varias corrientes musicales, a las que contribuyó, de forma muy destacada, con un gran número de obras, muchas de las cuales, cuentan con la presencia del piano. Así, dentro de su amplia creación, el repertorio pianístico nos ofrece una muestra de algunos de los diferentes estilos que se suceden a lo largo del siglo XX. Esta tesis se centrará y analizará, principalmente, su obra con este instrumento, aunque también trataremos una panorámica del conjunto de su producción. Concretamente, nos referiremos a las veinte composiciones, originales y completas para piano. Algunas de ellas pertenecen a una serie o un ciclo, aunque hayan sido popularizadas de forma independiente, sobre todo por sus destacados alumnos. Del análisis de la personalidad de Eduardo López-Chavarri Marco y del estudio de una selección de sus composiciones, especialmente, las de piano solo, se ha podido observar que su música está construida a partir de una fuerte carga de elementos populares que representan, de forma perfecta, su carácter y estilo valencianos. Todo ello, en consonancia con la tendencia musical nacionalista e impresionista que imperaba tanto en España como en Europa, con figuras como Manuel de Falla, Enrique Granados o Maurice Ravel, entre otros. Así mismo, su actividad en varios campos representó un punto de inflexión o paradigma que fue seguido por compositores posteriores valencianos. / En el present treball, aprofundim en el coneixement de la música valenciana i espanyola a través de la multifacètica figura del compositor, musicòleg i crític valencià, per citar només tres de les seves moltes activitats, d' Eduardo López-Chavarri Marco, a partir, fonamentalment, de la seua obra per a piano. En els seus quasi 100 anys de vida, López-Chavarri va fer incursions en diversos camps artístics i es va interessar per diversos corrents musicals, a les que va contribuir, de manera molt destacada, amb un gran nombre d'obres, moltes de les quals, compten amb la presència del piano. Així, dins de la seua àmplia creació, el repertori pianístic ens ofereix una mostra d'alguns dels diferents estils que se succeeixen al llarg del segle XX. Aquesta tesi es centrarà i analitzarà, principalment, la seva obra amb aquest instrument, encara que també tractarem una panoràmica del conjunt de la seua producció. Concretament, ens referirem a les vint composicions, originals i completes per a piano. Algunes d'elles pertanyen a una sèrie o un cicle, encara que hagin estat popularitzades de forma independent, sobretot pels seus destacats alumnes. De l'anàlisi de la personalitat d'Eduardo López-Chavarri Marco i de l'estudi d'una selecció de les seues composicions, especialment, les de piano sol, s'ha pogut observar que la seua música està construïda a partir d'una forta càrrega d'elements populars que representen, de forma perfecta, el seu caràcter i estil valencians. Realiza un análisis para determinar las características del periodismo narrativo peruano (2006 al 2013) en base al trabajo de David Hidalgo, Daniel Titinger, Marco Avilés y Juan Manuel Robles. Se analizaron diez crónicas de los cuatro autores mencionados utilizando el análisis narratológico postulado por Gérard Genette y simplificado para este trabajo. Modelo computacionalmente eficiente de marcos de acero incluyendo efectos no-lineales

Ingeniero Civil / La respuesta dinámica no lineal de un conjunto de marcos de acero es estudiada por medio de un modelo simplificado. El ajuste a un modelo parsimónico se realiza mediante un análisis estático no lineal que tome en cuenta efectos de modos superiores (en particular del segundo modo). Esto genera una mejor predicción de la respuesta para el caso de los pisos superiores (donde el efecto del segundo modo es más relevante), manteniendo la calidad para los pisos inferiores con respecto al ajuste considerando únicamente el primer modo. La eficiencia del modelo radica principalmente en su versatilidad para implementar distintas histéresis y el reducido tiempo de cálculo por sismo, siendo en promedio de 0.2 [s] para los casos tri-lineales y 0.06 [s] para la histéresis de BoucWen. Se estudia el efecto de introducir incertidumbres tanto en las excitaciones de la base (lo cual se logra mediante la generación de sismos sintéticos) como en la estructura. En general se observa que los valores medios de la respuesta son poco sensibles a la incerteza del 10% supuesta en las matrices de rigidez y masa, pero la covarianza tiende a aumentar entre un 1% y un 3% siendo más importante el efecto en pisos superiores. La generación de curvas de fragilidad permite estudiar el comportamiento de la estructura frente a un banco de sismos con la variabilidad intrínseca de los registros naturales, para niveles crecientes de demanda. Todos los modelos presentan un buen desempeño sísmico, estando casi todos por debajo del 10% de probabilidad de colapso frente a una demanda de pga de 1[g].

This bachelor thesis focuses on literary depictions of personal experiences of living as non-British in the UK following the referendum on leaving the European Union in 2016. The purpose of the thesis is to analyze what Brexit as a phenomena does with individuals’ views of themselves and the society in which they live. The thesis rests upon a hypothesis that Brexit will affect both subjective notions of one's identity and ideas about the individual's role in a social community. However, the question remains how this can be expressed in literary form? In order to answer this question, two autobiographical books written in Italian are reviewed. These are La Mia Brexit by the comedian Francesco De Carlo and Brexit Blues by the journalist Marco Varvello. As mentioned, the focus is on analyzing the relationship between Brexit and the main characters' ideas about identity and social community. An attempt is also made to interpret the texts using the narrative concept of Turning points, with the aim of studying whether Brexit can be likened to this in the two books. The main conclusion of the thesis revolves around the concept of uncertainty, in which Brexit as a phenomenon mainly contributes to various uncertainties in the characters' views on identity and community. It is also noted that Brexit can be likened to narrative turning point, but that the characters in the books are uncertain what this turning point means.

This dissertation consists of three solo recitals and one lecture recital. The repertoire of all programs is composed of music written specifically for the trombone plus two transcriptions of works for voice. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the use of selected vocal pedagogical material as a means of developing musicianship for the trombonist. The historical relationship of the voice and the trombone is traced through written documentation and musical composition. Similarities between the development of legato technique for the vocal student and the trombonist are examined. A brief history of the vocalise and its pedagogical function is presented. The development of expressive musical performance for the trombonist is explored through the use of examples from three different vocalises of Marco Bordogni.

This thesis investigates the discourse patterns of Donald Trump, Marco Rubio, and Jeb Bush during the Republican primary campaign from August 2015 through January 2016. The goal of this study is to identify differences among the candidates’ discourse patterns, particularly those distinct to the discourse style of Donald Trump, on the basis of a newly compiled corpus from their respective debates and speeches. This corpus analysis reveals differences in terms of readability and lexical choice that distinguish the speech style of Donald Trump from Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio and identifies metaphors utilized by Donald Trump. Drawing heavily from the research of Charles Fillmore and George Lakoff, this study also illustrates the importance of metaphors and frames within political discourse, and the corpus analysis of Republican candidates during the 2016 election provides clear evidence that candidates use frames and metaphors to create a unique profile. / Includes bibliography. / Thesis (M.A.)--Florida Atlantic University, 2016. / FAU Electronic Theses and Dissertations Collection

Besides that, the forms of utilization of the 7-strings guitar in “choro” and “samba” were investigated, as well as the use of the bass beat in MPB, among other musical constructions typical of the guitar role in the tradition of MPB as a way of subsidize the proposed arranges. / Esta pesquisa tem como proposta a elaboração de quatro arranjos para o violão de 8 cordas, objetivando demonstrar e explorar as potencialidades desse instrumento no acompanhamento do canto popular. Para a realização deste artigo foram utilizadas transcrições das canções “Consolação” de Baden Powell e Vinicius de Moraes (1913-1980) e “Capitu” de Luiz Tatit (1951), que forneceram a base para a criação dos quatro arranjos. Além disso, foram investigadas as formas de utilização do violão de 7 cordas no choro e no samba, bem como o uso das “levadas” do contrabaixo na MPB, entre outras construções musicais típicas do papel do violão na tradição da MPB como forma de subsidiar os arranjos propostos. !!
