Environmental adjustments of the mobile preschools in UppsalaJernlund, Anna, Pedersen, Niklas January 2017 (has links)
The mobile preschools of Uppsala are buses that are provided as a complement for stationary preschools. The buses are connected to one stationary preschool that provides the necessities such as food and a place for the children to be before and after the daily trips. In Uppsala, there are five mobile preschool buses and they have been operated since 2009. For the bus to provide heat, warm food and energy for activities on the bus, there is a generator installed that runs on biodiesel. The emissions from the generator, in combination with the loud noises that it emits, are of concern for both the children and educators on the bus as well as the people around it. This has caused for alternative ways to deliver electricity to the bus. This study examines three scenarios for delivering electricity and tries to evaluate what the best option could be from different Points of view. The three scenarios are replacing the generator with either a battery, replacing the generator with electricity poles and to replace the generator with a more efficient and quieter one. When evaluating the different scenarios from an economical point of view, the study found that the electricity poles would be the best option. When evaluating the best option with respect to the children and educators, the study found that the battery would be the best option. The negative consequences for continuing to use a generator to supply electricity would be a health hazard for the children and a limitation for the educators in the freedom of choosing location for the bus to visit.

Utmaningar och barns sampel i olika lärmiljöer : En studie om den mobila förskolanAbusaleem, Mihaela January 2017 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to investigate the perceptions of the preschool teachers, working with the preschool bus, regarding challenges and children's interactions in different learning environments offered by mobile preschool. The metod used in this study is the qualitative semi-structured interviews with four preschool teachers. The theoretical ground used to perform the analyse in the study is represented by socio-cultural perspective and hermeneutic research effort. The study shows that the interaction between children is the same in all environments but that the interaction between children and the environment might be different depending on the development and intrests of the preschool children. The survey shows that this interaction between children and the environment begins before the bus week and that the starting point in the interaction can be expressed by intrest, bus destinations and preschool topic. The survey shows that one challenge might be that the preschool children need to be able to adapt to more environments than they are used to. The survey even shows that such challenge can be even greater if there are children with special needs in the group. The preschool bus can be also a challenge in bad weather days since the children have to share space and material.

Att bli ett mobilt förskolebarn : Om barns socialisation under en prova-på-dag.Jenny, Kimhag January 2019 (has links)
The mobile preschool are preschools in buses who travels to different locations where the children spend the day. It allows children to spend time in a variety of public spaces as well as it enables ac- cess to nature, green spaces and physical activity. This study use already collected video material from a larger ethnographic research project about the mobile preschool. The aim of this study is to look at the socializationprocess during a priming event in a mobile preschool where a group of children who have taken part in the preschool during one year will meet a group of visiting children who will begin in the preschool in the autumn. A priming event is common in the mobile preschool as well as in transitions within ordinary preschools and in the transition from preschool to school. During this priming event the transition occurs between the experienced child and the inexperienced child to create an understanding of how to be a mobile preschooler. Results show that by taking part in this priming event and by interacting with children and teachers the visiting children learn diffe- rent competences that are needed when becoming a mobile preschool child. The children and educators interact on what rules and skills are important when becoming a competent mobile pre- schooler. These skills include, being able to walk long distances, to keep the line together, to be aware of different safety aspects, to be quiet whilst travelling on the bus, to learn what kind of acti- vities one can do in different places and how to get your afternoon snack. This priming event where a group of experiences children meet the visiting children is also a unique event who makes them masters and novices, which in in line with theories about peripheral participation. The result show that when the experienced child are taking a leader role they guide, tell and show the novice child how to act as a mobile preschool child. By telling details about what is going to happen, tell and show what is expected and guide them during the activities. The experienced child take responsibi- lity and the inexperienced child tries to follow as they are told, the result aslo show that one the ex- perience children has been told by the teachers to help the visting children. During this priming event in a mobile preschool the socializationprocess takes place through the children’s participation, interaction and learning.

Den mobila förskolans roll för barns läroprocesser : kvalitativ studie om hur pedagoger upplever den mobila förskolans påverkan på barns utveckling av kunskaper och meningsskapande / The role of mobile preschools in children's learning processes : qualitative study on how teachers perceive the mobile preschool influences on children's development of knowledge and meaningMeyer Orsén, Eva January 2014 (has links)
Mobile Preschool is a phenomenon that has begun to take place and is growing rapidly as a supplement to the ordinary preschool pedagogy. It has risen as a result of the changes in society which requires preschools and schools to meet children´s and student´s needs in learning. There are many opinions about what is good or less good for children's learning and development, but there is a lack of all-embracing research about Mobile Preschool that supports new assumptions, thoughts, and ideas. To understand the actual learning, I have chosen to highlight the theoretical musings from a socio-cultural perspective that has been paired with research about both preschools and schools. The results show that teachers see the Mobile Preschool as a tool that makes it easier for them to carry out their mission to make sure the children learn and develop. Children's language development, their understanding of different contexts and the development of their gross motor skills are things that educators say are specifically developed through Mobile Preschool.

En öde ö som flyter runt : en kvalitativ studie av hur mobila och stationära förskolepedagoger uppfattar de organisatoriska förutsättningarna för att hantera en dubbel enhet / A deserted island floating around : a qualitative study about how mobile and stationary preschool pedagogues perceive the organizational condition for managing a dual unitWickholm, Jennie January 2017 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to examine how mobile and stationary pedagogues experience the cooperation between the two units and how the pedagogues perceive the organizational conditions for managing a dual unit. Furthermore is the study also examine whether there are any different perceptions of working methods in each other's activities and if this has an impact on the children at preschool. In order to be able to answer these questions, I have chosen to make qualitative interviews at two different stationary preschools and two different mobile units/buses. I have interviewed four pedagogues, two from stationary units and two from mobile units. In my study I can see patterns in that bus pedagogues perceive themselves as be an ”own preschool” or ”own island” where they express "take care" of themselves. Nor do they perceive that they need to adapt to what’s happening on the preschool, for example, in case of illness. But they have a need to belong to the "house" when it comes to getting help during planning times. The stationary pedagogues perceive as the bus pedagogues do not see the entire preschool as a common organization that the bus pedagogues only cares for their own needs. The stationary pedagogues perceive that the mobile pedagogues exclude themselves but the mobile pedagogues perceive that they get excluded. The result of this study points that management should be aware of the strong impact of previous traditions and approaches in a working group or individual. Without clear leadership, too much space is given to the pedagogues own "profit-making" purposes, which can have an impact on the children's opportunities and to become in the preschool environment.
