Background Malnutrition in hospitalized patients has a high prevalence. This led to an action plan against malnutrition that was conducted in 2012 at Enköpings hospital. This paper investigated the nursing staff perceptions of this project on nutrition and nutrient intake in two different departments, and whether these perceptions differ between departments. Method An inductive approach with semi-structured interview was used in interviews with eight persons from the staff of the two departments of the hospital in Enköping involved in the project. Interviews were recorded, transcribed and analyzed by content analysis. Results In the interview material four categories were identified as well as six different subcategories. The different categories were: "Attitude", "Knowledge", "Procedures" and "Workload". The results showed that there were differences in attitude to the project by the two departments. There were also differences in perceptions about the knowledge level of the staff who worked on the project. However, the staffs of the two departments agreed that there existed a high workload and inadequate procedures on the wards. Conclusions There was a distinction in the perception of the level of expertise of the staff but consensus regarding inadequate procedures and workload. The differences in attitude are considered due to the high workload and staff turnover but also diffuse professional roles. Further studies in this area is of value to answer more concretely why a department achieves better results than an equivalent department in the same hospital. This essay has only studied if workload and working environment can affect the reception of new routines, so there is scope to identify additional factors.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The work was realized with objective to use InraPorc® model as nutritional
adjustment tool for growing and finishing pigs, in Brazilian commercial production
context. The pre-experimental period was realized in a production commercial unity
of swine with capacity to 432 pigs. This period was realized data collection to
nutritional program definition, calibration of animal profile and nutritional
adjustments. Animal profile was collected through weighing of 20% of pigs and
monitoring feed intake each pen. The data collected was inserted in the InraPorc® to
make the simulations and to propose adjustments to conventional nutritional
program. Already in the experimental period was realized a comparison between
conventional nutritional program (CNP) and adjusted nutritional program to estimate
nutritional requirements through InraPorc® for the animal profile in study (ANP).
Were utilized 432 pigs with average body weight of 21.9kg in a completely
randomized design. The pig performance do not affected (P>0.05) by nutritional
programs. On experimental period, the daily intakes of digestible lysine, total
phosphorus and digestible phosphorus in the CNP was higher (P<0.01) than ANP.
The pigs of CNP had backfat thickness 8% higher (P<0.05) than pigs of ANP. On
Brazilian commercial production context, the InraPorc® model can be utilized with
advantage in the adjustment of nutritional programs for growing and finishing pigs.
dietas, programa alimentar, parametrização do perfil animal e ajustes nutricionais.
No período

CoordenaÃÃo de AperfeÃoamento de Pessoal de NÃvel Superior / In order to evaluate the effects of choline supplementation on meat quail feed, it was performed two experiments. At first we were hosted 480 Italian quails of both sexes, 7 days old and weighing 43  0.22g, distributed in a completely randomized design with 6 treatments and 5 replicates of 16 birds. In the second, they were housed 540 Italian quails of both sexes, with 1 day old average weight of 8  0.33g, distributed in a completely randomized design with 6 treatments and 5 repetitions with 18 birds each. In both experiments, the treatments consisted of the addition of choline chloride in feed levels: 0; 0.025; 0.05; 0.075, 0.1 and 0.125%. The experimental diets were formulated to be iso nutrient except choline levels. At the end of the trial period (42 days), the parameters were evaluated: feed intake, weight gain, feed conversion, carcass yield, breast, thigh and drumstick, proportion of abdominal fat and liver and liver composition (dry matter and ether extract). The data were submitted to regression analysis. In both experiments, there was no significant effect of choline supplementation on the performance variables, carcass characteristics and liver composition. When the amount of choline suplemented the ingredients for 1,546 mg of choline / kg diet, supplementation of this vitamin is not required for quails.
The purpose of this study was evaluate players\' performance by different hydration conditions during a soccer game. 20 players of the Military Organization of the Brazilian Army who were part of soccer team\'s corporation were studied. They formed 2 teams and, by chance, according to their positional rules .were divided ,in three groups, depending on the hydration condition. All the. players were submitted to the same conditions, so 3 soccer games were accomplished with those groups: 1) group CHO (ingested (150 ml), , intervals of 15 minutes, a drink with carbohydrate (6%) and salts minerals); 2)group Placebo (ingested (150 ml), in intervals of 15 minutes, with placebo solution) and; 3) group control (they did not ingest any liquid during the game). It was verified: density of the urine, body weight, hematocrit, hemoglobin (before and after each game) and, during the game heart rate; time spent running and the number of sprints. The loss of body weight (group CHO: 1,72 kg; group PL: 1,63 kg and .control group : 2,25 kg) and the dehydration degree (group, CHO: 2,31 %; group PL: 2,24% and , control group: 3,14%) were larger statistically significant in control group. Related to performance during the games it ,was observed that the\' falling between the first and the second time was larger in the control group (24,85%) than in carbohydrate group (11,31 %) and placebo(11,85%). The other variables did . not present any significant statistically difference . As general conclusion our data suggest that players presented a better performance during the match when a drink with carbohydrate Was offered during the game
