The methodological approach adopted was the qualitative one, from a case study, associated with document analysis and bibliographic. Reference in the design of the pedagogical dimension of Human Rights as a priority field for the theoretical distribution, historical and methodological of Human Rights, highlighting, in this context, the intercultural perspective of Human Rights. Paulo Freire, and other great thinkers of Human Rights, leads the nuclear axis of theoretical framework who dares to think of history as a possibility and not as determination, and the school as a space of the production of knowledge. It shows the construction, in Brazil, of public policies for Human Rights: the introduction of the Human Rights as a crosscutting theme in formal education in Brazil, incorporating the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in the Law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education (LDB nº 9.394/1996), as well as the regulation of education in / for Human Rights by MEC ((Resolution/CNE/CP nº1/2012). Points out the challenge to overcome the discourse of dialogue and respect to human dignity beyond the theory and school space, in a reality marked by violence and social exclusion. Finally, argues that education in / for Human Rights, directed to the emancipation of the individuals, extrapolates the condition of educational policy intention of school, to become a social right and human systematized from the pedagogical practices in everyday school life.

It is the oldest recorded neurological disease and has been surrounded by myths, mistaken beliefs and preconceptions. Three professionals work with epileptic patients on a daily basis: teachers, physical educators and physicians . This study aimed to analyze and compare the level of knowledge, preconceptions and attitudes of undergraduate students in the courses of Pedagogy, Physical Education and Medicine, future professionals who will deal with epileptic patients. This descriptive observational study was conducted with 286 university undergraduates of both sexes (women 99/34.6% and men 187/65.4%) from the first to fourth year of Pedagogy, Physical Education and Medicine courses at the Universidade Estadual Rio Grande do Norte (UERN), with mean age of 23 years. A validated and adapted 17-question questionnaire, divided into nine knowledge-based questions, five related to preconceptions and three on attitudes, was applied. Results allowed elaboration of a manuscript entitled Comparative Analysis of Knowledge, Attitude and Preconceptions in University Undergraduates of Pedagogy, Physical Education and Medicine Courses in Relation to Epilepsy. The findings of this article show that knowledge of epilepsy in the three groups is very satisfactory. The low level of preconception indicates that educational or clarifying information is being transmitted, albeit by television, a layman s information vehicle, which has undoubtedly contributed to reducing the stigma of epilepsy through educational information. Results also suggest a lack of knowledge on how to act during a seizure, especially in education professionals. Although there are limitations in our sample, the relevance and contribution of this study is to call attention to the importance and need for these future professionals to be informed and learn correct attitudes with respect to epilepsy during their academic formation. This is essential at a time when the disease is being brought out of the shadows. This research was supported by the Office of the Dean of Teaching, and Deans of Pedagogy, Physical Education and Medicine at UERN. The research was made possible by the multidisciplinary interaction among a physical educator, child neurologist and statistician, all contributing to achieving the aims set out here / epilepsia ? uma desordem cr?nica do sistema nervoso central mais freq?ente caracterizada por um descompasso el?trico nos circuitos cerebrais, tida como a doen?a neurol?gica mais antiga e esteve sempre cercada por mitos, cren?as e preconceitos.

In this scenario, a school is set up. To think of jail is to rethink the body of many people in degrading conditions of survival. The story portrayed the prison used as a place of punishment, torture and death for any individual who deviated from socially constructed standards at different historical moments. Today, the reality portrayed is the domination of criminals in closed structures, even over the eyes of penitentiary agents and society and without any goal of regeneration, because their practices, besides imprisoning the body, damage the soul by the minimum conditions of survival. But the prison does not establish a total social dissociation, because in its buildings circulates family, agents, lawyers and all those involved in this complex system. This coexistence is difficult because it is permeated by several problems that reflect life in this social locus. In this sense, the school appears in this space as an alternative in the process of resocialization of these inmates. Even offering remission of the sentence, the adhesions to the study of the prison population are very low compared to the work that, besides the remission, also offered some remuneration. The individuals who are there, almost in their entirety, are black, from the most impoverished layers of society, with some kind of vice and family disruption. Based on these contexts, this research seeks to study the social marks and portraits of these individuals discriminated and marginalized socially. Prisons do not play their role as a social regenerator and these obstacles create the need to study the motives behind the search for deviant and aggressive patterns in society. The object of study is the letters of students from a school in the prison system of São Paulo. The hypothesis pointed out is that the stigma of prejudice will be present in the life trajectory of students detained in a prison in the state of São Paulo. Our objective is to identify the processes of subjectivation grooved and crossed by discrimination and prejudice in the life trajectory of these subjects. The method used in this study is the qualitative, through field research in letters. Twenty letters were collected in 2015 from students detained in a penitentiary of Franco da Rocha in the science classes of a linked school and inserted in the Education Program in the Prisons of the Government of the State of São Paulo. Among them, we chose 9 letters for analysis. All of them demonstrate that these subjects are / have been victims of discriminatory actions in social relations, as well as fragile and unstructured family relationships, and are still marked by prejudice in their life trajectories. The school, in this context, seems to exercise a power of liberation through educational practice and conquest of citizenship and the remission of their sentences in prison.

Prekoncept syntaktických vztahů koordinace, apozice a dominace u žáků ZŠ / Preconception of the Syntactic Relations of Coordination, Aposition and Dominance at Elementary School

Mazánková, Anna January 2020 (has links)
The objective of the diploma thesis Preconception of the Syntactic Relations of Coordiantion, Aposition and Dominance at Elementary School is to discover whether pupils in the 5th , 6th and 7th grade of elementary school are able to distinguish syntactic relations. At first, the issue of the preconception is defined in the context of constructivist teaching concept, which works with the preconceptions actively. After that, the concept of syntactic relations is described in linguistic literature and textbooks, Framework Educational Programme, and methodological publications. A research tool which consists of special prepared exercises for the research purpose of this thesis was used to investigate the preconception of syntactic relations. The pupils did these exercises individually. By means of semi-structured dialogues it was investigated, how were the pupils thinking during the work. The dialogues were recorded, transcribed and analysed. The research sample comprised of 35 pupils from the 5th to 7th grade of a Prague elementary school. The research shows that the pupils are able to think about syntactic relations on a pre-conceptual basis spontaneously but the interference of the school teaching shows in the way of their thinking, namely in a formal approach to categorization and primary looking...

Prekoncepce žáků druhého stupně o fungování internetu / Preconceptions of secondary school students about the internet

Yaghobová, Anna January 2021 (has links)
Children bring to school preconceptions about various phenomena. At the same time, they form mature conceptions during the course of lessons. It is important to know what these preconceptions and conceptions are for the purposes of development of curricula of respective subjects. In the Czech Republic, no study has yet mapped children's preconceptions about the functioning of the Internet; to our knowledge, a larger such study was carried out abroad almost 10 years ago (as concerns upper primary school children). The aim of the present work was to map preconceptions about the Internet among 5th and 9th grade students and then to examine their "correctness", i.e. whether they correspond to true statements about the Internet. The work includes a proposal for diagnosing erroneous preconceptions and instructional procedures for eliminating erroneous preconceptions. The research was conducted using the method of thematic and frequency analyses of semi-structured interviews conducted with 56 pupils (28 of whom were in grade 5 and 28 from grade 9) from different types of schools across the country. The results show that children's knowledge is rather incomplete, in about half of the cases rather structured, in the other half rather fragmented, at least in part. Occasionally they have wrong preconceptions,...

Meanings of Preconception Health to Overweight Women in an Economically Depressed County

Balogh, Valeria Ninette 01 January 2019 (has links)
The intention-behavior gap between receiving professional health information and transitioning to improved health behaviors prior to conception is not well understood. In order to improve preconception health across the board, a more integrative understanding of the problem must present itself. This study combined elements from the theory of planned behavior, self-determination theory, and the bioecological model of human development as it's foundation. Qualitative phenomenology and semistructured face-to-face interviews were used to gain a deeper understanding of the ways in which nine overweight and obese women described preconception intentions and beliefs and the bioecological experiences leading to those beliefs. Interpretation of the results suggested socio-environmental conditions that affect the development of beliefs, intentions, and attitudes toward preconception health. Key discoveries regarding planning intention and behavior included laissez faire attitudes toward preconception planning, advice-seeking methods, perceived need to change behaviors, and ability to navigate the healthcare system and social programs. Future recommendations include using the more complex bioecological view to improve the global preconception health imperative. This study's potential for positive social change includes opportunities to hold important conversations about preconception health by disseminating study results locally and the expansion of knowledge in a field dedicated to the improvement of women and infant health worldwide through publication.

Preconception Health and Preterm Birth Differences Among U.S.-Born and Foreign-Born Black Women

Keitt, Sheree Holmes 01 January 2019 (has links)
Foreign-born Black women giving birth in the United States have superior preterm birth outcomes compared to their U.S-born Black peers. Many studies have focused on tobacco use and medical risk factors, but few have focused solely on preconception health. The purpose of this study was to examine preconception health and preterm birth differences among U.S.-born and foreign-born Black women. Three theoretical frameworks guided this study: the life course theory, healthy migrant theory/immigrant paradox, and weathering theory. Primary research questions assessed (a) if there were an association between chronic preconception risk factors, prepregnancy obesity, diabetes, and hypertension, in U.S.-born and foreign-born Black women, (b) if U.S.-born Black women had a higher risk of having a preterm infant compared to foreign-born Black women, and (c) if weathering existed in U.S.-born and foreign-born Black women. A quantitative design using the 2017 Natality Public Use File was employed that included non-Hispanic Black women ages 15 to 44 years. Chi-square test and binary logistic regression were used for the data analysis. Key findings revealed (a) a statistically significant association between preterm birth and chronic preconception health risk factors in both groups of women, (b) U.S.-born women were roughly 1.4 times more likely to have a preterm infant than foreign-born women, and (c) both groups experienced weathering. This study might positively impact social change by offering an alternative perspective to the reproductive health advantage of foreign-born Black women. This perspective can aid in advancing policy and systems change strategies to address the root causes of racial and ethnic disparities in birth outcomes, advance health equity, and improve maternal health.

Preconception and Interconception Health and Routine Health Service Use Among Women in a Rural Midwestern Community

DiPietro Mager, Natalie Ann 02 1900 (has links)
Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) / Advancement of preconception and interconception health is a key element to improve women’s health as well as pregnancy outcomes. Little is known about the preconception and interconception health status of rural Midwestern populations in the United States. The primary objective of this study was to determine the preconception and interconception health status as well as behaviors of reproductive age women living in a rural Midwestern area. Secondary objectives were to quantify process measures of health care access and barriers to care, as well as determine disparities in preconception and interconception health status among women in this rural area as compared to statewide estimates. As existing national or state secondary data sources often have limitations in data derived from areas with low population densities or insufficient sample sizes to generate reliable estimates, a cross-sectional study was performed using a 34- item survey. Data were collected from February to May 2019 from 315 non-pregnant women ages 18-45 years in a rural county in northwestern Ohio. Nearly all women surveyed had at least one risk factor associated with poor pregnancy outcomes, many of which were modifiable. Nearly half of all respondents reported at least one barrier to receipt of health care services. Women in this rural county fared worse for several preconception and interconception health measures when compared to statewide estimates derived from Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System and Ohio Pregnancy Assessment Survey data. These findings illustrate the need for continued development of interventions to improve preconception and interconception health for rural women as well as improved methods to capture and analyze data on important subpopulations at risk. / 2021-03-09

Dress to empress : Challenging preconception within dress

Wahlström, William January 2024 (has links)
This work builds on the notion of preconception using performative art to evoke awareness of inner worth and value through a change of dress and its notable ability to distort the image of a person, challenging the initial preconception of the person. This idea is depicted through a portrait staging of several mature women. The women are displayed in their homes, exposed to a partially improvised performative draping where the narrative shifts due to their change of clothing, accessories, hair, and makeup. This work aims to create artistic pieces of evening wear through the act of performance. It is intended to be a celebration of mature women and is meant to inspire the use of performance as a way to generate design ideas.
