Im Rahmen dieser vorliegenden Arbeit soll untersucht werden, welche Möglichkeiten zur Sicherung einer möglichst hohen Verfügbarkeit (High-Availability), Mechanismen zur Lastverteilung mittels des ZEO-Produkts oder ähnlichem sowie welche Strategien des Cachings sinnvoll an einem ZOPE-Server zum Einsatz kommen können. Die Arbeit untersucht dabei die Einsatzmöglichkeiten von bereits vorhandenen und die eventuelle Notwendigkeit der Eigenimplementierung weiterer Produkte der ZOPE-Entwicklung. Den Rahmen der Arbeit bildet die Serverstruktur des Bildungsmarktplatzes Sachsen.

We present new Fortran 77 subroutines which implement the Schur method and the matrix sign function method for the solution of the continuous­time matrix algebraic Riccati equation on the basis of LAPACK subroutines. In order to avoid some of the well­known difficulties with these methods due to a loss of accuracy, we combine the implementations with block scalings as well as condition estimates and forward error estimates. Results of numerical experiments comparing the performance of both methods for more than one hundred well­ and ill­conditioned Riccati equations of order up to 150 are given. It is demonstrated that there exist several classes of examples for which the matrix sign function approach performs more reliably and more accurately than the Schur method. In all cases the forward error estimates allow to obtain a reliable bound on the accuracy of the computed solution.

Der Vortrag gibt einen Überblick zu plattformübergreifenden Administrationstechnologien am Beispiel der Systemplattform Windows. Einführend wird auf ein Framework zur Plattformverwaltung "ToSCA" eingegangen. Die Umsetzung der Systemwartung wird am Einsatz von cygwin und cfengine dargestellt.

Unterwegs nachsehen, ob das neueste Buch des Lieblingsautors gerade verfügbar ist, oder schnell einmal ins eigene Nutzerkonto einloggen und die Leihfristen verlängern – seit August 2011 ist dies für die Nutzer der Städtischen Bibliotheken Dresden einfacher möglich, denn der Online-Katalog steht jetzt zusätzlich in einer für mobile Endgeräte optimierten Version zur Verfügung.

Am Donnerstag, dem 15. November 2007, fand in der SLUB in Kooperation mit dem Zentrum für Informationsdienste und Hochleistungsrechnen (ZIH) eine „RefWorks-Roadshow“ statt. Dazu hatten wir interessierte Studenten und Wissenschaftler der gesamten TU Dresden eingeladen.

A knowledge-based program defines the behavior of an agent by combining primitive actions, programming constructs and test conditions that make explicit reference to the agent’s knowledge. In this paper we consider a setting where an agent is equipped with a Description Logic (DL) knowledge base providing general domain knowledge and an incomplete description of the initial situation. We introduce a corresponding new DL-based action language that allows for representing both physical and sensing actions, and that we then use to build knowledge-based programs with test conditions expressed in the epistemic DL. After proving undecidability for the general case, we then discuss a restricted fragment where verification becomes decidable. The provided proof is constructive and comes with an upper bound on the procedure’s complexity.

One of the cornerstones of the R system for statistical computing is the multitude of contributed packages making an extremely broad range of statistical techniques and other quantitative methods freely available. This study investigates which factors are the crucial determinants responsible for the participation of the package authors in the R project. For this purpose a survey was conducted among R package authors, collecting data on different types of participation in the R project, three psychometric scales (hybrid forms of motivation, work design characteristics, and values), as well as various specie-demographic factors. These data are analyzed using item response theory and generalized linear models, showing that the most important determinants for participation are a hybrid form of motivation and the knowledge characteristics of the work design. Seit dem 18. März diesen Jahres steht im Apple App-Store die SLUB-Katalog-App zum Download zur Verfügung. Am 26. April folgte die Android-Version bei Google Play. Wir sind stolz, dass die SLUB-App innerhalb weniger Wochen knapp dreitausend Mal herunter geladen wurde und die SLUB damit dem Trend zur mobilen und jederzeit verfügbaren Nutzung von Wissen Rechnung tragen konnte.

The main target of the thesis``The support of small and middle enterprises in Strakonice region`` is to analyze the chosen types of business support and their using of small and middle subjects in Strakonice region. To reach this target different analyses were implemented {--} analyse of small and middle enterprises in Strakonice region, SWOT analyse of Strakonice region, analyse of registered unemployment rate in the whole territory, region and particular micro-regions. The possibilities of support´s drawing for this type of business were observed and how these types of support are used in individual years was investigated. Not least the drawing of financial help from EU funds was examined.
