What factors affect the emotional well-being of newly qualified midwives in their first year of practice?

Bacchus, A., Firth, Amanda 18 September 2017 (has links)
Yes / The Royal College of Midwives (RCM) reports that between 5–10% of newly qualified midwives (NQM) leave the profession in the UK within a year of registration, with similar losses reported internationally (RCM 2010). NQMs are in a position of vulnerability and are highly susceptible to workplace adversity that subsequently may affect their emotional well-being. This literature review explores the experiences of NQMs surrounding their emotional well-being within the first 12 months of transition. Following a thorough search and appraisal of the literature, four papers were reviewed. Two key themes were identified consisting of factors that challenge NQMs’ resilience causing negative emotional well-being, and factors that enhance resilience, promoting positive emotional well-being. The findings of this review demonstrate that there is a need for the consistent implementation of protective mechanisms such as structured preceptorship and supportive mentorship. Such interventions may improve physical and emotional well-being, increase retention and better prepare NQMs for the journey ahead; ultimately also improving quality of care for women and patient safety.

Politiques éducatives, développement et compétences professionnelles des enseignants non titulaires et titulaires de français au Sénégal et en France / Educational policies, development and profesional competence of non qualified and qualified teachers of french in Senegal and France

Ly, Thierno 19 December 2014 (has links)
The educational authorities in Senegal and France have integrated within their educational systems non qualified teachers of french. Therefore, it remains the problem of professional competence of those teachers who have not been trained before contrary to qualified teachers. Our research will consist on showing whether it is possible for them to develop professional competence within the job. To better conduct our research, we will use the comparative approach as methodology, basing on the idea that non-qualified teachers would develop effective professional competence within the practice as well as the qualified teachers. Thus, our task is to compare non-qualified teachers to qualified teachers who have been trained before practicing effectively. The latter have benefited from the "professional legitimacy" and are considered to be professional and competent. We aim also at seeing if their methodologies (ways of doing and acting) are similar, according to the idea of he genesis triplet. By the end of our work, we have adopted the idea according to which the non qualified and temporary teachers develop indeed professional competence within the practice similar to that of the qualified teachers, even though in France, the similarity is less important. Nonetheless, despite the initial training remains important, we have then recommended the continuous training (the follow up practice) and the validation of the experience achievements as means to make professional the non-qualified teachers.

Den orena revisionsberättelsen / The qualified opinion

Kesen, Ulas, Koc, Serdar January 2011 (has links)

A HIGH SPEED REAL TIME SPACE QUALIFIED TIME DIVISION MULTIPLEXED DATA FORMATTER

Schwartz, Paul D., Hersman, Christopher B. 10 1900 (has links)
International Telemetering Conference Proceedings / October 17-20, 1994 / Town & Country Hotel and Conference Center, San Diego, California / A system to generate a contiguous high speed time division multiplexed (TDM) spacecraft downlink data stream has been developed. The 25 MBPS downlink data stream contains high rate real time imager data, intermediate rate subsystem processor data, and low rate spacecraft housekeeping data. Imager data is transferred directly into the appropriate TDM downlink data window using control signals and clocks generated in the central data formatter and distributed to the data sources. Cable and electronics delays inherent in this process can amount to several clock periods, while the uncertainty and variations in those delays (e.g. temperature effects) can exceed the clock period. Unique (patent pending) electronic circuitry has been included in the data formatter to sense the total data gathering delay for each high speed data source and use the results to control series programmable delay elements to equalize the delays from all sources and permit the formation of a contiguous output data stream.

Kvalifikuota nusikalstamos veikos sudėtis / Qualified corpus delicti of criminal offences

Ronkutė, Jurgita 25 November 2010 (has links)
The title of the master‘s thesis – qualified corpus delicti of criminal offences. While analyzing various research projects of Lithuanian and foreign scientists on the subject- matter of qualified corpus delicti of criminal offences, it was observed that more comprehensive research was not performed. Thereby, this paper, invoking common research methods usable in criminal law (such as comparative, analytical (and/or periphrastic), historical, linguistic and the method of critique), is designed to consider theoretical fundamentals of qualified corpus delicti of criminal offences as well as their problematic aspects; to educe the peculiarities of qualifying features as well as their arrangement in the text scrip of the Criminal Code, considering to the statements, introduced in the legislation of the criminal law; to determine boundaries between simple, qualified and/or privileged corpus delicti of criminal offences; to improve qualified corpus delicti of criminal offences. Equally, it was pursued to review historically changeable approach to qualified corpus delicti of criminal offences. The maximum attention in this paper is granted to qualified corpus delicti of criminal offences as well as to the peculiarities of the structure of qualified corpus delicti. It should be noted that not only criminal offences have qualified corpus delicti, but also it is presumed that misdemeanors might have qualified corpus delicti as well. There are also introduced the possibilities of... [to full text]

Fondy kvalifikovaných investorů / Funds for qualified investors

Řeháčková, Hana January 2013 (has links)
Funds of qualified investors Recent events in the financial world emphasize the need to understand institutions and instruments of capital market. From that reason I have chosen the area of funds of qualified investors. The aim of my thesis is to examine the treatment of funds of qualified investors, to characterize the main changes the funds have come through and to carry out a comparative analysis of similar funds which are intended for professional investors abroad and to focus on strict European legislation in this area which has an effect on the Czech funds of qualified investors and assess influence of the legislation on them. Career aspirations of and perceptions of family medicine as a specialty by newly qualified doctors (interns and community service doctors) in southern Gauteng province

Ubabukoh, Samuel Ozioma January 2016 (has links)
Introduction: As many recently qualified South African doctors pursue specialisation and sub-specialisation, projections indicate that the critical mass of medical practitioners required to support primary healthcare will continue to dwindle, with wholly inadequate numbers to sustain the country's proposed National Health Insurance plan. Little is known, however, about what newly qualified doctors on the verge of making career choices think of the speciality of Family Medicine (FM) and how these young doctors actually decide on what career options to pursue. Objectives: This study describes the career intentions of newly qualified doctors working in the four southern districts of Gauteng Province, the factors that influence their career aspirations, and their views on FM as a specialty. Methods: This is a descriptive cross sectional study using a self-administered questionnaire, which targeted 502 participants (interns N=396 and community service doctors N=106) in 2013. Results: Out of 368 questionnaires returned, 342 were eligible for analysis. More than two thirds (68%) of the respondents graduated from medical schools located in Gauteng Province. Only 5.3% were working in primary healthcare (PHC) facilities. The most chosen specialties were: surgical (32.2%), internal medicine (14.3%), and paediatrics (12.9%). FM was the least chosen specialty by only eight respondents (2.3%). Only 44% had ever considered FM as a career. Of these, 77% agreed that they were not well enough informed about the FM registrar-training programme to select this discipline. Only 16.8% thought they would be job satisfied working in a PHC facility, while 53.4% believed that FM would not be financially rewarding. Conclusions: A serious human resource shortage looms large in primary healthcare if most newly qualified doctors have no desire to enter general medical practice or work in PHC settings. This study highlights the need to urgently address current undergraduate, internship and registrar training programmes in South Africa with a view to marketing FM and making generalism attractive. / AC 2016
