Children and youth training in Padel. : Coaches perceptions of sport in the private and the volontary sector.

Söderström, Rasmus January 2022 (has links)
The overall purpose of this study is to create an in-depth understanding of how coaches for children and young people in padel reflect about being coaches in the private sector in relation to the non-profitsector. To answer this purpose the following questions were asked: How do padel coaches experience that their leadership and training activities are affected or changed depending on whether they are hiredby a private or non-profit client? What contextual aspects do coaches state as reasons for this? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each sector according to the coaches? The empiric data in this study was collected through qualitative interviews via Zoom with six different padel coaches across Sweden who practices in the private sport sector. The primarily results demonstrates that the padel coaches generally experience several differences between the private and the voluntary sector and that these differences are both complex and difficult to handle. Some of the differences are connected to areas like education, quality in training, economic and inclusion aspects. Additionally, it shows that these differences could have an impact on the padel coaches and their leadership, but it could also affect the children practicing this sport

Déterminants biomécanique, physiologique et modélisation physique de la performance en badminton / Biomechanical, physiological determinants and physical modeling of performance on badminton

Phomsoupha, Michael 24 November 2016 (has links)
Just like training, sport science research is a key factor in sports performance. Through the study of intermittent physical activity, in this case badminton, biomechanical, physiological and physical concepts emerge and offer a multidisciplinary approach of the determinants of sport performance. Thus, the goal of this doctoral work is both the study of badminton in the performance prediction and the understanding of the mechanisms in the production of wheel velocity close to 500 km/h. The physiological and neuromuscular responses enabled the establishment of a specific discriminatory test, predicting the level of expertise, and close to the ecological conditions of a match. Paradoxically, the causes of neurophysiological mechanisms associated with the fatigue induced by a prolonged game remain unknown. It appears heuristic to further study those mechanisms which are at the origin of a decrease in athletic performance. The evolution of observable match variables, the maximum strength and the power of the upper and lower limbs converge towards a gradual decrease in the practice. As a corollary, the understanding of the optimisation of the speed of the flywheel mechanisms helped to highlight the biomechanical and physical principles, essential in predicting a large wheel speed during a maximum performance. Indeed, the principles of adding segments and stretching shortening cycle largely influence the speed of the hand. In addition, the principle of the lever arm and the elastic effect of the racket also increase the speed of the racket. Finally, the conservation of the momentum and the restitution coefficient ultimately contribute to the speed of the shuttlecock.

Teaching Algebra through Functional Programming:An Analysis of the Bootstrap Curriculum

Lee, Robert 16 March 2013 (has links) (PDF)
Bootstrap is a computer-programming curriculum that teaches students to program video games using Racket, a functional programming language based on algebraic syntax. This study investigated the relationship between learning to program video games from a Bootstrap course and the resulting effect on students' understanding of algebra. Courses in three different schools, lasting about six weeks each, were studied. Control and treatment groups were given a pre and post algebra assessment. A qualitative component consisting of observations and interviews was also used to further triangulate findings. Statistical analysis revealed that students who completed the Bootstrap course gained a significantly better understanding of variables and a suggestive improvement in understanding functions. In the assessments, students failed to demonstrate a transfer of the advanced concepts of function composition and piecewise functions from programming to algebraic notation. Interviews with students demonstrated that with coaching, students were able to relate functions written in Racket to functions written in algebraic notation, but were not yet able to transfer their experience of function composition from programming to algebra.

Rasm: Compiling Racket to WebAssembly

Matejka, Grant 01 June 2022 (has links) (PDF)
WebAssembly is an instruction set designed for a stack based virtual machine, with an emphasis on speed, portability and security. As the use cases for WebAssembly grow, so does the desire to target WebAssembly in compilation. In this thesis we present Rasm, a Racket to WebAssembly compiler that compiles a select subset of the top forms of the Racket programming language to WebAssembly. We also present our early findings in our work towards adding a WebAssembly backend to the Chez Scheme compiler that is the backend of Racket. We address initial concerns and roadblocks in adopting a WebAssembly backend and propose potential solutions and patterns to address these concerns. Our work is the first serious effort to compile Racket to WebAssembly, and we believe it will serve as a good aid in future efforts of compiling high-level languages to WebAssembly.

Zavedenie nového športu padel v Českej republike / The introduction of padel in the Czech Republic

Ličák, Jakub January 2012 (has links)
This thesis aims to describe the proposed implementation process of the introduction of padel in the Czech Republic and to draw up a business plan to build the first padel centre in the Czech Republic called Padel centre Prague. The main analytical method is a detailed financial plan on which economic indicators of implementation of this investment project are quantified. Leading procedures for detecting data are questionnaire surveys, telephone query and also an estimate, which is used mainly in the analysis of the financial plan. The estimated average payback period for this investment is 3.2 years, while the real recovery of funds spent on the construction of padel centre should occur during the fifth year of its operation.

The most common injury location in padel tennis; damage occurrence and analysis of the relationship between gender, age and player level : A quantitative survey study

Al-Hadithi, Rania, Sigurdsson, Malin January 2023 (has links)

Kassi, Irène 18 July 2007 (has links) (PDF)
