The thesis analyzes the advertisement that was published in three selected national newspapers and a weekly magazine. It focuses on the period last thirty years (comparison with the 80`s of the 20th century, the 90`s of the 20th century and the period after 2000). It is trying to show changes that occurred during the processing period of advertising texts in thematic, language and style area. The thesis concentrates on the selected sample of advertising texts and as well the most common principles of creation, it compares with scientifically based facts from reference book relating to advertising language. Advertising language is based on the changing society and its value which is constantly in progress. The year 1989 symbolized not only the changing political and social conditions in our country but also allowed the access of foreign capital onto the Czech market and its increase in competition that the advertisement responded with huge development. The advertisement could no longer rely on the information but it had to develop more features like the attraction and persuasive function. The thesis divides the advertising into two main parts. Vývoj české tabákové reklamy / The Development of Czech Tobacco Advertising

The thesis studies the consumption of tobacco as a specific cultural phenomenon owing to the fact that since a tobacco plant has been brought to Europe; its use has spread over other continents and has rooted in many developed civilizations. From the theoretical standpoint, the thesis argues that as cultures are not constant entities, the same applies for public opinions regarding tobacco, from the firm belief that tobacco has positive effects on our health to the stigmatization of tobacco. The paper has four parts. First three parts discuss smoking in marketing communication and further identifies key topics; the final part presents the semiotic analysis of tobacco advertising from the selected periodicals printed (from newspapers and magazines) in the former Czechoslovakia from twenties to fifties of the twentieth century. The main objective is to specify both verbal and visual motives that ad makers used to use in order to create ideological implications of their ads (decoding symbols and interpretation of their meanings). This diploma thesis discusses the main issues in regards to the topic of body image in marketing, such as its overall description, its negative impacts and the influence it has among the media and advertising. A content analysis was the primary methodology used in this thesis. Furthermore, not only were Czech television commercials analysed, but also Australian ones. The work also discusses the fundamental media indicators which help to form a better understanding of the television market. The results indicate that a normal person will be presented in a television commercial in an attempt to better connect the viewer to the commercial, thus connecting the product or brand to the mass audience. This finding was also backed up by the the results of a media indicators analysis that was conducted for Czech commercials.

Magistro darbo objektas yra moterų ir vyrų įvaizdžiai. Darbo tikslas – išanalizuoti dominuojančius lyčių įvaizdžius Lietuvos televizijų reklamose, suskirstyti juos į tipus ir palyginti su moterų ir vyrų įvaizdžiais, vyraujančiais visuomenėje ir žiniasklaidoje. Darbo uždaviniai: aptarti, kas sudaro žmogaus lytinę tapatybę, ir nuo ko priklauso lyčių tvarka visuomenėje; nustatyti, kaip kuriamas asmens įvaizdis, ir kas jį sudaro; išnagrinėti, kokie lyčių įvaizdžių bruožai vyrauja visuomenėje ir žiniasklaidoje; apžvelgti moterų ir vyrų vaizdavimo televizijoje ypatumus, ir aptarti, kokį poveikį jų vaizdiniai daro vartotojams; išanalizuoti Lietuvos televizijų reklamas ir išskirti dominuojančius moterų ir vyrų įvaizdžius. Darbe naudojami tokie tyrimo metodai, kaip lyginamoji duomenų analizė, kokybinė ir kiekybinė reklaminių pranešimų turinio analizė. Šie metodai pasirinkti, siekiant išryškinti atskirus įvaizdžio bruožus, nustatyti, kokie įvaizdžio kūrimo elementai labiausiai jį atskleidžia ir lemia jo vertinimą, palyginti atskirų įvaizdžių vaizdavimo dažnumą televizijos reklamose. Išanalizavus mokslinę literatūrą, pastebėta, kad įvairiose kultūrose per pastaruosius kelis dešimtmečius reklamos mažai pakito – jose vis dar stereotipiškai vaizduojami moters ir vyrų įvaizdžiai ir tarpusavio santykiai. Atlikta televizijos reklamų kokybinė ir kiekybinė analizė leidžia teigti, kad Lietuvos televizijos reklamos ne išimtis – jose lyčių įvaizdžiai kuriami, remiantis stereotipinėmis moteriškumo... Analysis of these codes and symbols not only helps to perceive the social reality, but also to understand how they influences the public. Content of the advertising messages are not alway positive part of socialization. Often, it reflects stereotypical information as a positive and the only aspiration. Limited conception of femininity and masculinity restricts the human‘s individuality and independence, depresess if purposed stereotypical traits are impossible to comply with. The objective of this work is to reveal what stereotypical features of women and men reflects in television commercials, media and society, and how they affect human‘s sexual identity, attitudes and behavior. The subject of this work is images of men and women, and the objective is to analyze the dominant gender images of Lithuanian television commercials, classify them into types and compare with images of male and female, prevailing in society and the media. Magistro mokslo darbo objektas – reklamos su įžymybėmis. Darbo tikslas – išsiaiškinti įžymybių, reklamuojančių prekinius ženklus efektyvumą - įtaką ne tik prekiniam ženklui, bet ir vartotojų elgsenai. Pagrindiniai uždaviniai: apibrėžti įžymybės sąvoką; atlikti teorinę įžymybių panaudojimo reklamose analizę, atskleidžiant teigiamą ir neigiamą puses; atskleisti įžymybių reklamų efektyvumą įtakojančius veiksnius; išnagrinėjant reklamų su garsiais žmonėmis tendencijas užsienyje; ištirti duomenis, kaip garsių žmonių panaudojimas vieno ar kito prekinio ženklo reklamai įtakoja pardavimus bei prekės ženklo įsimintinumą Lietuvoje. Išanalizavus mokslinę literatūrą nustatyta, kad žinomi veidai reklamoje padeda suformuoti teigiamą vartotojų nuomonę apie reklamuojamą produktą ar paslaugą. Jei prekės ženklo vertybės, charakteristika sutampa su garsių žmonių gyvenimo būdu bei požiūriu, vadinasi, jie bene geriausiai, aiškiausiai padeda perteikti žmonėms žinią, kurią norima pasakyti. Taikant kokybinį ekspertų interviu įžymybių reklamos efektyvumui nustatyti, prieita prie išvados, kad vienas pagrindinių sėkmingos reklaminių kampanijų, kuriose produkto/paslaugos rėmėju pasirinktas garsus asmuo, faktorius yra įžymybės, produkto ir auditorijos atitikimas. Reklamų efektyvumas buvo patikrintas ir vykdant eksperimentą. [toliau žr. visą tekstą] / The object of this work is celebrity advertising, the aim of this work is to find out the effectiveness of celebrities, who endorse brands – their influence not only on brands, but on consumers’ behaviour as well. In order to achieve a purpose of Master thesis, the main tasks are set as follows: 1. To define the meaning of celebrity. 2. To do the theoretical analysis of the use of celebrities in advertising. 3. To reveal the factors, which influence celebrity advertising. 4. To analyse the tendencies of celebrity endorsements in foreign countries. 5. To find out, how the use of celebrities in advertising of a particular brand in Lithuania influences sales and see its influence on memorizing the brand. In order to define the effectiveness of advertising, the qualitative interview with experts was chosen. When using this research method, it was concluded that one of the main factors of successful celebrity endorsement campaigns is celebrity-product-target audience congruency. The effectiveness of adverts was also tried and tested while doing an experiment. Four different adverts were measured, which later were evaluated under two alternative routes to user persuasion: peripheral (the creative executorial aspects of the advertising are dominant) and central (the focus is on the product/ brand and message).
