Esta tese está dividida em duas partes. A primeira, DERIVAS, propõe-se a analisar a incidência da liquidez na literatura contemporânea a fim de verificar suas implicações nos elementos narrativos de duas obras literárias: Amuleto, de Roberto Bolaño, e Um crime delicado, de Sérgio SantAnna. Entretanto, no decorrer da pesquisa, o interesse pelos procedimentos formais dilui-se na leitura de um corpus teórico privilegiadamente filosófico (Derrida, Lévinas e Agamben, especialmente) fazendo emergir temas margeantes como crime, culpa, perdão, liberdade, que exigiu a elaboração de um pensamento úmido a respeito da literatura e de seus agentes, reais ou ficcionais. A segunda parte da tese reelabora-se no espelhamento com o corpus teórico e ficcional da pesquisa, atestando os deslimites e limiares entre discurso argumentativo, análise crítica das obras, reflexão autobiográfica e inserção de subjetividades poéticas. Esta seção é, praticamente, uma revisão da primeira e seu objetivo é trazer à tona o processo de escritura no contínuo de um acontecimento que se lança ao infinito, num movimento incapturável de solidificação e diluição conceitual que, em última instância, questiona o próprio gênero tese. O interesse, quase obsessivo, com relação à verdade, ética, sacrifício, cegueira, suicídio, lágrimas, infinito, segredo, entre outras questões im-possíveis, resulta do elemento traumático fundador do indecidível numa escritura empenhada, antes de tudo, em reconstruir o desejo pela própria pesquisa quando ela já não é o que importa. The first one, DRIFTS, proposes to examine the contemporary literature liquidity occurrence in order to verify its implications on narrative elements of two literary works: Amuleto by Roberto Bolaño, and Um crime delicado by Sérgio Sant´anna. Nonetheless, during this study, the interest in formal procedures was diluted over a privileged philosophic theoretical corpus (Derrida, Lévinas and particularly, Agamben) giving rise to fringe topics as crime, guilty, forgiveness, freedom, demanding the development of a liquid thought process concerning literature and its real or fictional agents. The second part of the study, reworks itself by mirroring the research theoretical and fictional corpus, indicating the absence of constraints and thresholds between argumentative speech, critical analyses, autobiographical though and poetical subjectivity insertion. This section is, in a practical way, a review of the first part, aiming to reveal the writing process continuity over an event stretching up to infinity, in a elusive solidification movement and conceptual dilution which, at last, inquires the thesis own substance. The nearly obsessive interest regarding the truth, ethics, sacrifice, blindness, suicide, tears, infinity, closeness, among other impossible inquires, results from the traumatic element creating the radical indecision in a writing endeavor to, up and foremost, rebuild the desire for its own research when it is not so important anymore. A dissertação Sobre as verdades da ficção propõe um debate a respeito da relação entre os conceitos de ficção e real. Busca-se a defesa da hipótese de que a reavaliação desses termos contemporaneamente permite fortalecer a arte enquanto importante elemento formador da cultura. Para isso, constrói-se um caminho teórico que garante a base para uma análise crítica das dinâmicas da literatura brasileira contemporânea, fundada em regras que possibilitem a verificação de sua validade mas não em conceitos que limitem os horizontes de sua recepção. O caminho percorrido começa na análise do sujeito como conceito teórico fundamental para se pensar a linguagem e a construção de conhecimento. A literatura envolve diversas possibilidades de manifestação subjetiva, dentre as quais a construção da linguagem e do conhecimento que determinam a forma como lidamos com o mundo e como o construímos a partir das leituras que fazemos dele. Ao determinar-se o sujeito, se desenvolverá a importância e a evolução do conceito de ficção na construção literária e como a análise dos atos que a envolvem permite associá-la ao conceito de verdade e situá-la num quadro de valores que possibilita o livre movimento da criatividade mas mantém o objeto de arte inserido contextualmente. São analisadas três obras literárias brasileiras contemporâneas relevantes para o desenvolvimento teórico que se pretende: o romance Budapeste, de Chico Buarque; e o romance-teatro A tragédia brasileira e o conto O Monstro, ambos de Sérgio SantAnna. The defense of the hypotheses that contemporary revaluation of those terms allows to strength the art as an important culture foundation element is aimed. Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / A partir de uma proposta de ampliação do conceito de metaficção, a tese tem como objetivo investigar os usos metaficcionais nas obras de dois autores da literatura brasileira contemporânea: Sérgio SantAnna e Rubens Figueiredo. No caso de Sérgio SantAnna, são investigadas as relações que a metaficção estabelece com o controle do imaginário, com a reflexão estética feita no interior dos textos ficcionais e com a polêmica em torno das vanguardas. No caso de Rubens Figueiredo, a discussão sobre o uso do discurso metaficcional levará em conta os três ciclos pelos quais passa a obra do autor, ciclos esses marcados pela ênfase em determinadas questões, tais como a parodização de romances policiais, a questão da identidade e a problemática do social. O olhar panorâmico lançado para a obra ficcional dos dois autores deverá mostrar como os diferentes usos metaficcionais − ao atribuírem valores diferenciados à ligação que a literatura tem com o chamado mundo real − sinalizam duas concepções quase antagônicas do fenômeno literário / This thesis proposes the idea of amplifying the concept of metafiction and aims at investigating the functions of metafictional discourse in the works of two authors in contemporary Brazilian literature: Sérgio SantAnna and Rubens Figueiredo. Regarding Sérgio SantAnna, we investigate the relationship between metafiction and the following issues: the control of imagination; the aesthetic reflection explored inside fictional texts; and the debate concerning the avant-garde. As for Rubens Figueiredo, the discussion about the usage of metafictional discourse takes into account the three cycles which the writers work goes through. These cycles are singled out by the emphasis put upon issues like the following: the parady of detective stories, the problem of identity and last but not least the problem of social issues. The panoramic view of the works of both writers intends to throw light on how the different metafictional usages − as they attribute different values to the relationship that literature establishes with the so-called real world − signpost two almost antagonistic conceptions of the literary phenomenon

Reading the book, we observe the influence of this historical context marked by the oppression and violence in the tales composition and atmosphere. The contribution of philosophers who study arts in the contemporary world, such as Theodor Adorno and Walter Benjamin, and language scientists, such as Mikhail Bakhtin, offers us subsidies to reflect about the relation between the history of the period and the literary structure of Manfredo Rangels Notes, reporter. The main focus of the reflection are the intrinsic tensions in the formal aspects on the book that keep analogies and establish possibilities of mediation with the reality of the period when the book was launched. The analysis of the tales also offers, for the study of the characters, reflections about the individuals disablement situation before institutional systems based on the subjective fragmentation of the process related to this condition.
