A situation refinement model for complex event processing

Alakari, Alaa A. 07 January 2021 (has links)
Complex Event Processing (CEP) systems aim at processing large flows of events to discover situations of interest (SOI). Primarily, CEP uses predefined pattern templates to detect occurrences of complex events in an event stream. Extracting complex event is achieved by employing techniques such as filtering and aggregation to detect complex patterns of many simple events. In general, CEP systems rely on domain experts to de fine complex pattern rules to recognize SOI. However, the task of fine tuning complex pattern rules in the event streaming environment face two main challenges: the issue of increased pattern complexity and the event streaming constraints where such rules must be acquired and processed in near real-time. Therefore, to fine-tune the CEP pattern to identify SOI, the following requirements must be met: First, a minimum number of rules must be used to re fine the CEP pattern to avoid increased pattern complexity, and second, domain knowledge must be incorporated in the refinement process to improve awareness about emerging situations. Furthermore, the event data must be processed upon arrival to cope with the continuous arrival of events in the stream and to respond in near real-time. In this dissertation, we present a Situation Refi nement Model (SRM) that considers these requirements. In particular, by developing a Single-Scan Frequent Item Mining algorithm to acquire the minimal number of CEP rules with the ability to adjust the level of re refinement to t the applied scenario. In addition, a cost-gain evaluation measure to determine the best tradeoff to identify a particular SOI is presented. / Graduate

När hjärtat sviktar : En litteraturstudie om patienters upplevelse av att leva med hjärtsvikt

Diwan, Agnes, Törnblom, Emma January 2021 (has links)
Nyckelord: Kronisk hjärtsvikt, patientupplevelse, livssituation / Background: Approximately 200 000 people in Sweden have symptoms of heart failure. The risk of getting heart failure increases by aging and about 10% of the population over the age of 80 have heart failure. Patients with heart failure report lower quality of life and experience psychological difficulties.  Aim: To describe the experience of living with chronic heart failure. Method: Literature based review of qualitative research following Polit and Beck’s flow of tasks in a literature review. Eleven articles were included, and the quality was deemed as high or moderate. Results:  Six themes and six sub themes were found. Perception of life - adjusted attitude to life, limitations in life; Changes in relationships and situation in life - Family and friends, living conditions; Emotional changes - positive emotions, negative emotions; Experience of self-care; Thoughts regarding the future and Experiences from health care.  Conclusion: Heart failure affects all parts of life, both the practical and the emotional parts. The participant’s social and economic status were affected by the disease. Many experience anxiety and worry about their health and the treatment was stressful. They also experienced physical limitations. They learned how to live with their condition, but good health care was needed. Self-care required a good collaboration with healthcare professionals. Increased understanding for the patient experience can lead to better life situations and less economic burden.

Combining Trait and Processing Perspectives of the Individual: Toward a New Assessment Model of Interpersonal Competence

Persich, Michelle Ruth January 2020 (has links)
Satisfying interpersonal relationships are an important and beneficial part of life. However, despite that fact that most people desire close interpersonal relationships, some people are less successful at forming and maintaining these relationships than others. One plausible explanation for such individual differences is that people differ in their levels of interpersonal competence – their ability to consistently enact behaviors that are effective, socially appropriate, and satisfying to others. The present research sought to examine different approaches to understanding and assessing interpersonal competence. A comparison of these approaches led to the creation of an Integrated Interpersonal Competence Model (IICM) that sought to maximize the strengths of each individual approach. This new model was tested in two studies (total N = 348) with the goal of understanding why people receive higher (or lower) interpersonal competence (IC) scores and how competence is related to successful interpersonal functioning. Both Studies 1 and 2 examined how the individual components of the IICM contributed to one’s overall IC score. Both studies found that the ability to accurately process social information was related to one’s likelihood of receiving a high IC score. In addition, how an individual evaluated response options seemed to play the largest role in determining whether or not the person would enact the response. Finally, IC appeared to be composed of a blend of interpersonal warmth and dominance. Study 1 also examined the relationship between IC and daily life outcomes. Results showed that higher competence individuals tended to experience a greater frequency of positive events, higher levels of prosocial feelings and satisfaction, and enacted fewer hostile and submissive behaviors on a daily basis. Study 2 investigated how IC was perceived by others. Individuals who were higher in IC were perceived to have fewer antisocial feelings, and be less selfish by peers and parents, and had higher quality relationships with their parents. Interestingly, processing abilities were unrelated to daily and informant-reported outcomes, but personality-like tendencies toward enacting friendly and hostile behaviors were consequential. Overall, the integrated model produced insights into interpersonal competence and can provide a useful guide for future investigations of interpersonal competence.

Implementace BIM do podniku malého rozsahu v ČR / Implementing BIM to the Small Scale Company in the Czech Republic

Helvínová, Veronika January 2018 (has links)
The topic and the aim of the thesis is to define BIM characteristics, the pros and cons of BIM implementation and the development of BIM situation in the Czech Republic. Current situation is analysed in selected regions due to a newly arising situation of a possible use of public procurement by BIM methods. Simultaneously are examined current pros and cons of implementing BIM in companies. Based on a knowledge and results of the survey is created a potential scheme of a process needed by implementing BIM into the small-scale company.
