Narratwist: alteration in meaning in a short film text

El-Noor, Mardo January 2008 (has links)
This project is a creative production that combines image, sound, and narrative. It uses these elements to employ a twist as a device for a paradigm and genre shift in a short film text. My short film introduces a plot that is seemingly linear. Yet, the twist presents a piece of information that reveals the actual non-linear nature of the story, which in turn necessitates the re-interpretation of the plot. The aim of this project is to explore how a twist in a narrative-based short film can alter the cues and perceptions the audience receive from the plot. The project is predominantly practice-based (80%).

A Post-mortem Analysis of Production Process: The Bricklayer's Disaster

Bajandas, Nathan Thomas 2011 December 1900 (has links)
This thesis is focused on the worthwhile lessons learned while creating a short animated film. The conventional way of teaching related to practice is to have students work on projects and learn from their own experience. This thesis strives to save the reader some of the pain, time, and effort required of this learning style, by presenting the hard learned lessons from this project. An overview of the project is provided, along with a reconstructed time-line. Also, each member of the team recounted their own dilemmas and successes on the project, and proposed potential solutions to problems encountered along the way. The findings are presented in the spirit of a post-mortem analysis, which acts to collect the knowledge obtained by those involved with a project in order to increase productivity for the next time a similar task is attempted. The postmortem approach was found to be effective in identifying, illuminating, and articulating the lessons learned concerning general, practical, team-related and problem solving issues encountered while working on a short animated film.

Judanti grafika Ivano Krylovo pasakėčių motyvais / Motion graphics based on motifs of fables by Ivan Krylov

Pocius, Marius 04 August 2011 (has links)
[toliau žr. visą tekstą] / For my bachelor degree work I created motion graphics short films which are suited to be shown at schools for children, as well the creation of them are written down in this work and can be used for school as a methodical instructions how these kind of films can be made. My work inspired by Ivan Krylov - a classic well known in the world Russian fables writer. This way my motion graphics films have a deep educational value. To create them I mainly used Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Flash, Sony Vegas and Audacity computer software. My work is great methodical instructions for young art and design teachers who want to teach their students how to use computer software basics for creative tasks. To create my motion graphics films I used computer software which is highly used by today's professional digital artists.

The Future of Data Collection : A Speculative Design Inquiry Into the World ofPersonal Devices and Surveillance

Sweep, Femke January 2018 (has links)
This paper will investigate both modern and potential future methods of data collection and analysis. The research was conducted through qualitative research practices such as an autoethnographic recounting of a personal privacy scare on a mobile device, personal interviews regarding the individual’s own online data, and observed reactions to relevant instances regarding for instance surveillance apps. This research was done while considering a wide breadth of texts and articles relevant to the question of what things like dataveillance look like today, how they affect our lives and how they may take form in the future. This research finally culminates in the form of a short film in which these topics are framed in a speculative and somewhat more dystopian near future scenario
