documentos (textos antigos ,manuscritos, jornal, etc) digitalizados, considerando
técnicas para a correção do efeito Show-Through. / In the digitalization process of printed documents or manuscripts that contain
information on both through sides of the paper (front and back), it is common to
observe the so-called Show-Thorugh Effet, in which the image in the back of the
document interferes in the digitized image of the front side. Removing this kind
of interference can be seen as an instance of the general Blind Source Separation
Problem (BSS), for which several different techniques have been proposed in the
literature, considering specific characteristics of the sources and of the mixing
process.
The objective of the present work is to evaluate different methods for the mitigation
of the Show-Through effect, based in concepts related to the BSS problem. The
evaluated tools, based on three different approaches for parameter adaptation,
were tested with different kinds of documents (old texts, manuscripts, newspaper),
considering synthetic and real mixtures. The results reveal strong and weak points
of the studied methods, which can serve as a valuable reference in the development
of new techniques for the Show-Through effect mitigation.

Le système de la politesse confronté aux défis du talk-show : Politesse, impolitesse et a-politesse à l’épreuve du spectacle et de la violence dans "On n’est pas couché" et "Tout le monde en parle" / Politeness confronted to the principles of talk-show : Politeness, impoliteness and non-politeness versus televised show and violence in “On n’est pas couché” and “Tout le monde en parle”Oprea, Alina-Gabriela 30 November 2012 (has links)
In linguistics, politeness, considered omnipresent, aims at preserving the interactional and interpersonal harmony. But what happens when conflict is at the very heart of verbal interactions, as is the case with our talk-shows? The role of impoliteness and violence, as well as their relationship with politeness in “On n’est pas couché” and “Tout le monde en parle” are to be considered as the starting point for our research. Thus, the present work is an analysis of the notion of politeness confronted to the “challenges” raised by the televised shows mentioned above, an analysis in which we explored the politeness/impoliteness dichotomy that we articulated, thereafter, with the notions of appropriateness (in respect to the communication contract), violence and representation or “mise-en-scène”.In order to give a proper account of the functioning of these phenomena, firstly, we gave up the general view according to which politeness was defined as adequate behaviour while impoliteness was seen as its negative counterpart. Secondly, we tried to reconceptualise the notion of appropriateness going beyond rigid classifications or conventionalised polite and impolite formula.Given these considerations, we established a twofold objective. On the one hand, we tried to adjust the theoretical framework of politeness that, applied to our data, presented certain deficiencies, and to come up with some evaluation criteria for the analysed notions; consequently, we modestly and prudently proposed a framework and several theoretical “tools” adapted to our talk-shows. On the other hand, we analysed ─ using the presented tools and framework ─, the mechanisms of politeness and impoliteness as well as the divers “mises-en-scène” of polite, impolite and violent speech.

Mediální reprezentace celebrit ve formátu late-night talk show / Media Representation of Celebrities in Late-night Talk Show FormatCerna, Arina January 2017 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the media representation of celebrities, as it is designed within the framework of the adopted American television format of the late-night talk show. In the first part of the thesis, attention is focused on problems of understanding of the phenomenon of celebrities by various authors, as well as on the development of the late-night talk show itself and its characteristic features. The theoretical starting point is the theory of representation (Hall), three levels of representation (Trampota) and social construction of reality (Berger, Luckmann). The method of critical discourse analysis is chosen for the research and the four principles for the analysis are described: commoditization, infotainment, personalization, congeniality. The practical part presents an analysis of the typical representation of celebrities due to the principles mentioned above in selected talk shows which were broadcast in English and Czech languages in 2015-2016, namely American The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Czech Jan Kraus Show. Keywords: Celebrity, Late-night Talk Show, Media Representation, Personalization, Congeniality, Infotainment, Commoditization

Drönarljusuppvisning : Ett system för en samlad drönarsvärm för ljusuppvisningar i luften / Drone Light Display : An edge deployed collaborative drone swarming system for aerial light displayWretblad, Niklas, Aarnio, Linus, Dahlgren, Eric, Elfstrand, Simon, Nolkrantz, Marcus, Sehlstedt, Robert, Landgren, Kasper January 2020 (has links)

The creation of a multi-cultural identity for window displays in Durban's fashion retail shop frontsLichkus, Sarah Christine 17 August 2012 (has links)
Submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the Masters Degree in Technology: Fashion Design, Durban University of Technology, 2012. / The purpose of this study was to explore the possibility of creating shop window displays
focussing on a South African identity in the Durban region. The impetus for the study
stemmed from the design of the Constitutional Court which features elements of South
African culture. This study challenges the contemporary notion of presenting window
displays using primarily Western influences and proposes the use of fashion imagery and
cultural identity currently dominating South Africa. The study argues against corporate
fashion stereotypes and champions a representation of an eclectic multi-cultural South
African society. In this respect key theories of identity, culture, and design were explored.
A qualitative methodology was conducted utilising interview and observation approaches
to obtain data. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with twelve local professionals
specialising in the fields of art, design, fashion and architecture to obtain their expert
opinions. The data was analysed by clustering information into themes to establish the
findings. Interview findings revealed that shop window displays should accommodate
local imagery appropriate to the South African context. Observing two local production
houses, namely Hirt & Carter and Barrows in Durban provided insights for a backdrop
creation for the practical component of the study. The practical comprised of producing
retail shop installations and a visual catalogue representing findings drawn from the study.
The catalogue was used to illustrate the results of investigating a national image and
identity that could be intrinsic to window display creation in South African fashion retail
shop fronts. / National Research Foundation

Kvinnan, kändisen, konfliktkatalysatorn : Bilden av kändisen Anna Anka i svensk nyhetsjournalistikBlomstrand, Nicole, Andersson, Maria January 2010 (has links)
The aim of this thesis was to examine how newspaper journalism represented the celebrity Anna Anka. Which roles and qualities did the media ascribe Anna Anka and in what way did the media frame her as a woman. We examined texts and photographs from two Swedish newspapers, Aftonbladet and Dagens Nyheter, 16 texts were analysed. The method we used were discourse analysis with focus on relations, identities and representation. The result showed that Anna Anka was represented in an essentially equal way in both newspapers. The image of Anna Anka seems to be multifaceted. In the texts Anna Anka becomes a symbol for conflicts that emerge in discourses regarding gender, celebrity and Swedish values. As a woman she is both portrayed as controversial and appearance-fixated. As a wife she is traditional, a woman who takes care of house and family and lets her husband be the provider. On the other hand she is described as a woman who does not follow the traditional norm, she is independent and has a possibility to support herself. As a celebrity, Anna Anka is framed as fairly new in the public appearance. But in some texts the newspapers define her as a woman who does not deserve to be the celebrity she is. Anna Anka is well aware of how the celebrity culture works, what the media finds interesting. As a Swede Anna Anka is framed as a person who no longer quite belongs in Sweden, and therefore is allowed to criticize Sweden and the Swedish values.
