Previous issue date: 2006-12-12 / The Ponta Negra borough is a part and the originally core of Ponta Negra quarter, placed on the South area of Natal/RN city. Its population was constituted by fishermen whose, beyond the fishing work, cultivated small plantations, made carbon and lace. For a long period of time, the borough was isolated from the rest of the city because of the great ground distance and due the fact that the local inhabitants found their own maintenance on the place. The scenery was being little by little modified from de 80 s because of the neighborhood urban development, that became one of the most searching tourism places in the city that turns the borough into a expensive place to live, with plenty of entertainment and high income, due the new habitation standards, new economic activities, new inhabitants belonging to higher social classes, new habits and way of living. The present work aims to verify weather or not, in the middle of all changes, the original social actors that still live in the Ponta Negra borough, are able to keep the traditional community bounds that once guided their existences. On that sense, we will analyze the conflicts that pass through the community, with attention on the sociability, space usage and appropriation / A Vila de Ponta Negra ? parte e n?cleo origin?rio do Bairro Ponta Negra, situado na zona sul da cidade de Natal/RN.

Migrant women entrepreneurship in Sweden: A life-course approach to contextualize gendered career trajectories.Bouleau, Chloé January 2020 (has links)
Emerging from discussions within gender, contextual embeddedness, and migration, this research addresses the issue of the labor market integration of highly educated migrant women in Sweden. The thesis seeks to broaden the understanding of the gender gap in entrepreneurship by contextualizing the decisions of starting a business, analyzing the different strategies employed by migrant women to develop their businesses as well as the role of entrepreneurship in their lives in relation to gender norms. The study uses the life course approach and methods as well as a gendered multi-context framework (Welter et al., 2014) to investigate the following research questions: 1) Under what circumstances do migrant women turn to entrepreneurship in their life course and what are the associated changes on their career? 2) How do they mobilize social ties across different spatial contexts and business stages? 3) How do migrant women make sense of entrepreneurship in relation to gendered societal norms from the country of origin and destination? The results suggest that complex temporal, spatial, social, and institutional dynamics condition the decision to start a business, and the different strategies employed. Furthermore, entrepreneurship appears as a way to challenge and overcome gender norms.

The changing face of the auditor : A study of auditors’ perception of their role, the last ten yearsEka, Emilia, Horn Olsson, Carl January 2023 (has links)
Regulations, digitalisation, and other megatrends influence many parts of society, not least the audit profession, and it is essential for the profession as well as the role of the auditor, to adapt to the changes and new requirements. It is inevitable for audit firms not to be exposed to digitalisation, and the Big Four (audit firms) are changing their identities. They are investing large amounts in data analytics and artificial intelligence. This study aims to analyse the auditor's perception of their role. This study builds on previous knowledge regarding e.g., digitalisation and auditing; however, previous research tends to have earlier periods in focus, and research on digitalisation and auditing is still limited and does not usually have the auditor's perception in focus. Therefore, this study contributes to the prevailing research by studying the effects of social changes on the auditor's perception of their role. A qualitative approach was used, and semi-structured interviews were conducted with auditors from PwC with at least ten years of experience in the profession. The results indicate, among other things, that social changes such as regulations, digitalisation and market expectations drive change within the profession. It further points to the fact that social changes affect the auditor's work, leading to a shift in the auditor's perception of their role towards it becoming standardised.

Mikrokredite für Frauen: Instrument zur Akkumulation von symbolischem Kapital?! Empowermentmaßnahmen als Basis für genderspezifischen sozialen Wandel am Beispiel des Mikrokreditsektors in MittelägyptenHanappi-Egger, Edeltraud, Hermann, Anett, Hofmann, Roswitha January 2010 (has links) (PDF)
Im vorliegenden Beitrag wird die Möglichkeit
diskutiert, genderspezifischen sozialen Wandel
in Schwellen- und Entwicklungsländern
über Mikrokreditvergabesysteme anzustoßen.
Anhand einer in Mittelägypten durchgeführten
Studie mit mehrfach diskriminierten
Frauen wird gezeigt, wie Mikrokredite die
Akkumulation nicht nur von ökonomischem,
sondern vor allem auch von kulturellem und
sozialem Kapital im Bourdieu'schen Sinne unterstützen
können. Wenn in diesem Kontext
eine Veränderung des symbolischen Kapitals
gelingt, kann dies zu neuen Wahrnehmungs-,
Denk- und Handlungsschemata der
Beteiligten und zu Strukturveränderungen
auf der Makroebene führen. Die theoretische
Modellierung von genderspezifischem
sozialem Wandel erfolgt in diesem Artikel
entlang empirischer Daten, die von den Autorinnen
in Mittelägypten erhoben wurden.

Poésie ivoirienne francophone et changements sociaux : études de quelques courants / Francophone Ivorian poetry and social changes : studies of some poetic streamsOtré-Aka, Angeline 30 January 2018 (has links)
This thesis focuses on three sides of poetry. The social changes that occurred in Côte d'Ivoire will be analyzed under the prism of the writings of the masters of orality, oralists, neo-oralists, in order to highlight the social upheavals wrought by their writings. But these writings also take into account the changes that the authors have been mere witnesses and the changes they have anticipated. On the other hand, we have shown the influence that social changes have had on their writings. The lyrical and epic writings of the masters of orality are imbued with societal changes and often "mumble" themselves in specific registers, preoccupied with their own themes, such as death. On the other hand, we have highlighted the action of the Negritude philosophers on sub-Saharan societies and the changes they have provoked through their committed writings. Then, we emphasized the importance of the oralists who were, by their critics, major actors in the change of the political system. The result has been the transition from the single party to multiparty politics. Finally, we have highlighted the significant contribution made by the neo-oralists in the Ivorian society, marked by the drift of political powers, notwithstanding the multiparty system. The neo-oralists who broadcast zouglou, slam and rap, are criticized for the low or no poeticity of their works. Nevertheless, is it possible to consider them as new paths and complementary voices that can impact societal transformations ?

Motivations and Engagement: Environmental Communication on SNS in China and SwedenFang, Weiwei January 2012 (has links)
As the name suggests and according to the developers’ intention, Social Networking Sites (SNS) are designed as tools for users to make friends and express themselves. However, the usage of SNS apparently goes beyond these aspects with more plurality and possibilities unforeseen by their conceivers. Much evidence shows that communicating about the environment and nature on social networking sites is a prominent phenomenon. However, few researchers have shed light on the individual use of SNS for environmental communication. Individuals in both China and Sweden generate, seek, disseminate and discuss environmental news and information on SNS. This exploratory study employs qualitative methods to examine this practice and compares the differences and similarities between Chinese and Swedish individuals in terms of environmental communication. Focusing on motivation and engagement, the study explains and describes why and how individuals in these two countries are engaged in environmental communication. The study also examines the social and political implications of this phenomenon by discussing the relationship among new technology, communication and social changes.

This study is about the impact of the historical-social changes in the Physical Education teachers’ pedagogical actions and one of its main goals is to understand how these changes interfere in the physical education teachers' pedagogical action in the school context in formation cycles. Social changes and pedagogical action, which are objects of analysis of the study, are seen through the dialectic materialism perspective. Understanding the study object under such perspective means that this research had to be started at the concrete and historical subject, in his/her practical actions. In other words, at the physical education teachers' pedagogical action in their daily lives and, as well as their relationship with the changes that are currently verified in the society. The information was gotten from the observations that had been registered in the field diary, or that had been extracted from the written narratives, from the analyzed documents and from the semi-structured interviews accomplished during the field work in two schools of the Municipal Net of Schools of Porto Alegre. The space-time organization, seeking to respect student’s different time and rhythm of development and learning; poor-class student’s inclusion and staying at school; equality of the time (hours of class a week) among the different knowledge areas; the collective work and weekly pedagogic meetings are some of the changes that most physical education teachers highlighted as significant at “Projeto Escola Cidadã”, carried out at the in RME/POA. The way families are organized, as well as the changes in the socializing role of the family and the school and the new information and communication technologies in the every-day of people and the communities' migratory flow, where the researched schools are located, are understood, by the teachers, as a consequence of contemporary society changes that end up interfering, direct or indirectly, in the pedagogical organization of schools. The migration flow, more specifically people's internal migration from and to the different areas of Porto Alegre city, has been, in the physical education teachers’ view, one of the aspects that has been interfering intensely in their pedagogical action and in the organization of the pedagogical every-day of the school. The migration of families from and to the different areas of the city may be interfering in the relationship between school and community, as well as causing interpersonal relationship changes, not just among the community's people, but students as well. At the same way, that continuous migratory movement can be considered as one of the aspects that has made it difficult to realize the participation proposal in the democratic process of the schools, besides making it difficult for the groups to see each other as a group. Therefore, it is possible to think that this migratory movement of families is one of the aspects that has been interfering in the organization of the pedagogical every-day of schools, and physical education teachers’, perceiving they need to change their pedagogical actions, are challenged.
