Diversité des lectures littéraires : comment former des sujets lecteurs divers? / Diverse literary readings : devloping diverse subject readers

Sauvaire, Marion 15 April 2013 (has links)
We argue that literary reading education, at secondary school and CEGEP levels, can contribute to the development of diverse subject readers—i.e., plural, changing and contradictory subjects—within a historical perspective but able to distance themselves reflexively, aided by their own interpretation of the text and the interpretations of other readers. Firstly, we developed a model for understanding subject reader diversity, based on the critical analysis of a uniform, homogeneous and essentialist concept of the subject that the school should teach and the culture that it wishes to pass on. Secondly, we examined to what extent the diversity of interpretations actually produced by students can effectively establish the mediation of the understanding of self and others as a diverse subject reader. This understanding is inevitably transitory, fragmented, intersubjective and reflexive, given that it is based on the confrontation between different interpretations produced successively by the same reader and simultaneously by several readers. Thirdly, we described and explained how students develop several interpretations of a literary text by using their various subjectivity resources while at the same time appropriating interpretive elements developed jointly with their peers and teacher. In keeping with these hermeneutic and praxeological objectives, we have designed a teaching sequence, based on La plage des songes by S. Péan (1998). This sequence incorporates individual and collaborative reading, writing and speaking activities. It was tested by two teachers, during the first year of lycée studies in France and as part of a CEGEP-level course in Quebec. Our qualitative methodology is intended to promote thorough understanding of seven reader paths, using data gathered through classroom observation, student texts and interviews. This multi-case study confirms that students are capable of linking different subjective resources (cognitive, epistemic, psycho-emotional, sociocultural, axiological), taking a step back from their interpretations and those of their peers, and reflecting on their reading experience. Intersubjective exchanges (particularly between the reading committees) play a significant role in students’ reflexive understanding of the singularity and diversity of their interpretative paths.

These concerns were outbursts of teachers who affirmed they were not able to proceed faced with the difficulties, on students side, to the comprehension of the contents, much of this critical situation is attributed to the absence of intimacy between students and reading. In this regard our research arose aiming at analyzing reading practices experienced by PROEJA students as a way to understand their formation as a subject-reader. Our work is based on Kleiman (1996), Silva (1995), Orlandi (1996), Soares (2001), Freire (1994) and Foucambert (1989) reading conceptions, theorists whose works are centered on basic and elementary principles about the grasp of reading and writing mechanisms. The observation was carried out in a PROEJA classroom, at da Escola Técnica de Saúde de Cajazeiras, Universidade Federal de Campina Grande, in December 2009 and March 2010. The group was made up of 20 young and adult students and they were chosen by draw, eight of them to an interview. Methodological procedures were conducted on a qualitative research, which in description and analysis offers us a better approach to research subject; semi-structured interviews and data analysis method, following the investigation of interviewees speech, ensuring, in this way, a systematic organization of interviews transcripts, followed by their awareness allied with theoretical discussions about reading. We verified, broadly, students mainly tend to read novels, comics and newspapers. School environment is limited to textbook contents, which do not reach, in most cases, student s reading sensitivity.

Le corpus littéraire dans l'enseignement du français / The literary corpus in French teaching

Braham Sassi, Lamia 30 April 2015 (has links)
This research, which focuses on the problem of literary corpus, is a reflection on the past and current teaching practices and modes of readings that treat literary texts. Our main goal is to show that there are specific usages of literature at schools. These are determined by the educational and political values specific to a given geographical and cultural context.Furthermore, this study focuses on studying the issue of school corpus while considering the Tunisian context in order to see if there are specific situations in FLE whereby the corpus meets specific educational goals. Because of the close relationship between texts and reading practices, we have tried to show that the approach to academic reading at school often backgrounds readers and subjectivity. It is in this sense that the literary historical, social and individual reception is a phenomenon that addresses the educational impact of the latter on learners and on the choice of texts at school.

Apprentissage de la lecture et construction de l'identité de lecteur au cours préparatoire / Learning how to read and the construction of a reader identity in primary school

Perrin, Agnès 12 December 2012 (has links)
In the last decades of the twentieth century, literary critics strove to define what place to give the reader amidst the process of literary creation. Scrutinized under different angles (cognitive, cultural, psychoanalytical, anthropological, sociological, linguistic, aesthetic), the activity of the reader as recipient of a given work has now been described with accuracy, observed again and again to better fathom the conditions in which this reception takes place. In the wake of these studies, didactic research also questions the way a reader in-training can set up an intimate relationship to literature and grow into a position which allows him/her to enter the game -to which a literary work quintessentially invites him/her- in order to assimilate the literary text, to actualize it and draw personal benefit from his/her readings. We believe the various reader positionings, so far described only from the models of expert readers, can also be taught, simultaneously with the rigorous acquisition of reading skills. To tackle this issue, this thesis has defined an epistemological framework based, on the one hand, upon Michel Picard and Vincent Jouve's models of theorization of the readership, and on the other hand, upon research in literature didactics which have renewed the way of teaching it by taking into account the reader as subject. The exploratory dimension of this research which compares two types of learning has permitted to find out-the different processes implemented by pupils to understand and invest the texts-the representations concerning reading that they build according to different learning situations-the conditions necessary to the mobilization of their subjectivity in building a participatory and/or distanciated reading. This research will also have permitted to suggest a few hypotheses aimed at building the bases of the modelization of the reading processes at work for the reader in-training.

Santos, Claudiana dos 22 February 2018 (has links)
The studies about reading in Brazil are developed under different perspectives, so this research aims to understand the production of meanings about the constitution of the reader and the social memory of reading from textual / discursive materialities that point to the the functioning of discursive formations and, consequently, interdiscourse. In order to achieve this goal, we selected reading projects, reports and documents that circulate in ideological instances of economic, juridic, religious and educational space. With the theoretical-methodological background of French Line Discourse Analysis we conducted the discursive study of the subject-reader object. The theoretical framework is subsidized by Michel Pêcheux (1995;1997; 2015), Eni P. Orlandi (2003;2007; 2008; 2015), Maria do Rosário V. Gregolin (2006), S. Possenti (2003), José H. Nunes (1992;2003), Helena H. Brandão (2012) and Eduardo Guimarães (1996, 2013). The course of this analysis is constructed under the following categories: discourse, subject-form, ideology, interdiscourse, discursive formation, production conditions, corpus, file and clipping. Regarding the approach, the research presents a qualitative bias and for the composition of the empirical corpus we adopted documentary research. Taking into consideration the outcome of this study, the method identified that the economic instance takes back the sense of the mode of functioning of the subject of capitalism, since there are prizes and financial recognitions for the work of reading. In the juridical instance, the subjectreader is constituted from a model that recalls the memory of punishment, the knowledge that comes from submission to rules. In the religious instance, there is the erasure of the construction of the reading path and a work of disciplinarization of the subject-reader. In the educational instance, specifically in the objectives of PNLL, we identify the meanings of an "official discourse" that guarantees the liberalism of reading, aiming at the formation of a reading society. In all instances there is the functioning of discursive formations that take up the pedagogical practice. The senses operate in the dissemination of a culture that values and encourages reading, forcing the erasure of a historical memory in which the Brazilian "does not like to read." Thus, the constitution of the reader-subject occurs in the dispersion of the different types of reading. O referencial teórico é subsidiado por Michel Pêcheux (1995;1997; 2015); Eni P. Orlandi (2003; 2007; 2008; 2015); Maria do Rosário V. Gregolin (2006); S. Possenti (2003); José H. Nunes (1992; 2003), Helena H. Brandão (2012) e Eduardo Guimarães (1996; 2013).

The gloss around lexical items in french elementary scholl : between episodes metadiscursive elucidation of meaning and "figures of the addition", a place of learning procedure, a challenge for the formation of non-specialist teachers .

Genre, Stéphanie 20 November 2015 (has links)
This research joins in the field of French language didactics, in the area of contact between teaching of the language and teaching of literature in the third “cycle” of the French primary school. It covers the gloss around lexical items of the text to be read (the metalexical " episodes ") and the exchanges around the words the pupils use for their own comments (the " words of the reception ").What do they do exactly when they speak about the words of a text or what are the words they use to speak about a text? What link do they make with the prescription regarding teaching of the lexicon on one hand, and regarding teaching of the literary reading on the other hand? The method of analysis of the data is comparative. It concerns three 5th classes of primary school, two experimented teachers and a teacher starting their career, around two albums of youth literature: La petite fille du livre (Nadja) and Zappe la guerre (Pef). We led a qualitative study based on the transcriptions of the exchanges filmed in the classes, as well as on the transcriptions of interviews and plans of self-confrontation (borrowed from the study of ergonomics and ergology). This work focuses on the metadiscourse in its wider sense, studied by Andrée Borillo (1985) who includes the linguistic conducts of comment, definition, explanation, concerning the code or the facts of discourse. We first based our subject on the linguistic plan and we analysed what makes it specific - the diversity of the conducts and the linguistic processes. We then tried to seize its peculiarity within the framework of a literary reading activity. From reference works in lexicology and in literature didactics, we built a model distinguishing several categories of gloss (the glosses on meaning, the glosses on sense, the glosses on realia and generic glosses). We put all these glosses in three paradigms: a semantic paradigm, a generic paradigm and a personal paradigm. We were able to show, among other factors, that the work on the lexical field of literature cannot be reduced to its definition, the main category presumed by teachers, as it leads to many other conducts. We also showed that this work plays a role in the activity of symbolization that is expected from the subject reader in literary context. However, the analysis of the act of teaching shows the complexity of the piloting of these interactions around the lexicon and the necessity of training the teachers regarding lexicon teaching in a literary context.
