The aim of master thesis is implementation of USB host in a microcontroller PIC. The thesis contains description of ways of peripherals to computer connections with detailed description of USB bus. There are also discussed several approaches in implementations USB host for embedded systems. A concept of layered USB host system is designed on the basis of analysis of the state of the art. Finally, the designed system is implemented in microcontroller. Resulting firmware of development kit is tested on real USB device.

This thesis deals with a face detection on mobile phones. It especially focuses on Windows Mobile platform. The introduction is therefore devoted to this operating system and alternatives of working with the camera. The next part of the text refers to general problems of the face detection in the image considering the weak performance of the target device. Another part of this thesis is a description of the acquisition of images from the camera using DirectShow multimedia framework and creation of a custom transformation filter for the face detection. Achieved results are summarized in the conclusion. It takes a form of tests examining different mobile devices. All difficulties arising during Windows Mobile developing are also mentioned.

This master's thesis deals with development of dictionary application for devices with Android operating system. The application provides examples in form of sentences, which can help users decide what translation variant is the right for them. This application is created as alternative for web service benimsozluk.com and there is cooperation between them. This thesis describes theoretical knowledge related to Android and development of this application. Parts of this thesis are dedicated to design as well as implementation of the application. The reader is introduced to testing conclusions. Testing was done for improving the application as well as for making an assessment of the application final state. In the final part potential future development of the application is drafted.

Aims: The study of cognitive functioning in large epidemiological settings is hampered by a lack of instruments for the remote assessment of cognitive performance, especially when targeting variability across the full range of adult functioning. The present study examined the practicability of such investigations using a recently developed telephone interview (Cognitive Telephone Screening Instrument, COGTEL). Methods: A subcohort of an ongoing epidemiological study in the elderly German population (ESTHER) was interviewed via telephone by trained personnel. These data were combined with sociodemographic information obtained by standardized self-administered questionnaires, and analysed by tabulation, histograms and regression models. Results: A total of 1,697 interviews could be analysed. The eligible participants had a mean age ± standard deviation of 74.0 ± 2.8 years. The COGTEL total scores closely followed a normal distribution with no evidence of a ceiling effect. In adjusted regression models, COGTEL total and subcomponent scores were negatively associated with age and strongly positively with higher education, whereas the association with sex was less consistent. Conclusions: The results suggest that the COGTEL can readily be administered to large study populations and produces plausible and informative results. Education should be considered in all investigations using this instrument and requires further in-depth analyses. The diploma thesis focuses on the gender analysis of the contents based on the Mobility's magazine cover pages. The thesis emphasizes the identification of men and women's representations in this magazine. The Mobility magazine was published once a month from the 1999 till 2011. The analysis is conducted on the complete set of the individual cover pages and deals with an interesting development in these representations. The thesis is divided into theoretical and analytical part. The theoretical part is dedicated to media in the connection with its gender theory and power in the society. Furthermore, this part includes theories dealing with the gender representations in advertisement (Goffman, Sztompka, Indruchová). In the analytical part there is a comparison of the mentioned theories with the examined sample. The detailed description of the individual categories identified within this analysis is presented as well. The ‘Red Phone’, understood as a telephone connection between the Cremlin and the White House, never existed. In this paper I treat it as a hybrid object of knowledge, whose materiality is mixed with facts and fictions. When the fictitious object first appeared in literature and film it was still relatively amorphous and insignificant. Only due to an increased production of signs, symbolic attributions, narrative strategies and rhetorical figures was the notorious Cold War apparatus constituted. As a discursive object the ‘Red Phone’ in turn provides specific information on a form of knowledge characteristic of this period. The ‘Red Phone’ is closely connected to crisis situations that deal with apocalyptic scenarios. To better understand this hybrid object this paper will analyze the short story „Abraham ’59 – A nuclear Fantasy“ (Harvey Wheeler) and the novel Fail-Safe (Eugene Burdick/Harvey Wheeler) that both stage a telephone connection between Moscow and Washington, which aims at deescalating a crisis situation.

Det finns endast ett fåtal studier publicerade om återhämtning i arbetet, mer forskning behöver belysa återhämtningens viktiga roll och möjliga återhämtningsstrategier på arbetsplatsen. Syftet med föreliggande studie var att undersöka sjuksköterskors upplevelse av återhämtning i arbetet, genom att studera schemalagd återhämtningstid på 1177 Vårdguiden på telefon. Fokus riktas mot att skapa förståelse för vilken betydelse återhämtning i arbetet har för arbetsbelastningen och arbetsklimatet, genom att undersöka hantering av arbetsuppgifterna och socialt samspel iarbetsgruppen. Semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med tio sjuksköterskor på 1177 Vårdguiden på telefon. Insamlade data analyserades med hjälp av tematisk analysmetod och resulterade i fem teman; energi i arbetet, full närvaro i samtalet, legitimt att återhämta sig i arbetet, att kunna släppa arbetet under pausen samt gemenskap i arbetsgruppen. Resultatet visar på vikten av att uppleva en frihet i att kunna återhämta sig efter eget behov samt möjligheten till att släppa arbetet under pausen. Återhämtning i arbetet är betydande för arbetsbelastningen då det upplevs ge mer energi, ett ökat fokus, effektivitet samt möjligheten att inta en professionell roll vid hantering av arbetsuppgifterna. Återhämtning i arbetet är betydande för arbetsklimatet då det upplevs ge gemenskap i arbetsgruppen, ett ökat stöd för varandra, reflektion med kollegor samt möjligheten till att utveckla arbetsrelationer vid studerande av det socialasamspelet i arbetsgruppen. Studien bidrar med en förståelse för att återhämtning är en viktig resurs för att uppleva kontroll och gemenskap i arbetet, vilket kan främja organisatorisk och social arbetsmiljö. / There are only a few published studies about recovery at work. More research would be necessary to investigate the importance of recovery and the potential recovery strategies in an working environment. The purpose of this study was to examine the nurses' experience of recovery at work by studying scheduled recovery time at 1177 Healthcare Service over the phone. The study focus on finding and to understand the importance of recovery at work by investigating the workload and working climate, these factors was looked at on how well the nurses managed their work tasks and social interaction in the workgroup. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with ten nurses at the 1177 Healthcare Service over the phone. Gathered data was looked at using thematic analysis which resulted in five themes; energy levels at work, the presence in the conversation with the caller, the legitimate acceptance to recover at work, ability to detach from work during breaks and the nurses solidarity in the workgroup. The result show the importance of each individuals need to feel like they are in demand of their own recovery as well as being able to detach themselves from work during their breaks. Recovery at work has a significant impact on the workload as it is perceived to provide the nurses with higher levels of energy, better focused, become more efficient and the ability to enter a more professional role when handling their work tasks. Recovery is also important for the nurses working climate, it provides the feeling of getting a closer relationship with colleagues, higher level of support and the time to reflect with each other and the opportunity to develop work related relationships, results shown after the insight of studying the interaction of the work group. The study contributes to understand the importance of recovery as a resource for the person to feelin control and solidarity at work which can benefit the organisational and social work environment.

Diploma thesis focuses on modern trends in marketing communication of specific educational institution. Main goal of the thesis is to analyse and to design of a mobile application for Faculty of Management University of Economics in Prague as a new tool of marketing communication intended for candidates interested in studying and potential students. Theoretical part of the thesis includes general topics about strategic university management of Universities, marketing communication and relations management. Author also presents the mobile application as a product, its applicability, ways of its distribution and necessary steps for its analysis and design.

The master‘s thesis discusses the issue of the project Telco Servis whose focus are business activities aimed at drawing-in the Internet on cancelled fixed telephone lines. It introduces the formal aspect of project management and methods used in the pre-project phase. The work focuses on key parts of the project, such as analysis of the sales process, time analysis of specific parts of the sales process, company CRM description or project risk analysis. In the design part it deals with the estimated costs of the project and the fulfilment of the necessary conditions for its launch.
