Den 22 oktober 2015 attackeras en skola i Trollhättan av en maskerad gärningsman, han är beväpnad med kniv och ett svärdliknande föremål och lyckas attackera tre personer innan han själv skjuts till döds av polis. Den här uppsatsen handlar om just denna händelse och hur den återberättas i några av våra största nyhetsmedium. Jag vill undersöka hur artiklarna bidrar till en förståelse av denna händelse genom den berättelse som de tillsammans skapar. För att undersöka detta vill jag se vilka perspektiv som väljs när händelsen beskrivs, vilka röster som får höras och vilka delar av händelsen som ges utrymme. Jag undersöker således artiklarna med hjälp av textanalys och jag kombinerar en narrativ analys med kontextualiseringsanalys, för att sedan koppla resultaten till postkolonial diskursanalys. Jag har valt att kombinera dessa tre analysmetoder för att de tillsammans kan ge ökad förståelse för hur diskriminerande strukturer kan reproduceras via text, och i synnerhet mediernas olika texter. För det är just det jag vill undersöka i denna uppsats, hur de sex valda nyhetsartiklarna kan ge uttryck för diskriminerande strukturer. Analysen visar bland annat att den beskrivna platsen, Kronogården i Trollhättan, inte beskrivs som vilken plats som helst, utan som en plats där ”de” bor, där ”vi” inte hör hemma. Artiklarna bidrar till att skapa en polarisering mellan ”oss” och ”dem”, och platsen beskrivs vara en utsatt plats redan innan skolattacken ägt rum. De olika grupper som framträder i texterna tillskrivs också olika värden, där ”vi” ofta tillskrivs positiva egenskaper till skillnad från ”de”.

The purpose of this study is to explain the development of the first higher technical education in Trollhättan, with the added perspective of Trollhättans strong industrial profile as a city. The interesting thing being that the city did not try to first and foremost get a regular higher education, but a technical higher education instead. The study describes the political twists and turns the question took from its most early stage in the year 1940 and how the city's industrial profile did indeed have an impact on the development of the first higher technical education. Especially because there was a need for educated engineers in the city, as well as the country of Sweden in large during this time. The study also tries to explain the problems related to such a development, primarily by describing the lack of sufficient housing for schools during the 1950's, this meant that the higher regular school and the higher technical school had to cooperate in finding said housing. To put the study in context a brief summary of the educational system in large, Trollhättan as an industrial city during the 1940's and 1950's as well as Trollhättans educational system besides higher education, is also included. The resulting study has mostly been achieved by studying relevant sources in Trollhättans city-archives as well as the local paper ”Trollhättans tidning” during the relevant years 1956, 1958 and 1959.

Sustainability has become a popular term within the official and local government. The concept of sustainability is now as visible in the work of the municipalities as it is at a national level. However, the term sustainability lacks a viable definition in city planning. The ecological and the social dimensions of sustainability are clearly more visible in planning processes and in planning documents than economic sustainability. Research shows that the economic perspective in city planning often is neglected compared to the other dimensions of sustainability. Thus the importance of economic sustainability is diminished in planning processes and is often left to be used as a framework to the ecological and the social dimensions of sustainability. Given this problem, this study wishes to unfold if the municipality of Trollhättan, Sweden plans for a economic sustainable development. A qualitative case-study is used were data is generated by an interview in addition to several literature analysis. In the literature analysis code words were identified to help find the relevant data. The empirical data is then analyzed and the results of the study were that the municipality of Trollhättan plans for an economic sustainable development, however the term is rather inserted in other aspects of sustainable development than treated as a sole aspect. Understanding the usage of the implementation of the term economic sustainability in city planning can help further research of development and economically sustainable communities.
