Detta är ett examensarbete inom informationsdesign med inriktning mot rumslig gestaltning. Syftet med min undersökning var att ta reda på hur ett kvarter i Eskilstuna kan formges till virtual reality (VR)-mediet, så att det går att få en upplevelse av hur en stadsplanering skulle kunna se ut om den genomfördes i verkligheten.     Resultatet från min studie är grundat på, prototyping, intervjuer, och en enkät.   Min undersökning visade att för att det ska gå att få en upplevelse av ett stadsrums utseende efter en nybyggnation, bör representationen formges efter tänkt målgrupp och budskap. Felaktiga eller för många informationsgivande detaljer kan leda till att fokus hamnar på information som inte är nödvändig, eller till och med felaktig, för att förstå hur kvarteret kan komma att se ut efter en nybyggnation.  För lite information om olika detaljer eller för låg detaljrikedom kan leda till att representationen blir svårtolkad. Min undersökning visade också att visuella detaljer som är svåra att formge, bör kompletteras med t.ex. texter, symboler, röster och illustrationer.

Det finns ett stort behov av att på olika sätt förmedla information inom hälso- och sjukvården. Hur patienten tar till sig den preoperativa informationen skiljer sig åt. Syftet i denna pilotstudie var att undersöka om en informationsfilm via internetlänk, tillsammans med skriftlig standardinformation preoperativt, ger ökad patienttillfredsställelse i jämförelse med enbart standardinformation. Med en kvantitativ ansats tillsammans med en randomiserad kontrollerad metod utfördes en enkätledd telefonintervju dagen efter besöket på dagkirurgen. Antalet deltagare var 21 stycken, 8 i interventionsgruppen och 13 i referensgruppen. Resultatet visade att deltagarna ansåg att preoperativ information var mycket viktig och hur den bör delges skilde sig åt. Alla tyckte sig bra informerade, men deltagarna som såg informationsfilmen menade att den ökade förståelsen av händelseförloppet. Ingen skillnad gällande patienttillfredsställelse sågs mellan grupperna. Pilotstudien påvisar vikten av att tillgodose patienters behov av information och att den bör förmedlas på olika sätt.

Mobile Endgeräte beeinflussen unseren Alltag und sind allgegenwärtig. Besonders die Vielfalt der Nutzungsmöglichkeiten entwickeln sich stetig weiter. Die meisten Funktionen dieser Geräte basieren auf der visuellen Informationsein- und Ausgabe. Hingegen sind die nicht-visuellen Aktionsmöglichkeiten weniger verbreitet. In der Bachelorarbeit werden darum die Parameter und die Symboldarstellung der nicht-visuellen Informationsausgabe untersucht. Des Weiteren wird eine Auswahl verschiedener Forschungsprojekte, externer Geräte und anwendungsbereiter Software vorgestellt, die sich größtenteils mit der Navigation besonders im Bezug auf Smartphones beschäftigt. Aus den gewonnenen Erkenntnissen ist die konzeptionelle Idee einer Navigationsanwendung für Smartphones entstanden. Im Bezug dazu ist eine denkbare Teststrecke im Elbsandsteingebirge für mögliche Experimente und Versuche vorgeschlagen worden, welche vielfältige Bereiche der Navigationsmöglichkeiten abdeckt. / Mobile devices are upiquitous these days and influence our everyday life dramatically, especially as the variety and use of applications is ever-evolving. However, most of the functions of these devices are based on input and output of visual information data. Non-visual features are not yet particularly common. This is why the different parameters and depictions of symbols of the non-visual data output type have been analysed in this paper. Moreover, there are some research projects, additional equipment and applications presented in here which are primarily concerned with the navigational functionality deployed by Smart phones. The study and research undertaken for this paper has lead to the creation of a concept for an application program which relates to navigational functionality based on smart phones. A test track in the Sächsische Schweiz National Parl, "Elbsandsteingebirge", has already been developed for the purpose of conducting further experiments in this area.

I denna rapport har jag redogjort för hur jag gått tillväga i skapandet av ett illustrerat handledningsmaterial som kan förklara för elever i årskurs 4-9 hur olikablomväxter och deras livscykel ser ut. Uppdraget har varit ett samarbete mellan mig och Uppsala botaniska trädgård. Detta handledningsmaterial som skapats ska användas av lärare eller handledare under studiedagar på Uppsala botaniska trädgård i undervisning om blomväxter. Informationen i arbetsmaterialet innefattar hur blomväxters livscykel kan se ut, hur blommor kan sprida sina frön och hur blommor pollineras.För att komma fram till hur dessa kretslopp och företeelser kan illustreras för att visa den väsentliga informationen har jag använt mig av teorier inom informationsdesign. En omvärldsanalys och målgruppsanalys har också genomförts för att undersöka hur liknande material kan se ut, och vilka förutsättningar målgruppen har för att ta till sig informationen. / In this report, I explain how and what I have done to create an illustrated learning material that can explain the different events in the life cycle of flowering plants for pupils in grades 4-9. This has has been a collaboration between me and the Uppsala Botanical Garden. This material is meant to be used by teachers or personnel during visits at the Uppsala Botanical Garden to teach pupils about flowering plants. The information in the finished material include how the lifecycle of flowering plants might look like, how these plants can spread their seeds and how flowers are pollinated.To find out how to illustrate the important information of these evenets I have used principles of information design. A situational analysis and target audience analysis has also been conducted to investigate how this kind of learning materials might look like and under what conditions the pupils understand the information.

I detta arbete redogör jag för hur jag går tillväga för att skapa en representation av en historisk plats. Som fall använder jag mig av Kilakastalen (ett medeltida försvars- och vakttorn) med kringliggande miljö för att visa hur den kan ha sett ut under medeltiden. Det gör jag i samarbete med Sörmlands museum där min kontakt har varit arkeolog Lars Norberg. För att komma fram till vilken teknik, bildvinkel och perspektiv som är bäst att använda i detta sammanhang utgår jag från vad arkeologerna vill visa, olika forskningsresultat och litteratur för att därefter redogöra för mitt resultat. / In this article I explain my process when creating a representation of a historical site. I have used Kilakastalen and its surroundings as a case when I try to show the viewer how it may have looked like in the middle ages. I have done this in cooperation with Sörmlands museum and archaeologist Lars Norberg. My work is based on what the museum wants to show, previous research and literature on information visualization, the given medium and target group. I try to understand which technique, angel and perspective are the best to use under these circumstances.

The purpose of this study was to gain a more in-depth knowledge and understanding of the dating applications Tinder and Grindr and their structure regarding accented information and identity codes. I intended to gain an understanding of human perception and how this is applied to our modern dating applications. The main focus of the thesis was information hierarchies and visual hierarchies and how people perceive various visual elements. Another relevant aspect was the applications profile settings and self- presentation on the web. The method of the study was a qualitative content analysis with a deductive approach. The empirical material was categorized and summarized in a comparison between the two applications. In the study, discussions arose about the target group and the actual motives of the applications, which was a significant part of the result. Questions about gender, self and other specific identity aspects were also discussed during the study. This essay is written in Swedish.
