Adaptiva gränssnitt: Desktop-first vs Mobile-first : En jämförelse av två strategier för att skapa adaptiva gränssnitt för webbenTörnros, Tobias, Nilsson, Johan, Robertsson, Mattias January 2014 (has links)
In recent years the development of mobile devices has made great progress and today they account for a large proportion of the internet usage. This trend poses new demands on web developers as more companies and product owners want to customize their services and products for this new market. In this study we examine the pros and cons of the strategies desktop-first and mobile-first in the development of adaptive interfaces for the web. The study aims to create guidelines for situations in which each strategy fits well. The purpose of the study is to create an understanding of how these strategies can help developers and product owners to develop adaptive interfaces based on different goals and objectives. The study was conducted through the development of two high-fidelity prototypes for the redesign of an existing website. A literature review was also performed to create a deeper understanding of the subject. Our conclusion showed that mobile-first was preferable when building a website from scratch. However, there are cases when desktop-first may be preferable, for example, in the redesign of an existing website where the foundation is already finished. Furthermore, the study has led us to the realization that there are many purposes of different websites making the subject complex. Therefore, the developer should always make an evaluation of the product owner's goals and objectives in order to choose the right strategy.

Previous issue date: 2016-06-20 / Men have a close relationship with games and are known to have, each, their particular ways of playing (observer, competitive, entertaining etc.), which can establish different types of players. While analog games are held in predetermined places and times, in the virtual world they reach a geographic scope and can be played in both synchronous and asynchronous forms, acquiring a strong presence in everyday life and being even practiced between
so-called “serious activities”. The presence of games in our daily life is driven by gadgets and screens always connected to the Internet, which contributes to the systems and applications to adopt game elements in contexts considered inapt for play – the gamefication.
While games are considered free activities, these gamefied systems can be practiced with both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Thus, gamefication may also be understood as a precondition for application in websites. This project reports a theoretical discussion
and the proposal of defining the Play-Driven Design model, which allows content websites to propitiate meaningful experiences and engagement of their personas.

Interface design aspects identification of educational hypermedia documents that influence the learning and proposed uses.Renato Josué de Carvalho 17 November 2003 (has links)
This work combines concepts used in interface design of hypermedia documents and psychology notions related to learning and cognition, identifying correlated characteristics. The research done is concerned in offering an organized reference to interface development of hypermedia documents used in educational systems. This research contains a study about two sets of factors, one related to human learning and the other related to Web interface design. The intersection of these two sets consists of related elements with the graphic interface that are relevant to learning. In addition, the text presents proposals for using these concepts.

To create a useful website with a creative appearance : A study on how to design a personal website that has both usability and a creative appearanceErixon-Ågren, Malin January 2015 (has links)
It becomes increasingly more difficult to stand out among the personal sites on the internet today and to become the one who actually gets remembered in the crowd. To be remembered, you need to have a useful website but also a creative appearance added to it. In this practical thesis I have focused on how a website should look like according to users and then added a creative look to the user-friendly website. The purpose of the study is to find out how to connect a useful website with a creative appearance. In order to do that, I first had to find out what users actually want. I used a survey in which I have asked questions about how a website should look like. Using the results of the survey I created prototypes and appearance sketches that I used in user tests. I used the results from the user test and created the final website that represents what users in this study believe is a useful website. To connect the useful website with a creative appearance, I created a short video clip of six seconds to loop on the website's front page. The welcome note describing the site's purpose is reached by means of an arrow, and therefore not directly visible when you enter the site. I have with this created a depth and a creative design solution to the website and thanks to the movement it got more interesting.

This report describes the process of developing a user-friendly and responsive archive website. The website is a Hi-fi prototype and was created for the company JG Communications, to serve as an archive for their customers’ style guidelines. To create this website I have used HTML5 and CSS3 to make it responsive for various computer screens. I have also used PHP and some JavaScript to make some of the functions and Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to make design elements for the prototype. The main purpose with this project was to come up with a design and most of all to come up with how the site should function. I have done user tests combined with interviews, content analysis on JG Communications website, and applied various design methods when building and designing the website.

Studie av webbtillgänglighet för de med läs- och skrivsvårigheter : Analys av universitets och högskolors webbplatser / Study of Web accessibility for those with reading and writing difficulties : An analysis of Swedish university websitesOtteryd, Christine January 2013 (has links)
The aim of this study is to evaluate how well Swedish university websites is accessible for users with dyslexia. Websites that is not accessible leaves out a large group of people. The purpose of this study is to find solutions and give recommendations for improvement, to make sure the university websites is accessible for all persons. The analysis in the study is based on W3C WAI guidelines about accessibility and is concentrated to users with dyslexia. Methods used in the study are a qualitative method where the guidelines were compared with the university websites. Also a couple of persons have tested and handed out their opinions about the same websites. The result after analyzing the websites shows that the websites lack web accessibility, both in bigger and minor parts. A solution to the web accessibility problem is the recommendations, which was produced after the analysis. The conclusion of the study is that a university website can be accessible with the help of the recommendations.
