The study broaches the learning lived by young students who participate in the Student Youth Pastoral in the State of Rio Grande do Sul. The emphasis of the investigation has not detained to the scholar condition of the students, but to their juvenile condition, particular of participants of youth groups of the pastoral and to the learning that takes place there, as of the speeches of the youngsters themselves. The Student Youth Pastoral consists of an organization of young students that has as basis the articulation of youth groups in the schools. It integrates the entirety of the Youth Pastorals of Brazil, which is linked to the Youth Sector of the Catholic Church. It develops, through this organization, the formation of leaderships as of principles such as the juvenile protagonists, the integral formation, the development of transforming social actions and the living of the spirituality. For the accomplishment of this research, three groups of discussion were organized, involving 23 youngsters who participate or have already been part of the Student Youth Pastoral. The first group occurred with youngsters withdrawn from the pastoral and who were at the utmost 29 years old. The second one was accomplished with young coordinators of the Student Youth Pastoral, and the third one with young beginners in the groups of youngsters who participate at least for one year. The groups of discussion were the privileged methodological strategy for the survey of the data of the investigation. The study supports itself in the theoretical references that make a theme out of the youths in the contemporary world, and the relation of the youngsters with the knowledge. Authors like José Machado Pais, Alberto Melucci, Carles Feixa Pàmpols, Bernard Charlot, Helena Abramo, Marília Pontes Sposito and Dina Krauskopf contributed significantly for the study. The investigation undertaken close to the young people of the Student Youth Pastoral about their learning in the groups of youth groups resulted in the organization and analysis of three axes to which the attentions of the participants turn around for the matter of the themes: socialization, subjectivity and knowledge. In the first one, learning about the themes related to the group processes is referred to, and all that involve the experiences accomplished in common. In the second, those related directly to the person of the young in the diverse dimensions of the subjectivity are pointed out. Now in the third one, the learning related to two sets, the one of the practical knowledge and the one of the relational knowledge is referred to. The youngsters point out that the learning does not limit on their participation and utilization in the groups of the Student Youth Pastoral. They point out that they are suitable for them in the way of maintain them present in their trajectories, making use of these in other collectives in which they transit, in their professional choices, in their interpersonal relations and in the projects of life that they formulate.

Religion and empire in Manchester, 1876-99, with particular reference to the Catholic ChurchCunniffe, Stephen January 2011 (has links)
This thesis examines the interaction between religion and empire in Manchester between 1876 and 1899 with particular focus on the Catholic Church. The existing story of imperialism and religion in Manchester argues that by 1900 there existed a common imperial culture across all Churches. Whilst this is convincing, this thesis examines the Catholic story, which has not been substantially investigated before, and uncovers more varied reasons for imperial engagement, and differences in emphasis, than previously acknowledged. The struggle for elementary education has been seen as the dominant factor which led to a new confidence and political maturity amongst Catholics by the year 1900. This thesis shows how other decisions taken on a local level by Catholic hierarchies and laymen were also important. The thesis analyses the key role played by Bishop Vaughan of Salford and other clergy in the formation of the Manchester Geographical Society (MGS). The nature of the MGS is placed within the wider literature on geographical societies. The influence of religious figures on geographical societies and cultures of exploration in England, has been previously neglected. Vaughan's aims for involvement in the MGS were diverse, including the greater involvement of Catholics in civil society, a redefinition of the Catholic image, and a more closely defined role for Catholics in the British empire. The MGS emerges as a hybrid institution, of competing aims and values, rather than a commercial pressure group. The foundation by Bishop Vaughan of St. Bede's College in Manchester, for the Catholic middle class of the city, is then described. The technical and geographical education developed at the school, by Vaughan and Prefect of Studies Louis Charles Casartelli, was formulated to strengthen the commercial nature of the growing Catholic middle class, and in the longer term to aid both the assimilation of local Catholics into society, and to change the image of the faith to one which was engaged with aspects of the modern world and the wider empire. The museum at the school is also shown to have played a key role in redefining geography as a subject. Bishop Vaughan and Louis Charles Casartelli actively engaged with modern developments in Manchester, and aspects of contemporary society such as imperialism, exploration and commerce. No previous study has analysed St. Bede's College to any extent. This thesis uses the MGS Archive located at Greater Manchester County Record Office, many documents from which have never been analysed. Material is also used from the Church Lads' Brigade archive near Rotherham, and from St. Bede's College.

Youths and identity constructions on FacebookMüller, Ida January 2015 (has links)
Det framkommer också att Facebook påverkar ungdomars identitetsarbete / This study describes how young people communicate and present themselves on Facebook. The aim is to investigate the identities created on Facebook and on Facebook influence young people's identity work. I have been studying and observed a group of youths on Facebook aged 11-23. Based on the concept of identity I have, among other things, studied the group based on theories of how we all play theater and appearing in different roles and social interaction on Facebook. I have also taken note of research on youth culture and group identity and how it manipulates young people and communicate with different symbols. The results show the emergence of genres on Facebook where users appear in different identities. These are emerging in various ways and to different degrees, and have been compiled using various tools available on Facebook. It also emerges that this affects the youth's identity work

Previous issue date: 2011-03-16 / This dissertation is based on the worldwide evident withdrawal of the youths from the catholic churches. The new structures and the unquestionable realities of the post-modern world, mainly the multitechnological world, demand a review of their pastoral regarding the youths, forsaking archaic structures while searching for the new evangelical. First we need to know the world of the youths, their aspirations, dreams and difficulties to reach their goals in life. The youths are innately full of emotions, open-minded and long for comradeship. Here is where religions in general have the mission to make them discover the shining path of the soul. Based on experts who have studied this crisis and supported by researches carried out in a parish of the Dominican Republic as a sample, we propose a brotherly welcome and a subsequent follow-up programme for the youths as a possible solution for this impasse. The awareness of their constituting elements and the deep study of their aggregative psychology can help the youths to ponder upon their dignity as sons of God / Esta dissertação é inspirada na constatação do universal afastamento da juventude das igrejas católicas.

Generation Z : Den sökande generationen / Generation@ / NetgenerationSanhueza, Carolina, Falkevinge, Paula January 2014 (has links)
The reason that we have chosen to examine Generation Z is that we as a future career counselors will work with these young people.
Summaries in Afrikaans and English / This research has shown that young people of different cultural groups have had and still have limited contact due to the history of our country. This contributed to the fact that there were, and still are, very few opportunities to build relationships.
An introductory chapter in which the research methodology is explained, is followed by a discussion utilizing recent literature, of the question how the building of relationships can take place within the context of a diverse youth ministry (chapter 2).
It became clear that the church, in its ministry to diverse youth groups, should create opportunities where the quality of relationships can be enhanced. In the research it was found that experiential learning activities, such as initiative activities, could have a positive influence on interpersonal skills in intercultural relationships (chapters 3 and 4).
In chapter 5, firstly, certain conclusions were drawn. Secondly, recommendations were made and guidelines formulated regarding the building of relationships in the ministry to diverse youth groups.
plaasvind in 'n diverse jeugbedieningkonteks (hoofstuk 2).
In hoofstuk 5 is eerstens bepaalde gevolgtrekkings gemaak. Tweedens is aanbevelings
diverse jeuggroepe. / Social Work / M. Diac. (Youth Work)

Previous issue date: 2005-12-05 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This doctor s thesis has as its objective to know the socialization processes experienced by three youth groups, belongin to popular segments and formed by residents of the periphery of São Paulo: Coquetel Molotov, located in Itaquera, East Zone; Núcleo Cultural Força Ativa, in Cidade Tiradentes, East Zone; and Núcleo Cultural Poder e Revolução, in Jardim São Savério, Southeast Zone. The objective of the investigation is to analyze the main challenges, conflicts, struggles, initiatives and advances faced by these young people; what they learn and live in their families, schools, workplace, homes, and in their participation in youth groups; their interpersonal and group relationships in private and public spaces and the consequences of their personal and collective lives.
Methodologically, the research is developed with the utilization of questionnaires that configure the profile of participating youth and describe the path of each one of the three groups, and of focal groups and semi-structured interviews, which try to understand perceptions, concepts and experiences of class, gender and race/ethnic relations throughout their childhood, adolescence and youth. We investigated what it means to be young in the periphery, the conformation of the relationships among the youth and between the youth and the adults, the division of tasks and living space, the building and the living of subjectivities and gender and ethnic-racial relationships.
The conceptual references that base the analyses are from contemporary authors belonging to different areas of the social sciences, such as Education, Psychology, Social Services, for the theme of the youth, which currently has appeared with more strength, requires multidisciplinary attention to be better understood.
The results confirm the hypothesis that belonging to youth groups, with the sponsorships and the cultural, social and political propitiates a new meaning and the existence of new gender and ethnic-racial relationships, signaled by respect, equity, dialogue and altering, different from what was learned in their childhood and is still lived in the family, in the school and in the school, and in some instances of the society. They also point that the relationships with new meanings represent possibilities for these youth to transform themselves in socializing and multiplying agents, contributing to their own integration as citizens, as well the integration of other youth / A presente tese de doutorado tem por objeto conhecer os processos de socialização experimentados por três grupos juvenis, pertencentes a segmentos populares e formado por moradores da periferia de São Paulo: Coquetel Molotov, localizado em Itaquera, Zona Leste; Núcleo Cultural Força Ativa, em Cidade Tiradentes, Zona Leste; e Núcleo Cultural Poder e Revolução, no Jardim São Savério, Zona Sudeste.

ABSTRACT
This doctoral thesis in education analyzes the purposes and meanings of the social education
experience of young Afro-descendants who participate in public policies directed at the youth
of Brazil and Portugal. What are the purposes and meanings produced about the experience of
Social Education with young Afro-descendants based on public youth policies? This initial
question guided others: What conceptions of youth do social educators have that mediate socioeducational
practices with young people? What are the implications of discriminatory practices
for the lives of young Afro-descendants in Brazil and Portugal? What perspectives do young
Afro-descendants develop during their paths based on the social education experience?
Drawing on Social Pedagogy research, the thesis is divided into six sections on social education
and its relation with the youth and Afro-descents. Taking qualitative research as a reference,
the case study method was constructed through systematic observation of social projects in
Salvador and Lisbon and interviews with public policy makers, social educators, young people,
parents of young people, social movements and intellectuals. Black African culture emerges as
an action by the Afro-descendant youth and social education practices are debated amid the
vulnerabilities and stigmas denounced by young people. The community and the social
neighborhood appear as places of youth belonging and identity. As an inspiration for new
debates, we highlight the perspective of an intercultural education, the formation of educators
to work with and / or/with the youth and the valorization of heterogeneity and diversity in social
and educational practice that validates the ethnic/racial experience / RIZUMU

Cantar, contar, tocar...
No segundo capítulo, aborda
A partir dessas narrativas,
tutela, compreensão de papéis e funções e a aprendizagem no e a partir do grupo. O
jovens em contexto comunitário, a partir de reflexões e de práticas / A proposal for theological-musical training for youth groups based on the context of a
praise group. It verifies in what way this training takes place and how it can be
worked with intentionality. In the first chapter, the three constituting groupings of the
research paper are contextualized: the youth groups, contemporary sacred music
and Christian education in an Evangelical-Lutheran context. In the second chapter,
the different paradigms which sustained sacred music in the Evangelical Lutheran
context, the currents of modern sacred music and, based on the contemporary
context, the Gospel phenomenon are dealt with. The third chapter works with the life
narratives of six youth who participate in a praise and adoration group. Based on
these narratives, four categories arise for analysis: formation of ties, protagonism and
tutelage, comprehension of roles and functions and the learning in and based on the
group. The fourth chapter outlines a dialogue between the practice in the praise
group, the Plan for Continuing Christian Education of the Evangelical Church of
Lutheran Confession in Brazil and the social-interactionist theory proposed by
Vygotsky. The fifth chapter presents a proposal for theological-musical training which
can serve as a resource for the work with youth groups in the congregational context,
based on reflections and practices.
