Oj, är du redan klar? Du får vänta på dina klasskamrater : En systematisk litteraturstudie om hur läraren påverkar elever med fallenhet i matematik / Oh, are you already done? You will have to wait for your classmates : A systematic literature study about how the teacher affect gifted students in mathematics

Hermelin, Cornelia, Karlsson, Ebba January 2020 (has links)

Accelerating RSA Public Key Cryptography via Hardware Acceleration

Ramesh, Pavithra 10 April 2020 (has links)
A large number and a variety of sensors and actuators, also known as edge devices of the Internet of Things, belonging to various industries - health care monitoring, home automation, industrial automation, have become prevalent in today's world. These edge devices need to communicate data collected to the central system occasionally and often in burst mode which is then used for monitoring and control purposes. To ensure secure connections, Asymmetric or Public Key Cryptography (PKC) schemes are used in combination with Symmetric Cryptography schemes. RSA (Rivest - Shamir- Adleman) is one of the most prevalent public key cryptosystems, and has computationally intensive operations which might have a high latency when implemented in resource constrained environments. The objective of this thesis is to design an accelerator capable of increasing the speed of execution of the RSA algorithm in such resource constrained environments. The bottleneck of the algorithm is determined by analyzing the performance of the algorithm in various platforms - Intel Linux Machine, Raspberry Pi, Nios soft core processor. In designing the accelerator to speedup bottleneck function, we realize that the accelerator architecture will need to be changed according to the resources available to the accelerator. We use high level synthesis tools to explore the design space of the accelerator by taking into consideration system level aspects like the number of ports available to transfer inputs to the accelerator, the word size of the processor, etc. We also propose a new accelerator architecture for the bottleneck function and the algorithm it implements and compare the area and latency requirements of it with other designs obtained from design space exploration. The functionality of the design proposed is verified and prototyped in Zynq SoC of Xilinx Zedboard.

Johansson, Anne-Lie Marie January 2018 (has links)
Yoga exists in many different fields today and many new yoga studios open. My purpose has been to create a greater understanding due to why people choose to practice yoga. Throughout this text, I ask: what motives there are to practice yoga? What experiences does yoga give in relation to the rest of your life? Could there be any reasons in our Swedish western society to why people would like to practice yoga? Is yoga spirituality/religion? The method that has been used is a qualitative study with semi-structured interviews with six persons, three yoga teachers/instructors and three people participating in yoga classes. The result shows that the respondents practice yoga mostly to lower their everyday stress level, to get better contact with themselves and increased their life quality. The most central part of this study is the respondent's stories concerning today's stress epidemic in our western society which makes it hard to balance the life puzzle on different levels. I have foremost analyzed the climate in today's society with Hartmut Rosas theories about modernity, acceleration, identity, and alienation. My conclusion is according to Rosas (2014) theories that we have ended up in the autodynamic (technical, social, personal) acceleration that creates alienation (estrangement). We work hard with our to-do-lists that keep on getting longer and have less and less time to do what we actually want even though we have our western freedom. This results in a society where people feel lost in all parts of life and we forget what we value and who we want to be which results in stress and exhaustion. Rosa (2014) argues that the high acceleration in today's society makes people look for an intentional brake and yoga seems to be this for the respondents.

GPGPU-accelerated nonlinear state estimators : application to MPC-controlled bioreactor performance

Roos, Darren Craig January 2021 (has links)
Practical control problems are subject to dealing with instrumentation noise and inaccurate models. These can be modelled as measurement and state noise, respectively. Nonlinear state estimators, for example a particle filter, can be used to mitigate these effects. However, they are usually computationally expensive which makes them impractical for industrial use. This text investigates using General Purpose Graphics Processing Units (GPGPU) to improve the performance particle and Gaussian sum filters by parallelizing their prediction, update and resampling steps. GPGPU accelerated filters are found to outperform non-accelerated filters as the number of particle increases. GPGPU acceleration also allows particle filters with 2^19.5 particles to be used on systems with dynamic time constants on the order of 0.1 second and for Gaussian sum filters with 2^18.5 particles to be used with time constants on the order of 1 second. The filters are applied to a bioreactor system containing R. Oryzae, where MPC control is applied to the production phase fumaric acid and glucose concentrations. The bioreactor is modelled using results from Iplik (2017) and Swart (2019). It is found that the GPGPU filters improved run times allow for more particles to be used which provides increased filter accuracy and thus better performance. This improved performance comes at the cost of consuming more energy. Thus, it is believed that the GPGPU implementations should be used for applications with complex dynamics/noise that require large numbers of particles and/or high sampling rates. / Dissertation (MEng (Control Engineering))--University of Pretoria, 2021. / Chemical Engineering / MEng (Control Engineering) / Unrestricted

Hidgård, Daniel, Welander, Elin January 2021 (has links)

Akcelerace OVS s využitím akcelerační karty s FPGA / OVS Acceleration Using FPGA Acceleration Card

Vido, Matej January 2018 (has links)
The performance of the virtual switch Open vSwitch (OVS) is insufficient to satisfy the current requirements for link bandwidth of the server connections. There is an effort to accelerate the OVS both in the software and in the hardware by offloading the datapath to the smart network interface cards. In this work the COMBO card for 100G Ethernet developed by CESNET is used to accelerate the OVS. The suggested solution utilizes the firmware for FPGA generated from the definition in the P4 language to classify the packets in the card and DPDK for the data transfers and offloading the classification rules into the card. Forwarding of one flow with the shortest frames from physical to physical interface using one CPU core reaches forwarding rate of 11.2 Mp/s (10 times more than the standard OVS) with classification in the card and 5.9 Mp/s without classification in the card.

Analýza vlivu tlumení na velikost odezvy při dynamickém buzení světlometu / Analysis of the effect of damping on the magnitude of the response during dynamic headlamp excitation

Lukáš, Jan January 2020 (has links)
The aim of the submitted diploma thesis is the magnitude determination of the headlamp response to the dynamic excitation. Currently it is necessary to measure this response, because it is one of the assessed criteria of quality of the headlamp. When comparing results of the experimental measurement and the computational modelling, a good consensus of resonant frequencies is observed, but there are significant differences in acceleration amplitudes. The cause of this is the variable damping value. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with polymeric materials, basics of oscillation and damping. It serves to understand the mechanisms, which influence the results of the experimental measurement. The practical part is dedicated to the procedure of the computational modelling and the experimental measurement implementation. The analysis of the experimental measurement results leads to an ascertainment of nonlinearities, which influence the headlamp behaviour. The results of a sensitivity analysis of the computational modelling are used to create curves, on the basis of which the damping is estimated. The inclusion of the estimated damping into computational modelling leads to reduction of the compared differences of the acceleration amplitudes. The conclusion of the thesis contains the recommendation for the damping determination during the computational modelling of the headlamp.

Akcelerace ultrazvukové neurostimulace pomocí vysokoúrovňových GPGPU knihoven / Acceleration of Ultrasound Neurostimulation Using High-Level GPGPU Libraries

Mička, Richard January 2021 (has links)
This thesis explores potential use of GPGPU libraries to accelerate k-Wave toolkit's acoustic wave propagation simulation. Firstly, the thesis researches and assesses available high level GPGPU libraries. Afterwards, an insight into k-Wave toolkit's current state of simulation acceleration is provided. Based on that, an approach to enhance currently available code for processors into a heterogeneous application, that is capable of being run on graphics card, is proposed. The outcome of this thesis is an application that can utilize graphics card. If graphics card is unavailable, a fallback into thread and SIMD based acceleration for processor is executed. The product of this thesis is then evaluated based on its performance, maintenance difficulty and usability.
