Later, categories longevity and experience clustered in one, due their reference to similar themes. The articles from O Estado de S. Paulo, Valor Econômico e Revista Exame are intended to a high schooling and purchasing power public, while the other resorted vehicles (newscast, various information programs) direct to general public, some of whom, with low schooling levels. These articles provide maintenance or return to job market tips and inform how important it is to qualificate and update yourself. It was observed that media in this country is not following it s row on the Active Aging Policy agenda, because it does not inform population about their rights and duties, neither requires from society and the market, attitudes that make worth the definition of active , rescuing its dimension of optimizing opportunities / Esta pesquisa, qualitativa e documental, teve como principal objetivo identificar na mídia brasileira os discursos sobre o mercado de trabalho para as pessoas 60+, tomando por base recortes da imprensa escrita e digital, a fim de verificar o comprometimento do mercado com o paradigma proposto pela Organização Mundial da Saúde e que orienta a atual Política do Envelhecimento Ativo a qual propõe participação contínua nas questões socioeconômicas, culturais, espirituais e civis.

Envelhecer na contemporaneidade: subjetivações, modelos e resistências / Aging in contemporaneity: subjectifications, models and forms of resistance

No. of bitstreams: 1 Celina Dias Azevedo.pdf: 4854913 bytes, checksum: 295b55404a50beaf2c781d6a8a2b2c01 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2018-02-22 / We provide a series of texts with the objective of discussing how aging is presented in contemporaneity, its subjectifications, its models based on the precepts of active aging – which permeate a large part of the reflections on aging –, and its guiding documents, as well as possible forms of resistance. The guiding questions were: How can the fear of disease, of frailty, of dependence, of old age, of a non-standard body be produced, mobilized and transformed into an engine of obedience to prescripts for a good aging? How do the demands of neoliberalism back the creation of a market of educational and cultural projects targeted at old people and establish the figure of the old person who is the Entrepreneur of him/herself as the model to grow old? In what way does the reflection on old age, preferably grounded on biological aspects and on health, neglect other dimensions of life and incorporate and strengthen the idea that life must be guided by knowledge and specialists who dictate norms to longevity, based on viewing the biological body as the object of an action that does not need the participation of the person who receives such action? The answers might be in one’s care for oneself, in the perception of singularity, in experimentation, in the construction of small forms of resistance in daily life. Thus, permanent education, health, control by means of fear, and the neoliberal notion of the entrepreneur of oneself were the axes selected to interrogate and visualize what lies beyond what is proposed by documents that prescribe active aging as the formula for a good aging. References to fragments of movies and literary works pervade the entire text and help in the construction of the current reflection. The fragments talk to each other, take root, and connect with the text in a creative flow, opening themselves to other reading possibilities and forming a multiple and diverse look that cuts paths and points to other directions.

BEJČKOVÁ, Milada January 2012 (has links)
It is not just about achieving an advanced age, but also how will the life in this period look like. Even in this time it is possible to influence the quality of life to a certain extent by positive thinking and own activity. This thesis aims to ascertain an impact of active making music to a quality of life in an advanced age. It is focused on life style, life events, family life, social contacts and value system of seniors, which actively make music. The thesis is based on qualitative research, in which a narrative and semi-controlled interview was taken in natural environment of the respondents. All interviews were recorded on a voice recorder with consent of every respondent. Complete interviews are saved in mp3 files on an enclosed CD. Written transcriptions of the interviews are attached as a further annex of this thesis. These were kept in colloquial form of the language for the sake of authenticity, however, due to its length were shortened. During interviews an observation of an exterior, behavior and expression of respondent and his surroundings took place. Gathered data were evaluated by means of analysis of individual cases, comparison of these cases along with simple enumeration method. As emerged from the research, active making music influences positively the quality of life in advanced age. It prevents social isolation, creates and consolidates friendly relations and dilutes inter-generation differences. It supports will and persistence. It helps the seniors keeping their mental freshness. Music enriches emotional life and gives the life a further dimension.

Zdravé stárnutí v kontextu ošetřovatelské péče / Healthy aging in the context of nursing care

RADOVÁ, Ludmila January 2014 (has links)
Healthy Ageing Programme is a concept which should have a significant influence on every resident in the countries where population median age has been quickly increasing. This topic of healthy ageing is the key issue of the given Master´s Diploma Thesis. At the present, our country is involved not only in several smaller-scale regional programmes focused on lives of seniors but also in the events of European importance. If we want to provide our seniors with a quality life in all aspects, it is necessary to encourage promoting Healthy Ageing Programme. The wide scope of activity is thus open, especially for nurses. The first objective develops the approach of seniors in the selected health-care facilities to healthy ageing. The second objective introduces the approach of a client before retirement age to the healthy ageing principles. Finally, the third objective specifies the role of general practice nurses in their support of clients before retirement age in their healthy ageing. Research questions included the following issues: the approach of a client at the age before retirement to the healthy ageing principles and the role of a general practice nurse and her support of the abovementioned clients. The given research also develops one hypothesis regarding the fact that personal objectives will change depending on barriers. Both qualitative and quantitative research was used in the given Diploma Thesis. An in-depth interview was conducted during the survey. Additional information was obtained on the basis of an opinion poll. Two research groups were used for the interview: the first one consisted of 11 respondents from the general practitioner´s outpation departments, the second research group consisted of 6 nurses working for the aforementioned departments. The total number of 150 respondents from the designated health-care facilities was selected for the survey during which they were answering the research questions. As a result, a large number of useful information was obtained. The clients' approach can be divided into several groups: leisure activities, education, workload, prevention and medical examinations, regimen, community nursing care, healthy ageing. The key roles of a nurse should take into consideration the following aspects: healthy ageing from the nurse´s point of view, prevention and geriatric nurse at the outpatient department, community nursing care, health support of the patients provided by a nurse. Information obtained from the interviews were interconnected and often corresponded with each other. Research questions are also followed by the given results. A nurse has a significant role in the area of education, provision of necessary information to the clients, promotion of prevention programmes informing the clients about the solution to their problems. The motivation of clients before retirement age is also crucial because it is at this age when people can influence their life, its length and quality. The survey also observes the general perception of people of an old age and changes in their point of view with age. The information collected from this survey may be also used in different studies in order to improve both quality of nursing care and motivation of the clients before their retirement.

No. of bitstreams: 1 TeseCRpp.pdf: 3849521 bytes, checksum: 3d8a043d6e3436180b6e5cc6a1e316b5 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2016-10-31 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES) / Social participation, besides being considered one of main goals of rehabilitation, is defined by scientific literature and some specific public policies for the elderly as one of the pillars to active aging. Nevertheless, few studies have investigated the social participation of Brazilian elderly population and its predictors. The objective of this present study was to identify the predictors of variation of the social participation of independent elderly enrolled in Family Health Strategies units in the municipality of Araras/SP. Besides investigating the dimensions of LIFE-H 3.1- Brazil and its reliability; to characterize the profile of the elderly population; to identify associations between socio-demographic, health conditions, perception of intergenerational solidarity and quality of life and to compare levels of social participation amongst elderly subgroups. A total of 175 elderly, registered in 10 Family Health Strategies of all regions of the city have participated in the present study. All data have been collected through identification form, containing social-demographic variables, from health, familiar intergenerational solidarity aspects, among parents and children, perception of quality of life, besides the following standardized instruments: Geriatric Depression Scale, Katz Scale, Mini Mental State Examination, and LIFE-H 3.1-Brasil which evaluates social participation. Data analysis has been descriptive, comparative, correlational e multivariate performed on SPSS v23.0. The evaluation of predictors of social participation was conducted by Linear Regression Analysis, taking into account the dimension of LIFE-H 3.1 previously extracted from Factor Analysis, namely: Personal Care, Community, Recreation and Communication, apart from global evaluation of social participation which involved these four dimensions (LIFE-H Total). The factorial analysis and the internal consistency of the dimensions of LIFE-H 3.1-Brazil confirm the reliability of data and utilization of such instrument in independent elderly. The association among the variables contributed to identify the factors related to health and disease condition of such population, strengthening the influence of contextual factors in this life period. Main results revealed average variations of social participation due to different variables, with special highlight on marital status, schooling, city district where he/she lives, familiar intergenerational solidarity, comorbidities, presence if depressive symptomatology, cognitive ability, physical activities practicing and subjective perception of quality of living, which were confirmed in the correlation study. The variables which acted as predictors of global social participation (LIFE-H Total) were living in specific city districts, physical activities practicing number of diseases, cognitive ability, age, depressive symptomatology, subjective evaluation of quality of life and widowhood, in that order. The variables city district, physical activity practicing, cognitive ability and subjective evaluation of quality of living acted positively, whilst other variables acted negatively in the social participation variation. This study reveals the complexity and multidimensionality of elderly social participation and the influence of personal and environmental determining factors which, mostly, could be modifiable. It is argued that maximization of actions e programs destined mainly to elderly preventive health care along with investments in infrastructure, safety and implementation of services may be of great value to the feasibility of greater social participation of such population. The continuity of these studies is desirable for deeper theoretical and empirical understanding such theme, overall the qualiquantitative and longitudinal nature to the seizure of changes, tendencies and predictors of elderly social participation in different degrees of functionality and health condition.

Indicadores comportamentais do envelhecimento ativo para residentes em instituições de longa permanência para idosos / Behavioral indicators of active aging for residents in long-term care for the elderly

Medeiros, Paulo Adão de 11 July 2014 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-12-06T17:07:01Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 PAULO ADAO DE MEDEIROS - DISSERTACAO PARTES AUTORIZADAS.pdf: 1650541 bytes, checksum: 33403e226caa6bf5ff2073abf7dd2a66 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2014-07-11 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / There is a lack of studies, and mainly of assessment tools, that seek to approximate the active aging policy to the context of institutions for the long term care of the elderly (ILPIs). Given this, this exploratory research focused on the behavioral determinants of active aging aiming to analyze behavioral indicators for the evaluation of active aging in institutionalized elderly, according to the scientific evidence and experts perceptions. An extensive literature review on various literature sources was performed, including systematic reviews on the quality of life and instruments for evaluation of the institutionalized elderly. These literature reviews associated with researcher professional experience served as the basis for developing indicators that were organized in a semi-structured questionnaire which was sent for analysis to 17 experts in the field of Gerontology. A thematic content analysis was performed to analyze, understand and interpret the qualitative material resulting from the open questions of the questionnaire. The relevance of the indicators from the questionnaire was analyzed using a Content Validity Index (CVI). It was observed that there was no consensus among experts about this new construct. However some points became more evident, especially regarding inclusion, socialization, independence, stimulation and protection. Strategies to promote active aging are different in these institutions. Twenty six behavioral indicators for the environment of ILPIs were described: perform independently most of daily activities, consume adequate food with nutritional support, have self-care attitudes, choose own clothes to dress, adhere to healthy behaviors recommended by ILPIs professionals, feel protected and safe, participate in the community, keep their privacy in inspite of living in a collective environment, stabilish love and/or sexual relationships at the institution, in the case of feeling it is necessary, keep family contact inside and outside the institution, take care of their own room and objects, keep informed and interested about events which happen outside of the institution, communicate their opinion, establish friendships and affective relationships at the institution, administrate at least part of their own money, demonstrate interest to help other residents of the institution, have autonomy about controlling their time and routine, practice physical activities proposed by ILPIs, have appetite and interest for prepared and served food, brush the teeth or dental prosthesis daily, know about and have some control over their own health state and medication, amount of medication, perform leisure activities, read or be involved in educational activities, do voluntary tasks related to maintenance and organization of the ILPI. These indicators are related to the three pillars of active aging and can be used as a tool for health promotion. This study suggests new researches through focus groups with experts to enrich and improve the debate on this topic. There is a need for changes in the structure of ILPIs in such a way that active aging becomes feasible and effective for the institutionalized elderly.
