Six proofs that there are in nitely many primes using reductio ad absurdum, Fermat numbers, Mersenne numbers, Elementary Calculus and Topology are discussed. / Este trabalho apresenta um estudo sobre os números primos, como estão distribu ídos, quantos números primos existem entre 1 e um número real x qualquer, fórmulas que geram primos, além de uma generalização para o Postulado de Bertrand. São abordadas seis demonstrações que mostram que existem in nitos números primos usando redução ao absurdo, Números de Fermat, Números de Mersenne, Cálculo Elementar e Topologia.

En philosophie analytique du langage, les travaux de Russell sont reconnus comme solution au problème de la dénotation. Cet auteur a fourni un modèle d’explication unique, la théorie des descriptions, pour rendre compte des phrases contenant une description définie. Son analyse a comme conséquence d’éliminer toute possibilité pour une expression descriptive de faire référence à un objet. Elle permet de résoudre plusieurs problèmes logiques et de critiquer d’autres modèles d’explication. En réaction à l’analyse russellienne, des auteurs comme Strawson ou Donnellan ont fait valoir une utilisation possible des descriptions pour identifier ou faire référence à une entité. Cette conception du problème de l’usage référentiel contribue à soutenir la thèse d’une ambiguïté sémantique dans l’interprétation des descriptions. Le développement du mémoire expose les différents points de vue et tranche en faveur de l’interprétation russellienne, à la lumière des développements de la pragmatique. Cette solution a l’avantage de situer et de résoudre le problème dans le cadre général d’une théorie de la communication.

A presente pesquisa partiu do desejo de se investigar as possibilidades terapêuticas do tratamento psicanalítico. A partir do estudo da obra Entre o sonho e a dor, do psicanalista J.-B. Pontalis, este campo inicial por demais abrangente pôde ser delimitado, e a questão do trabalho de pesquisa circunscrita. Optou-se por centralizar o estudo no processo de constituição daquilo que o autor chama de espaço psíquico uma metáfora que indica a realidade psíquica, ou, em outras palavras, a própria subjetividade, desde que viva. Esta noção do vivo é fundamental porque, diante de uma situação clínica em que o analista (Pontalis, no caso) experimentava a morte do espaço psíquico do paciente, colocava-se precisamente a necessidade de constituir ou recuperar esse espaço psíquico amortecido: que o sujeito pudesse nascer para si mesmo. O tratamento psicanalítico, então, para Pontalis, teria, entre outras, essa possibilidade terapêutica: favorecer a constituição (ou reinstalação) do espaço psíquico. Compreender analiticamente esse processo constitutivo, mediante o esclarecimento de suas bases metapsicológicas, é o objetivo deste trabalho. Para tanto, foram utilizados basicamente três conjuntos de referenciais teóricos: 1) alguns trabalhos do próprio Pontalis que constam da obra supracitada; 2) as posições esquizoparanoide e depressiva, do arsenal teórico kleiniano e, por fim, 3) as matrizes da intersubjetividade (Coelho Jr. e Figueiredo, 2004) e a metapsicologia do cuidado (Figueiredo, 2009). Esses fundamentos metapsicológicos estão apresentados, a título de organização, em dois eixos: no primeiro, os fundamentos relativos à dimensão intersubjetiva na constituição do espaço psíquico a que se atribuiu o nome de trabalho de transmissão, e cujo foco, nesta pesquisa, está nas funções exercidas pelos objetos primários. No segundo eixo, situam-se os fundamentos relativos à dimensão intrapsíquica da subjetividade, entre os quais, a partir de Melanie Klein e Luis Claudio Figueiredo, se destaca o trabalho do luto. Enfatizou-se e justificou-se que as dimensões intersubjetiva e intrapsíquica são interdependentes, não se opõem como experiências nem como conceitos antagônicos, de modo que o pareamento nos dois eixos foi tão-somente um recurso para organizar a estrutura da dissertação. Nas Considerações Finais, a hipótese da constituição do espaço psíquico como uma possibilidade terapêutica do tratamento psicanalítico é retomada, e acrescida de algumas considerações que a articulam à metapsicologia do cuidado. Em linhas gerais, sustenta-se que a instalação do espaço psíquico ou da metáfora materna (Pontalis) representa justamente a constituição de uma matriz de cuidado, isto é, da capacidade de cuidar de si e dos outros. Starting with the study of Between the dream and psychic pain, by psychoanalyst J.-B. Pontalis, this initial and extraordinarily broad field could be limited, and the research question could be circumscribed. We chose to center the study in the process of constitution of what the author calls psychic space a metaphor that designates psychic reality or, in other words, subjectivity itself, as long as it is alive. This notion of aliveness is essential because, facing a clinical situation in which the analyst (Pontalis, in this case) experienced the death of the patients psychic space, there arose precisely the need to constitute or recover this deadened psychic space: that the subject could be born to him/herself. According to Pontalis, the psychoanalytic treatment would thus have this therapeutic possibility among others: to favor the constitution (or reinstallation) of the psychic space. The objective of the present work is to analytically understand this constitutive process, by means of the clarification of its metapsychological bases. Three groups of theoretical frameworks have been used to achieve said objective: 1) some papers by Pontalis, pertaining to the aforementioned work; 2) the paranoid-schizoid and depressive positions, from the Kleinian theoretical framework, and finally 3) the patterns of subjectivity (Coelho Jr. & Figueiredo, 2004) and the metapsychology of caring (Figueiredo, 2009). These metapsychological foundations are presented, for didactical purposes, in two axes: firstly, those foundations related to the intersubjective dimension of the constitution of the psychic space which have been termed work of transmission, and whose aim, in the present research, is on the functions exerted by the primary objects. Secondly, the foundations related to the intrapsychic dimension of subjectivity, among which, according to Melanie Klein and Luis Claudio Figueiredo, the work of mourning is emphasized. It has been emphasized and justified that the intersubjective and intrapsychic dimensions are interdependent, i.e. they are not opposed to each other as experiences nor as antagonistic concepts, so that the pairing of both axes is a mere resource to organize the thesis structure. On the Concluding Remarks, the hypothesis of the constitution of the psychic space as a therapeutic possibility of the psychoanalytic treatment is readdressed, added by some considerations that connect it to the metapsychology of caring. In general terms, it is argued that the installation of the psychic space or the maternal metaphor (Pontalis) refers precisely to the constitution of a pattern of caring, i.e. the ability to take care of oneself and of others. For that reason the method of computer simulation, using system dynamics, was adopted. In approximately ten years, we witness an intense development of the internet agencies industry in Brazil, with the increase of use of interactive devices and the consolidation of this new economic sector. The main service provided by this industry bacame strategic for all the other industries, reason why this study is so important. This paper uses computer simulation, in particular system dynamics, for two reasons. The first reason is the lack of trustworthy information available about the sector, and the second is that an econometric approach would not be able to deal with a complex situation, such as, the behavior of market share variations in different strategic groups of the same industry. The system dynamics technique revealed itself extremely useful, especially due to the volume of data interrelated. Moreover, the adoption of this technique allowed to identify non-trivial patterns, especially the ones related to the analyses on changes in the degree of differentiation between the different strategical groups. The paper is divided in five briefly described sections. The first section, "Introduction", presents the subject and the characteristics that affect the performance of the firms in the industry. The following topic, "System Dynamics", describes the technique created by J. W. Forrester, used in this work, as well as the reasons for its choice as method for the development of the simulations. The third section, "Description of the Industry", describes the sector using the approach created by F. M. Scherer - structure-conduct-performance (SCP). The fourth section "Simulations", describes the models created in the paper, as well as the main results. Finally, the fifth section, "Conclusions", comments the most important results developed. / Esta dissertação tem por objetivo analisar a participação de mercado dos diferentes grupos estratégicos que compõem o setor de agências de internet no Brasil, bem como as mudanças decorrentes de alterações nas variáveis críticas de concorrência, tais como preço, investimento em propaganda, investimento em tecnologia e disponibilidade de mão-de-obra. Para tanto, será aplicado o método de simulação computacional, utilizando-se dinâmica de sistemas. Em aproximadamente dez anos, houve um intenso desenvolvimento do setor de agências de internet no Brasil, com o amadurecimento deste novo setor econômico e a ampliação dos dispositivos interativos empregados. A atividade prestada por esse setor ganhou papel fundamental para as estratégias de todos os demais setores econômicos, razão pela qual o seu estudo é de grande relevância. Nesse estudo, foi empregada uma abordagem de simulação computacional, em particular dinâmica de sistemas, por dois motivos. Por um lado, existem poucas informações disponíveis e confiáveis sobre o setor, pois trata-se de um ramo novo e ainda em processo de consolidação. Essa escassez de dados e ausência de informações secundárias impossibilitam a adoção de análises quantitativas por meio de técnicas econométricas. Por outro, a simulação matemática por um modelo estruturalmente fechado não seria adequada para tratar situações complexas, como, nesse caso, a análise do comportamento de diferentes grupos estratégicos de uma mesma indústria. A simulação por dinâmica de sistemas permite maior flexibilidade para acomodar diferentes cenários e estruturas de indústria, sendo, portanto, mais adequada para o propósito desta dissertação. A técnica de dinâmica de sistemas adotada se revelou útil, especialmente em razão do volume de dados inter-relacionados ao longo do trabalho, e das efetivas influências recíprocas percebidas entre as variáveis. Além disso, a adoção desta técnica permitiu identificar padrões contra-intuitivos, o que se revelou acertado, principalmente no que concerne às análises sobre mudanças no grau de diferenciação entre os diferentes grupos estratégicos analisados. O trabalho divide-se em cinco seções brevemente descritas a seguir. A primeira seção, “Introdução”, apresenta o tema e as características que afetam o desempenho das firmas do setor. O tópico seguinte, “Dinâmica de sistemas”, descreve a técnica criada por J. W. Forrester, empregada neste trabalho, bem como as razões para sua escolha como método para o desenvolvimento das simulações. A terceira seção, “Descrição da indústria”, retrata o setor em questão através da abordagem estrutura-conduta-desempenho (ECD) criada por F. M. Scherer. A seguir, em “Desenvolvimento das simulações”, são detalhados os modelos desenvolvidos e o resultado das principais simulações, analisados sucintamente. Por fim, a quinta seção, “Conclusões”, trata dos resultados mais relevantes desta dissertação.

In mainstream literary histories, Aloysius Bertrand (1807-1841) is still remembered as the canonical inventor of the prose poem in France. The established classification of Gaspard de la Nuit (1842) within the realm of the prose poem inevitably involves a retrospective appreciation of Bertrand’s work in light of the better-known authors that succeeded him in the history of this genre, such as Baudelaire and Mallarmé. The result is that Bertrand is often viewed as the inventor and/or the precursor of this genre; an important but, ultimately, minor contributor to its development. This hindsight brings with it a risk of critical anachronism against which Bertrand's contribution is often downplayed, especially because his thematic choices are seen to be outmoded, when compared to works by poets writing decades later. This thesis is a re-examination of Bertrand's Gaspard de la Nuit, incorporating an analysis of the cultural context that contributed to its production. The central argument is that in order to fairly assess Bertrand’s work, it is crucial to consider the poet’s contribution to, as well as his position in, the wider cultural exchange typical of his time. Using this contextual and historical approach, this thesis examines and challenges some of the main traditional considerations of Bertrand, such as his being a petit romantique, his provincialism, his unoriginality, and his role as the precursor and/or inventor of the prose poem. The overall aim is to assess fairly Bertrand’s unique synthesis of contemporary cultural and literary material with his own original work. By emphasising the crucial role of cultural exchange at the time of Gaspard de la Nuit’s production, we are thus able to begin to understand Bertrand in his own terms, rather than those of his successors, ourselves included, challenging commonly-held views and opening up new avenues for research.

液晶面板是跨世紀的新發明，這個產業更是百年產業，隨著技術的演進與產業的更替，這個產業最重要且關鍵殺手級的應用－平面電視機，終於在近些年逐漸引爆且蓬勃發展。本研究應用經濟學寡佔模型中的部分理論，分別就大尺寸電視液晶面板產業的競爭與合作關係依價格與產能兩大關鍵因素進行探討，並運用相關賽局理論探討各競爭廠商的策略思維，以期能對未來產業的競爭或相關類似產業架構的產業提供些許建議。 / The industry of TFT-LCD draws much attention for decades because of the world class business opportunities. The most important killer application, FPD（Flat-Panel Display）,starts booming these recent years. This study tries to apply some economy theories such as Oligopoly, Cournot Model and Bertrand Model to analyze the competition between prices and quantities. And we also analyzed the interaction of competition from the view of Game Theory and so on.
