Min studie behandlar och diskuterar begreppet modeaktivism, hur mode kan fungera som ett kommunikativt medium i en aktivistisk eller politisk handling. Mitt syfte är att undersöka hur det kan se ut när mode används som uttryck för aktivism eller politisk kommunikation med fokus på Sverige, och kan mode betraktas som ett medium för att kommunicera aktivism? Eftersom modeaktivism är kommunikativt är det också intressant att se vad medialiseringen har haft för inverkan på modeaktivisters beslut. Jag har genomfört kvalitativa forskningsintervjuer med tre modeaktivister som är verksamma inom olika områden i modefältet. Jag har också gjort en semiotisk bildanalys av sex olika bilder, för att få fram tecken på modeaktivism. Jag har i min analys utgått från både min forskningsöversikt och mina valda teorier där jag undersökt medialiseringsteorins inverkan, Bourdieus teori om fält och habitus, Simmels tankar om mode som medium och Barthes semiotiska teori och metod om hur myter och tecken kan påverka representationen. Den huvudsakliga slutsatsen är att mode kan fungera som ett medium för politiska budskap och att svensk modeaktivism främst handlar om att bryta strukturer och förändra normer. / My study deals with, defines and discusses the concept of fashion activism, how fashion can serve as a communicative medium in an activist or political act. My purpose is toinvestigate what it looks like when fashion is used as an activist expression or as politicalcommunication with focus on Sweden. Furthermore, can fashion be considered as amedium to communicate activism? Since fashion activism is communicative is it alsointeresting to examine how the medialization has influenced the decisions of fashionactivists. I have conducted qualitative research interviews with three fashion activists whoare active in various areas of the fashion field. Additionally, I have performed a semioticanalysis of six different images, to obtain signs of fashion activism. My analysis is based oninformation from my literature review as well as my chosen theories where i analyzed theimpact of the medialization theory, Bourdieu's theory regarding field and habitus, Simmel'sthoughts on fashion as a medium and Barthes semiotic theory and method regarding howmyths and signs can affect the representation.The main conclusion is that fashion can act as a medium for political messages and swedish fashion activism deals mainly with breaking structures and changing of norms.

This essay examines class and gender in the movie Shrek from 2001. To examine class and gender, representations are of main interest. For the analysis Stuart Hall’s theories of representations and stereotypes, as well as Beverley Skeggs theory of respectability, have mainly been used. The movie is perceived as a text, which means that the scenes consist of different signs. More specifically, they contain the signifier and the signified. The method for the analysis is based on the signifier and the signified, that have been used for the research purpose which is to examine representations of class and gender. The analysis revealed that there is a division of classes in the movie, portrayed by the fairytale-proletariat, consisting of the non-human fairytale characters, and the upper class, consisting of the human fairytale characters. The analysis additionally revealed that the character princess Fiona contradicts her respectability with her body shape and by being grotesque, as well as gender stereotypes which reduced some of the female characters to their looks. Lastly, the movie contains intertextuality which was discussed in the analysis along with the scenes.

Föreliggande uppsats är en analys av Maggie Nelsons Bluets (2009), med fokus på begär. Texten beskriver en kvinna som är förälskad i färgen blått. Den innehåller även minnen från en relation som berättarjaget haft. Syftet med uppsatsen är att visa på textens olika uttryck för begär och tolka dessa för att kunna fördjupa läsningen av texten. Jag kommer att undersöka vilka begär som gestaltas och vilka funktioner dessa har, samt på vilka sätt som begären i Bluets ger möjlighet till en feministisk förståelse av begärsbegreppet. Begärsteman är vida undersökt i litteraturen. Många gånger har psykoanalytiska teorier använts för analys, inte minst Lacan och konceptualiseringen av begär som en brist. I denna uppsats används dels Lacans teori och dels en vidareutveckling av te orin som gjorts av Deleuze och Guattari, där begär inte beskrivs som konstituerat av en brist, utan som ett flöde. Studien visar att på tre huvudsakliga begärsteman i Bluets: begäret efter det förlorade kärleksobjektet, begäret efter det kroppsliga/sexuella och begäret efter färgen blå. Dessa analyseras utifrån aspekterna det betecknande och det betecknade, dikotomin man-kvinna, det blåa begärets funktion samt romanens form. Studien visar på att det är möjligt att göra en lacansk läsning av boken, som en illustration av sorgen orsakad av det förlorade kärleksobjektet och det blåa som en symbol för denna sorg. Men analysen öppnar också upp för en annan förståelse av begär: begäret som en maskin, som ger upphov till ett mer mångfaldigt kvinnligt subjekt, som står i förbindelse med en rad andra personliga och opersonliga maskiner. Ett begär som genererar kreativitet och produktion utanför subjektets fantasier.
