An evaluation of two interventions on the phonetic repertoire of children with multiple disabilitiesClements, Hannah January 2009 (has links)
Children who have multiple disabilities often have complex communicational needs (Crickmay 1966; Orelove & Sobsey, 1996; Van Riper & Erickson, 1996; Workinger 2005). To augment or supplement these children’s communication skills some form of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) may be provided (Beukleman & Mirenda, 2005; Downing, 1996; Orelove & Sobsey, 1996; Stephenson & Dowrick, 2005). However it has been found that parents fear AAC will prevent focus on verbal output which is the preferred way of communication (Allaire et al 1991; Beukelman & Mirenda, 2005; Schlosser, 2003; Stephenson & Dowrick, 2005). This study investigated the impact of a combined therapy approach on the phonetic repertoire of children with multiple disabilities. In addition, changes in communication intent were also explored. Each child received intervention across four, 20-30 minute sessions per week for six weeks. Results show that all of the children made improvements, however not all changes were significant. Clinical implications of the study include the notion that working on traditional therapy techniques can improve the speech and language of children who have multiple disabilities and there is a need to look further at traditional therapies and incorporate AAC into these

Matematikos pamokos organizavimas naudojant informacines komunikacines technologijas / Organizing mathematics lesson using informational communicational technologiesKareivaitė, Laima 12 June 2006 (has links)
Computer technologies progressively penetrate into educational system, influence its management and teaching process. Pupils have possibilities to use computers at home and at school. Teachers use them in the teaching process. While IT weren’t used in the teaching process lessons were dry and boring. Though, these days the rapid expansions of the computer network opens wide possibilities for teachers to choose reaching softwear and new teaching methods which helps pupils to develop awareness of the subject, creative thinking and motivates them.
The purpose of the research is to ascertain informational technologies know and used in mathematics lessons, their strengths, weaknesses and use opportunities in the lessons.
Tasks of the research: to analyse pedagogical, methodological literature concerning IT; to reveal strengths and weaknesses of IT use; to induct teachers’ activity using IT in the teaching process; to detect the efficiency of the IT use in the teaching process.
The methodology of the research: pedagogical, methodological literature, questionnaire and its results analysis, comperative analysis, data analysis.
The questionnaires were given to basic secondary schools’ and gymnasiums’ teachers in 14 regions.
Inferences: Mathematics teachers know many teaching softwear programs in Lithuanian. There are good conditions to use teaching softwear programs at schools. Teachers use computers for work and teaching purposes. Mathematics teachers agree that IT helps to... [to full text]

Previous issue date: 2014-10-30 / CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This thesis presents an interdisciplinary interpretation of the concept of Communicational
Ecosystem taking the Amazon as an explanatory metaphor for what triggers theoretical
frameworks that converge to a complex and new paradigmatic approach to knowledge
production and dialogical postures in dealing with the relations between the local and the
universal. The argumentation comes from a recovery of the concept of Communicational
Ecosystem institutionalized in the Brazilian academic research and it is appropriated in the
communicational field in the Amazon under proper interpretation keys. From this, the
proposal by which the concept refers to the multiplicities that traverse the human being, the
nature and the technical means of communication and information that completely comprise
the Communicational Ecosystem are organized in this thesis. This thesis is about an
ecosystem approach that considers corporeality of relations and subjectivities driven in
society, taking them as inseparable instances amplified by technologies that extend human
innervations beyond the corporeal boundaries. At this point, the experiences of Amerindian
populations, especially indigenous peoples of Amazonia and traditional communities of the
region, which have different relation with the environment, comparing with westerner
communities, are the point of contact between the concept and the everyday common
practices: the Amazon, being a region of the planet where it is clearly perceived the recursive
relationships between humans, nature, and - by the increasing presence - information and
communication technologies, it becomes explanatory metaphor of the Communicational
Ecossistema Comunicacional.

Significant Attributes and Challenges Related to Cross-Functional Team CommunicationsAli, Majid January 2016 (has links)
Purpose The purpose of the research work is to investigate the importance of the communication in the cross-functional teams and in what which communicational tools provide better convenience of communication in cross-functional team members. Methodology An empirical study including the data collection from the interviews conducted from the participants working in cross-functional teams. Qualitative approach has been adopted to understand the communicational attributes in the cross-functional teams. For the analysis both deductive and abductive approach has been used. With the help of theoretical framework and empirical data, conclusions drown for better understanding of the concept. Findings The author has divided the search in two main segments, communicational effects on cross-functional team performance and effectiveness of particular communicational tools used by team members and team leaders. Empirical findings shows that without proper communication, cross-functional team are less tend to perform well to achieve set goals as well as face to face communications are more effective than other communicational tools. Research limitations The research work is limited to Scandinavian countries. Organizational communicational structures are not studied due to time factor. Other limitation of this research work is effect of cultural differences on communication. Implications The research work provides deep understanding of the different communicational effects on cross-functional team performance. The choice of communicational tool and proportional importance for the team members will help managers while selecting the tools of communication with the team members. Originality / value During the literature studies, author determined that there is potential of research for the communicational tools used in cross-functional team communications. The social media is taking over the traditional communicational tools which provide value for findings. / Thesis

Alytaus sporto ir rekreacijos centro darbuotojų lyderystės ir komunikacinės elgsenos ypatumai / Features of leadership and communication behavior of the employees of Alytus Sports and Recreation CentreUšackaitė, Edita 05 June 2010 (has links)
In the period of constant change possibility to possess information and ability to generate knowledge becomes a competitive advantage. Rapid technological organizational change in the world, market globalization, financial and social crisis coming one after another indicates a transition into a new level of social organization, the driving force for which will be knowledge, but not capital. While the system is developing and becoming more complex and the processes grow faster, the shape and content of the system changes rapidly. People possessing the latest knowledge and knowing how to use it are very important for the system of rapid change. In organization such role goes to the leader. Modern management is often based on all-embracing leadership concepts, highlighting not only individual but also corporate importance. The specificity of leadership is exceptional because of the fact that a person or a group of people determining actions and efforts of other people diverges while implementing common goal. Thus leadership and communication becomes very important elements of effective organization (R. Korsakienė, 2006).

Previous issue date: 2016-12-16 / CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This thesis proposes a relational reading, through an Communicational Ecosystem circuit
between Communication, Art, Audiovisual and Amazon. Search a reflexive
understanding to analyze and interpret aspects of the representation of the region, with
emphasis on the work of visual artist Otoni Mesquita. The theoretical and methodological
approach is based on the based on the Theory of Complexity and Systemic Paradigm,
recognizing the dynamism and interdependence of events physical, biological, social,
cultural and technological. Interrelates art languages and creative processes with
historical, anthropological, sociological and environmental, with a differentiated
approach to the Amazon representation. Seeks to expand the prospects of research in
Communication and contribute to the construction of critical thinking in line with new
scientific paradigms. In addition to the literature they were performed virtual studies,
based on netnography and semiotic contributions to reading and analyzing languages,
aesthetic and artistic performances (especially audiovisual). Research suggests that
semiosis creative and communicative passing Otoni Mesquita, is configured as a network
dynamic, articulated by multiplicities, memories and transformations, questioning
hegemonic models built in the historical process, denouncing the falsity of the dominant
representations and their stereotyped speeches. In continuous and cyclic flow of artistic
experimentations creator presents different perspectives for the representation of the
Amazon.
A perspectiva teóricometodológica
segue preceitos do Pensamento Complexo e Sistêmico, reconhecendo o
memórias e transformações: as ramagens otonianas. Um fluxo contínuo e cíclico, pelo
qual ressoam experimentações criativas, críticas sociais e reelaborações sígnicas,
instigando novas percepções sobre a imagética relacionada à região amazônica,
questionando modelos hegemônicos construídos pelo imaginário colonizado no processo
outros discursos e outras verdades.

O acontecimento comunicacional e a experiência de ensino. Afeto. Arrebatamento. Subjetividades / The communicational event and the teaching experience. Affection. Ravishment. SubjectivitiesTeixeira, Ana Paula de Moraes 27 May 2013 (has links)
Porém, a tessitura desta proposta é trama emaranhada. / This is an epistemological study on the communication concept, which makes use of philosophical orientations as a technical contribution. However, the fabric of this proposal is a tangled web. It is a tissue which dampens itself in the liquid of subjectivity. In conventional studies on communication, the being\'s ontological status has never had much space. One would prefer to study the \"carvings\" in communication, such as reception, mediation, processes, or media. This is the starting point of our work: engaging a communication research which \"happens\" in the being self - the communicational event. And as the notion of event developed on this thesis differs from the conception as it is understood by common sense or even by the media, this kind of study requires a different work procedure. This procedure is the Metaporo: a practical-descriptive proposal which demands a modified scientific attitude, as it takes into account affectations on the being (of the event), and, in this study, along with affectations of the being (of the research). Therefore, the researcher\'s look counts. Not in a way to subtract from the observation what is interesting, but to compose with it. But, as it is necessary to take into account the incomprehensive aspect of the event, the Metaporo wagers on its description. \"To experience something within its own body and from it extract descriptions, reports, expositions, texts, to transform what has been experienced into statements, into life experience testimonies\". And as the ground of our observation lies on teaching experiences, and because teaching experience is the being\'s resilience, our proposal, in addition to the epistemological discussion, includes autobiographical reports. Narratives that may enable a contiguity of fruition. An elastic web tissue whose first intention is to allow access to the thinking vibrations by the porosity of the text.
