Cross-platform development : A performance comparison between React Native and Cordova

Leffler, Gustav January 2020 (has links)

THE EVANGELISTIC EMPHASIS IN THE PASTORAL PREACHING OF ADRIAN P. ROGERS

Yelton, Johnny Derrick 31 December 2013 (has links)
Johnny Derrick Yelton, Ph.D. The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, 2013 Chairman: Dr. J. D. Payne This dissertation examines the evangelistic content of the pastoral preaching of Adrian P. Rogers during his thirty-two years of ministry at Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee. Chapter 1 introduces the thesis and explains the purpose, goals, limitations and methodology of this study. Chapter 2 examines the significant events and people in the life of Rogers that influenced and shaped his passion for evangelistic preaching. This chapter provides a brief biography of Rogers that discusses his conversion and call to the ministry, his education in college and seminary, his pastoral ministry, his broadcast ministry, and his denominational leadership. It also identifies the characteristics demonstrated by Rogers that contributed to his effective evangelistic preaching ministry. Chapter 3 examines the sermon preparation, organization, and delivery skills of Rogers. The objective of this chapter is to identify the homiletical style of Rogers' sermons with a focus upon his expository methodology. This chapter provides a study of the functional elements of Rogers' sermons, and identifies nine characteristics of evangelistic preaching reflected in Rogers' preaching. Finally this chapter considers the hermeneutical integrity of the sermons of Rogers in order to determine if he forced an evangelistic meaning into a text and thereby twisted the intent of the original author of the text. Chapter 4 examines the evangelistic invitation of Rogers. This chapter provides a brief background regarding the origin of the evangelistic invitation and the criticism of some evangelicals regarding its historical and modern usage. The focus of this chapter, however, is upon the methodology of Rogers. This chapter addresses any problems and concerns regarding the evangelistic invitations of Rogers and it identifies the components and characteristics of Rogers' evangelistic invitation. Chapter 5 is a study of the evangelistic content of Rogers' sermons. The goal of this chapter is to determine how often Rogers actually preached an evangelistic sermon from the pulpit of Bellevue Baptist Church. This chapter begins with a definition of evangelistic preaching, and provides a methodology for measuring the evangelistic content of Rogers' sermons based upon this definition. Next, this chapter offers an evaluation of the evangelistic content discovered in the sermons of Rogers, and gives a critical analysis of the evangelistic preaching ministry of Rogers based upon these findings. Finally, this chapter provides recommendations for an effective evangelistic preaching ministry. Chapter 6 gives a conclusion to this study. This chapter addresses the importance of evangelistic preaching in the church. Furthermore, it introduces the discoveries made from this study and gives a summary of those discoveries. It also outlines an application of the strengths of Rogers' evangelistic preaching ministry. Finally, it identifies areas for further study in the future. This dissertation also contains two appendices. The first appendix includes significant material regarding one hundred sermons by Rogers including an outline of each sermon and an assessment of the evangelistic content of each sermon. The second appendix provides an example of a gospel presentation and sinner's prayer used in the publication materials of Love Worth Finding Ministries.

Utvärdering av ramverket JQuery for mobile

Andersson, Mikael January 2012 (has links)

Studying the impact of a mobile application in food waste reduction, circular economy, and social interaction inside the community.

Gkalfas, Christos January 2019 (has links)
Social and ecological sustainability applications are a significant way to bring equality, equity, and happiness in society. Food waste and food security are two of the most significant problems the people have to tackle the next years. In every country, there are huge problems regarding the food waste which cause serious health problems and pollution not only in the atmosphere but in the subsoil as well. Contrary to that, there is a countless number of people facing food security issues every day across the globe. These problems occurred in Greece as well due to the modern way of living on one hand and the financial crisis on the other. A combination of technological ideas in the economic field of the circular economy could be applied to succeed in sustainable solutions. In this thesis, a literature search conducted in order to identify similar problems in Greece. There are very worrying statistics that indicate the massive food waste that is happening in Greek households. Additionally, the literature search for food security and unemployment reveals the significant problem occurred in society as a result of the financial crisis. An additional search in the field of the circular economy reveals excellent solutions in the agricultural machinery sharing and refactoring that could be applied locally, exploiting the existing infrastructure of the community. These solutions help small and young farmers to improve their financial situations. The author is exploring the effects of the financial crisis in the local economy in an effort to apply technological solutions in a form of a mobile application to interconnect people and make the donation, sharing and job search easier for the community. The ultimate goal of this study is to develop an application that could help the community to move towards social and ecological sustainability. Even though the ideas applied in this thesis are fresh to the community in the author’s region, the results of this work indicate that there are significant support and willingness to contribute. The development efforts are focusing on a mobile application where its features are focusing on the best possible interconnection among people of the community. Participants believe that the application interconnection along with the features provided, like the food donation, food sales, machinery sharing and job search among people of the community, could bring positive results reducing the food waste, promoting the circular economy, and toning the local economy in general. The data have shown that the author is moving towards the right path in his first attempt to present these ideas to the community in his region. Every participant in this study embraces his efforts finding potential value in the provided features of the application.

The relationship of the Amīr al-Ḥakam I with the Mālikī fuqahāʼ in al-Andalus, 796-822.

Anderson, Margaret E. January 1965 (has links)
At the close of the eighth century the third of the Umawi amirs ascended the throne of al-Andalus to be greeted immediately by a rebellion in one of his major towns. This set the stage for a reign which was filled with rebellion and unrest. The border Marches revolted as their governors sought to make themselves independent, a mob of his subjects stormed his palace in Cordoba and almost succeeded in capturing it, he was jeered at when he walked through the streets of Cordoba to the mosque, and at one point he uncovered a plot involving some of the leading scholars in the country to depose him and replace him with his cousin. Cross-platform Mobile Development and Internet of Things : Developing a cross-platform mobile application using web technologies to interact with smart things

Anton, Andersson, Runbert, Johan January 2015 (has links)
Today more and more objects in our daily lives are getting connected to the Internet. This phenomenon is called the Internet of Things and is a way for physical things such as cars, buildings or even bus stations to get access and communicate with other objects using the Internet. The problem is that for every Internet of Things device, an application is often needed in order to communicate with these devices. Developing mobile applications in a separate programming language for each operating system can be an expensive and time consuming task. In this thesis, we implement and evaluate a cross-platform mobile solution for users to interact with smart things using the advantages of web technologies. To compare previous findings in this area, two literature reviews has been performed to find out which is the state of the art on cross-platform mobile development frameworks and smart-things technologies used for interacting with physical objects. The result is a mobile application developed using PhoneGap and jQuery Mobile that interacts with iBeacons, where students inside a university building can get directions and schedules for different rooms. The application received good results from a couple of usability studies, and performed well when measuring its performance. The outcome shows that web technologies that exist today are a viable solution to native mobile applications in terms of interacting with smart things such as tagging technologies.

Imprenta y prácticas poéticas en la sociedad cordobesa del Bajo Barroco (1650-1750) / Imprimerie et pratiques poétiques au sein de la société cordouane du Bas Baroque (1650-1750) / Printing and poetical practices in the society in Cordova in Low Baroque (1650-1750)

Collantes Sánchez, Carlos María 22 December 2016 (has links)
The present thesis, focusing on the study of the poetry printed in Cordova between 1650-1750, it´s an advance in the field opened between the positivist tradition and the innovations in the area of the interpretation, including the sociology of the texts and of the functioning of the works. In the recent years a renovation has appeared in this field, in which the present thesis registers, advancing in a consideration of character to interdisciplinary that it overcomes the existing distances between the former methodologies of the literary studies and his analysis of the texts in stylistic way, with his attention to the material processes, as those of the press and the traffic of the book and the sociology with the relations of authors and readers and the networks that they formed. For the development of the investigation I have the direction from the University of Cordova of Prof. Pedro Ruiz Perez (PHEBO) and for the specialization in press and edition and sociology with Jean-Marc Buiguès (AMERIBER) and the University of Bordeaux 3 Montaigne. This is the start point of the conceptual frame, that considers the convenience of not separating the own work camps of the analysis of the poetry, the history of the edition, the networks of sociology and the resources provided by the new technologies. The methodological model starts of these expositions and takes form of a double line of work: Creation of a bibliography (non-existent up to the date) with support in the tools of the digital humanities (databases, digitized corpuses, etc.) and, of another part, the model of analysis tested in the work on press and poetry, fields respectively developed by both mentioned directors. The conjunction of both allows an new approximation of the questions related to the production, traffic and reading of the texts and his value in a literary field in development.
