Entende-se que ao assumir uma atitude faça-você-mesmo, bem como táticas de apropriação e princípios maker, é possível uma aproximação e maior interação dos museus com a sociedade contemporânea, podendo oferecer uma renovação participativa e contínua de processos. Isto tudo, sem demandar grandes investimentos, motivando os participantes a aprender fazendo e a compartilhar o conhecimento. O uso de uma técnica de digitalização tridimensional faça-você-mesmo, além de trazer agregada a atitude, possibilita a valorização do acervo museológico. Um objeto da coleção torna-se, então, capaz de transpor sua singularidade para alcançar distâncias além das geográficas, levando para o público seu conhecimento para valorização e conscientização de salvaguardar o acervo. Neste sentido, esta pesquisa contempla o desafio de propor diretrizes projetuais para o uso da digitalização 3D faça-você-mesmo em diferentes tipologias de acervos museológicos. Essas diretrizes foram construídas a partir de informações levantadas em experimentos e entrevistas, posteriormente, trabalhadas através de um processo criativo realizado num workshop no Museu Júlio de Castilhos, instituição museológica mais antiga do Rio Grande do Sul, e, por fim, diretrizes e resultados do workshop passam por um refinamento para a confecção de um framework de diretrizes projetuais. O perfil da instituição participante das atividades da pesquisa foi estabelecido por sua variedade de coleção, por apresentar peças com diferentes características físicas, químicas e morfológicas. Os resultados obtidos indicaram a oportunidade de tornar o acervo do museu mais acessível ao público de forma segura, possibilitando diferentes atividades educativas, maior disponibilidade, alcance para as pesquisas e maior conhecimento do acervo do museu. / It is understood that by taking a do-it-yourself attitude, as well as appropriation tactics and maker principles, it is possible to approach and interact more museums with contemporary society and can offer a participatory and continuous renewal of processes. All this, without demanding large investments, motivating participants to learn by doing and sharing knowledge. The use of a three-dimensional digitization technique do-it-yourself, in addition to bringing aggregates to the attitude, makes possible the valuation of the museological collection. An object of the collection becomes able to transpose its singularity to reach distances beyond the geographic ones, taking to the public its knowledge for valuation and awareness to safeguard these collections. In this sense, this research contemplates the challenge of proposing design guidelines for the use of do-it-yourself 3D digitization to be used in different types of museums. These guidelines were constructed from information collected in experiments and interviews, later worked through a creative process carried out in a workshop at the Júlio de Castilhos Museum, the oldest museum in Rio Grande do Sul, and, finally, guidelines and results of the workshop will go through a refinement for the creation of a framework of design guidelines. The profile of the institution participating in the research activities was established by its collection variety, because it presents pieces with different physical, chemical and morphological characteristics. The results indicated the opportunity to make the museum's collection more accessible to the public in a safe way, allowing different educational activities, greater availability, scope for research and greater knowledge of the museum's collection.

A presente pesquisa apresenta um estudo das Capacidades Digitais a fim de compreende-las e examiná-las melhor, e analisar o impacto dessas capacidades digitais na performance de negócios digitais. A literatura indica que as Capacidades Digitais são um alicerce fundamental a partir do qual os negócios digitais podem transformar a experiência do cliente, os processos operacionais e os modelos de negócios. Do estudo teórico dessas capacidades emergiram as seguintes questões de pesquisa: quais são as capacidades digitais relacionadas a performance de negócios digitais? E, qual o impacto das capacidades digitais na performance de negócios digitais? Para responder essas questões os objetivos gerais estabelecidos são: entender quais são as capacidades digitais relacionadas ao desempenho dos negócios digitais e medir o impacto dos recursos digitais no desempenho dos negócios digitais. A pesquisa é apresentada em quatro artigos que foram desenvolvidos em sequência de acordo com o processo da pesquisa científica para responder à questão de pesquisa. O primeiro é uma revisão sistemática de literatura que foi desenvolvida para entender as capacidades digitais. Esta pesquisa é apresentada no artigo 1. Na sequência, foram desenvolvidos estudos qualitativos, com entrevistas e estudos de caso apresentados nos artigos 2 e 3. O segundo artigo examina as capacidades digitais e seu papel no desempenho dos negócios digitais. O terceiro trabalho foi desenvolvido para entender a relação entre os ecossistemas digitais e o valor dos negócios digitais. Após isso, o modelo de pesquisa foi ajustado e uma pesquisa quantitativa foi realizada para medir o impacto das capacidades digitais no desempenho dos negócios digitais, que é apresentado no artigo 4. Por fim, foi possível entender que um negócio digital necessita desenvolver capacidades a fim de monitorar o ambiente, ser responsiva, ter processos digitais eficientes e deve ser capaz de pertencer a outros ecossistemas, com isso ela conseguirá melhorar sua performance. Além disso, os principais resultados indicam que a capacidade de resposta é um recurso crucial que causa um impacto significativo no desempenho dos negócios digitais. / This research presents a study of digital capabilities in order to better understand these capabilities and the impact of these digital capabilities on digital business performance. The literature indicates that digital capabilities is a critical foundation from which digital business can transform the customer experience, operational processes, and business models. From the theoretical study of these capabilities emerged the following research questions: what are the Digital Capabilities that are related to digital business performance? And, what is the impact of digital capabilities on digital business performance? To answer these questions, the following general objectives were elaborated: to understand what are the digital capabilities that are related to digital business performance, and to measure the impact of digital capabilities on digital business performance. Then research started and is presented in here in four articles that have been developed in sequence in order to answer the research question. So, the first step was a systematic review that was developed in order to understand the digital capabilities state of the art. This research is presented in article 1. In the sequence, qualitative studies were developed, with interviews and case studies presented in article 2 and 3. The second paper examines digital capabilities and their role in the digital business performance. We could better understand the digital capabilities, but it was noticed that ecosystem capability needed more studies as it is a new and fundamental theme for understanding the impact of digital capabilities on the performance of the digital business. So, the third paper was developed to understand the relationship between ecosystems and digital business value. Finally, the research model was adjusted, and a survey was carried out in order to measure the impact of digital capabilities on the performance of the digital business, which is presented in article 4. Finally, it was possible to understand that a digital business should develop digital capabilities in order to be capable of monitoring, being responsive, having efficient digital process and able to belong to other ecosystems what will lead to a improve the digital business performance. In addition, the primary results indicate that responsiveness is a crucial capability that makes a significant impact on digital business performance.

Previous issue date: 2015-06-22 / This dissertation proposes an analysis on the digitalization of visual artworks collections, understood as collections of traditional art s objects such as paintings, sculptures, prints and drawings starting from the decision to reproduce this artwork in a digital object up to the final view on virtual environment as the internet. During the studies it is observed that a collection digitalization, regardless of its nature, is more than an ordinary digital conversion, requiring an structured process that impacts systemically, functionally and organizationally all levels of the institution that decides to adhere to digital technologies. Therefore, the artworks collections digitalization goes beyond the issues inherent to scan text documents widespread in libraries. The visual objects (artworks) with its aesthetic contextualization must be subject to reproduction and digitalization processes that consider its intrinsic elements and oriented interfaces to promote users experience. Eventually, the transposition of the museum institutions responsibility as cultural heritage curators of society to a relevant channel for the democratization of information and knowledge diffusion proves to be a reality, a new path with no return. / Esta dissertação propõe uma reflexão sobre a digitalização de acervos de obras de artes visuais, entendidos como coleções de objetos tradicionais da arte tais como pinturas, esculturas, gravuras e desenhos. A trajetória de digitalização desde a decisão da reprodução da obra de arte em um objeto digital à visualização dele em um ambiente virtual como a internet. Ao longo dos estudos observa-se que a digitalização de um acervo, independente de sua natureza, é mais que um processo técnico de conversão digital pois representa um processo estruturado e estratégico que impacta sistemicamente, funcionalmente e organizacionalmente a instituição que decide aderir às tecnologias digitais, ou seja, a digitalização de obras de artes visuais extrapola as questões inerentes à digitalização de documentos textuais praticados em bibliotecas, os objetos visuais (as obras de arte) com seus potenciais estéticos, devem ser pensados a partir de processos de reprodução e de visualização que considerem estes elementos, como através de interfaces esteticamente elaboradas que envolvam os usuários. Constata-se, ao final, que a transposição do papel da instituição museológica de cuidadora do patrimônio cultural da sociedade na qual está inserida para o de canal de democratização da informação e difusão do conhecimento mostra-se uma realidade, um caminho sem volta.

Research ProblemToday, the great focus is on the organization’s place on different digital platforms as well as in the more traditional print world. A lot of research has been done on the factors that are included into an organization’s success; product quality, pricing, visitor satisfaction and availability, to name a few. However, a direct correlation has been identified between a company’s relationships and its success. Social media provides new opportunities for organizations to create and maintain relationships with individuals. However, previous research does not appear to have its focus on the relationship-building work made by destination organizations based on the growth of digitization. Purpose and research question The purpose of the paper is to investigate the Norwegian company Flåm AS communicative relation-building, before and after they were digitized, as well as looking at how their relationship strategy has changed since the digitization process. What does Flåm AS relationship-building work look like? • What has the digitization process looked like? • What characterized the relationship-building work before the digitization process? • What does the relationship-building work look like after the digitization process? MethodUsing a qualitative approach, this thesis has conducted three semi-structured telephone interviews. The respondents are all employed by Flåm AS. In addition to these, a qualitative analysis has been carried out, using documents belonging to the organization. Results There are significant differences to be observed in the relationship-building work done by Flåm AS before and after the organization was digitized. The differences are not only to be found in their distribution strategies but also in the type of recipient the organization has. With the changes in the behavior of visitors and their approach to travel, the organization has adapted its strategies in communicative relationship-building work. Research grants This paper offers an insight into how an organization has adapted its strategies to meet the perceptions and expectations of potential visitors. Furthermore, it highlights the importance of different types of relationship-building work done by an organization.

"We cannot keep everything forever" : Value of the material as a selection criterion for digitization at Swedish humanities special librariesLiljeström, Tatiana January 2019 (has links)
The study examines the role of different types of value of the material in selecting documents for digitization at Swedish humanities special libraries. The main goals of the study were to find out, which types of value are most and least important in the selection process at these libraries, to aid on the identification of general tendencies in attributing values to analogue material for digitization and to provide an overall depiction of significance of different value types for the digitization at the humanities special libraries in Sweden. The two research questions of the study are: 1) Which aspects of value of the material are most important for the Swedish humanities special libraries in their decisions for selecting documents for digitization? and 2) Is there any agreement about the concept of value of the material for digitization among these special libraries? The empirical data has been gathered by means of an extensive self-completion questionnaire which was constructed on the basis of the analysis of previous research literature on selection of material for digitization. The analysis of the findings demonstrates that the intrinsic (intellectual content) value types and use value types are the most important ones for the Swedish humanities special libraries in selecting documents for digitization. Even though the respondent libraries appear to be in accordance in perceiving and assessing significance of many value categories, several of them generate discrepancies and confusion within the informant library group. Therefore, there isn't any general agreement about the concept of value of the material for digitization among the respondent libraries.

Previous issue date: 2013-03-06 / Nenhuma / Às vésperas dos 70 anos, a televisão aberta, com quase a totalidade de abrangência nos domicílios brasileiros, entrará na fase de transmissão digital. Esta mudança de paradigma - ancorada pela superficial discussão pública e sustentada por pesquisas financiadas pelos interesses mercadológicos -, poderia significar uma inversão da dicotomia genuína da televisão no país, que mantém as emissoras comerciais nos canais abertos, em contraposição aos canais de acesso público disponibilizados na televisão por assinatura. As televisões ligadas às universidades, inseridas no campo de canais de acesso público, deram origem a um segmento representativo no país, que, junto às TVs comunitárias e educativas consistiria em um núcleo capaz de fomentar a produção de conteúdo local, contribuindo para a pluralidade da oferta de produtos audiovisuais e, consequentemente, para a democratização da Comunicação no Brasil. A partir da identificação dessa potencialidade nas emissoras ligadas às universidades federais, estaduais ou regionais públicas, associando a essas instituições o caráter de financiamento e finalidade públicos, como produtoras de conteúdo local ou regionalizado alinhado à pluralidade e à democratização audiovisual, a tese propõe uma investigação sobre as TVs universitárias público-estatais nas cidades do interior do Brasil. A avaliação da preparação para a convergência digital nas oito TVs universitárias público-estatais do interior do Brasil confirma as limitações técnicas características deste setor no país, as dificuldades de financiamento, a escassa inserção no debate político da mudança tecnológica que atinge o espectro audiovisual brasileiro, e as tímidas experiências relacionadas à interatividade. A pesquisa confirma, por outro lado, a associação deste grupo com a prioridade pelo conteúdo local, e raros casos de cenários avançados em direção à digitalização em um campo marcado pela escassez de investimentos. Entretanto, o horizonte concreto para a ampliação do espaço das TVs, tanto universitárias, quanto mais amplamente o conjunto das emissoras público-estatais, no novo paradigma da televisão digital no Brasil permanece refém de definições políticas que não apresentam perspectivas para a reversão da atual dicotomia presente na fase analógica. / Celebrating 70 years of existence in Brazil, open television, covering almost the totality of Brazilian homes, will enter the phase of digital broadcasting. This change in paradigm – anchored by the superficial public discussion and sustained by researches financed by market interests – could mean an inversion in the genuine dichotomy of television in the country, which maintains the commercial broadcasters in open channels, in opposition to public access channels available on cable TV. Televisions related to universities, inserted in the field of public access channels, gave birth to a representative segment in the country, which, along with community TV stations and educational ones, would consist in a center that is able to foment the production of local content, contributing to the plurality in the offer of audiovisual products and, consequently, to the democratization of communication in Brazil. By identifying this potentiality in broadcasters related to federal, state or regional universities, associating to these institutions the character of public financing and goal that produce local or regional content aligned to audiovisual plurality and democratization, this thesis proposes an investigation on public state university televisions in inland cities of Brazil. The evaluation of the preparation to digital convergence in eight stations public state university televisions in inland cities of Brazil confirms the technical limitation that characterizes this sector in the country, the difficulties in financing, the scarce insertion in the political debate on technological change that reaches the Brazilian audiovisual spectrum and the timid experiences related to interactivity. This research confirms, on the other hand, the direct association of this group to the priority of local content, identifying the profile of institutional promotion and rare cases of advanced scenarios towards digitization in a field marked by experimentation and lack of investment. However, the concrete horizon to amplify the space of televisions, either the ones related to universities or the more general group of public state broadcasters in the new paradigm of digital television in Brazil, remains hostage of political definitions that do not present perspectives to reverse the current dichotomy present in the analogical phase.

Digitalisering menas vara en av de mest grundläggande drivkrafterna för långsiktig förändring inom redovisningsbranschen. Redovisningskonsultens arbete är brett och detta digitala skifte påverkar yrkesrollen inom många aspekter. Att skapa förståelse kring en förändring likt digitalisering menas kräva en analys av den externa miljön tillsammans med individens upplevelse av denna där tidigare studier ofta menas framställa digitaliseringens influenser som skev. Detta leder fram till studiens syfte att genom ett institutionellt perspektiv skapa förståelse för redovisningskonsultens upplevelse av förändringen, möjligheterna och utmaningarna som digitaliseringen medför till yrkesrollen. För att uppnå syftet har en kvalitativ studie med semistrukturerade intervjuer genomförts. Studiens resultat visade att den pågående digitaliseringen innebär en förändring för redovisningskonsultens yrkesroll i form av ett institutionellt strukturellt skifte på samtliga nivåer vilket inte går att undvika. / Digitization is stated to be one of the most fundamental driving force for long term change in accounting. The accountants work is broad and a digital change has the power to change the profession on multiple levels. It requires analyzing the external environment together with the individual’s experience of this to create an understanding about the turbulent change that digitization entails, a subject that other studies mean needs clarification. This study aims to create an understanding about the accountant's experience about changes, opportunities and challenges of the profession as a result of digitization through an institutional perspective. This was made with an qualitative method using semi-structured interviews. The results of the study showed that the accountant experiences the ongoing digitization as a institutional, structural change on all levels of the profession which is inevitable.

Den digitala tekniken förändras ständigt, vilket innebär att människor behöver anpassa sig och utveckla sina färdigheter. Detta innebär även att förskolan behöver göra förändringar i sin verksamhet för att kunna ge barnen rätt möjligheter för att utveckla adekvat digital kompetens. I en verksamhet där förskollärare och barn har olika förhållningssätt gällande digitala verktyg ställs förskollärare inför en del utmaningar i sitt praktiska arbete. Kvalitativa forskningsintervjuer har utförts med tre legitimerade och verksamma förskollärare i tre olika kommuner, för att belysa utmaningar i förskollärarnas praktiska arbete och undersöka om kvalitativa aspekter och innehåll kommer i skymundan. Syftet är att öka kunskapen om arbetet med digitala verktyg i förskolan och förståelsen för förskollärares uppfattningar om digitalisering och adekvat digital kompetens. Detta görs genom tre forskningsfrågor. Den första forskningsfrågan riktar sig till att avgöra hur förskollärare beskriver sin uppfattning om digitalisering och adekvat digital kompetens. Den andra för att avgöra hur förskollärare beskriver sitt praktiska arbete med digitala verktyg och den tredje för att avgöra vilka faktorer förskollärare ser påverkar arbetet med digitala verktyg och barnens lärande. Slutsatsen är att förskolorna rör sig framåt med digitaliseringen och införandet av digitala verktyg i sina verksamheter, men att arbetet inte är helt lätt. Förskollärarna saknar tydliga direktiv om hur arbetet ska göras för att på bästa sätt uppnå att alla barn ska få adekvat digital kompetens och ett lärande som tydligt kopplas till de digitala verktygen. Det går även att se att leken kommer i skymundan som en kvalitativ aspekt och ett innehåll gällande digitala verktyg. Av denna anledning är det av vikt att undersöka vilka ramfaktorer i svensk förskola som kan förändras för att digitala verktyg ska få en naturlig plats i leksammanhang.Centrala begrepp: förskola, digitalisering, digitala verktyg, lek, adekvat digital kompetens, lärande / The digital technology is constantly changing, which means that people need to adapt and develop their technological skills. This also means that the Swedish preschool needs to make changes in order to be able to give the children the opportunity to develop adequate digital skills. In teaching establishments where preschool teachers and children have different approaches regarding digital tools, preschool teachers are faced with some challenges in their work. Qualitative research interviews have been conducted with three fully qualified and active preschool teachers in three different municipalities, in order to highlight these challenges and to investigate whether qualitative aspects and content gets sidelined. The purpose of this study is to increase knowledge about the work with digital tools in preschools and understanding about preschool teachers' perceptions of digitization and adequate digital competence. This is done through three research questions. The first research question is aimed at determining how preschool teachers describe their perception of digitization and adequate digital competence. The second one to determine how preschool teachers describe their practical work with digital tools and the third to determine which factors preschool teachers see affects the work with digital tools and children's learning. The conclusion of this study is that the preschools are progressing with the digitization and the introduction of digital tools in their daily operations, but that the work is not easily done. The preschool teachers lack clear directives on how the work should be done in order to achieve the best possible outcome for all children to receive adequate digital competence and a learning that is clearly linked to the digital tools. It is also possible to see that the children's play fade into obscurity as a qualitative aspect regarding digital tools. For this reason, it is important to further investigate which framework factors can be changed in Swedish preschools in order for digital tools to have a natural place in children's play.

Beyond IT and Productivity : How Digitization Transformed the Graphic IndustryCöster, Mathias January 2005 (has links)
<p>This thesis examines how IT and the digitization of information have transformed processes of the graphic industry. The aim is to show how critical production processes have changed when information in these processes have been digitized. Furthermore it considers if this has influenced changes in productivity while also identifying other significant benefits that have occurred as a result of the digitization. The debate concerning the productivity paradox is one important starting point for the thesis. Previous research on this phenomenon has mainly used different types of statistical databases as empirical sources. In this thesis though, the graphic industry is instead studied from a mainly qualitative and historical process perspective.</p><p>The empirical study shows that digitization of information flows in the graphic industry began in the 1970s, but the start of the development and use of digitized information happened in the early 1980s. Today almost all types of materials in the industry, for example text and pictures, have developed into a digital form and the information flows are hereby more or less totally digitized. A common demand in the industry is that information produced should be adaptable to the different channels in which it may be presented. The consequences from use of IT and the digitization of information flows are identified in this thesis as different outcomes, effects, and benefits. The outcomes are identified directly from the empirical material, whilst the resulting effects are generated based on theories about IT and business value. The benefits are in turn generated from a summarization of the identified effects.</p><p>Identified effects caused by IT and digitization of information include integration and merging of processes; vanishing professions; reduced number of operators involved; decreased production time; increased production capacity; increased amount and quality of communication; and increased quality in produced originals. One conclusion drawn from the analysis is that investments and use of IT have positively influenced changes in productivity. The conclusion is based on the appearance of different automational effects, which in turn have had a positive influence on factors that may be a part of a productivity index. In addition to productivity other benefits, based on mainly informational effects, are identified. These benefits include increased capacity to handle and produce information, increased integration of customers in the production processes, increased physical quality in produced products, and options for management improvements in the production processes. The conclusions indicate that it is not always the most obvious benefit, such as productivity, that is of greatest significance when IT is implemented in an industry.</p> / ISRN/Report code: LiU-Tek-Lic-2005:38
