"Dimensionamento de pessoal de enfermagem nos hospitais de Ribeirão Preto-SP" / Dimensioning of nursing staff in Ribeirão Preto – SP hospitals

Campos, Luciana de Freitas 07 July 2004 (has links)
This research aimed to analyze how nursing staff has been dimensioned at hospitals in Ribeirão Preto-SP, Brazil. Research subjects were nursing coordinators in five of these hospitals. Hence, a qualitative descriptive study was carried out, realizing interviews by means of a script with closed and open questions and content analysis according to Bardin (1977). We observed that the persons responsible for this task are female, with diversified work experience, and currently occupy the highest level in the nursing service hierarchy. The definition of dimensioning as obtained from the subjects corresponds to those found in literature. As to the aim, the following factors stood out: previewing professionals, operational guarantee for nursing work, attending to clients’ expectations in relation to their needs, fill out personnel vacancies, guarantee personnel allocation in the work scale. The usage of the nursing personnel serves as a justification to increase staff through new contracts. As to dimensioning parameters, the following factors stood out: average stay, unit characteristic, bed occupation rate, nursing care model, kind of clientele, kind of agreement, nursing team and sector composition, work hours per day and per month, absenteeism rate, Patient Classification System. With respect to dimensioning facilities, special attention must be granted to the importance the participating nursing coordinators give to the relation with the board of the institution, due to the human resource policy. In our opinion, this factor motivates these nursing coordinators to carry out the personnel estimation, and leads towards greater commitment from other nurses, due to the perspective of improved care quality, which is partially attributed to the number of nursing staff in the institution’s employee cadre. The following challenges were mentioned: the human resource policy itself, which significantly interferes in some nursing service guidelines and nurses’ low level of decision-making power to decide on whether to hire staff or not, which fragilizes the delivered care and, also, the challenges posed by staff dimensioning itself, such as the contracting party’s understanding of the nursing work process and rotation. The legal aspect inherent in the profession was also dealt with. Nursing managers see this estimation as their legal responsibility.

Mätsystem för effektförluster i en högfrekvenstransformator / Measuringsystem for powerlosses in a highfrequency transformer

Strömberg, Tina, Gumucio, José January 2012 (has links)
To measure losses in a transformer with today’s methods is either slow or insecure. There s a new method developed by Alstom that hasn't been actualize in to a test-system and that has been the assignment in this project. The idea is built on a switched system and a CLR- circuit in the resonant frequency. The test-system has a calculated power-loss that make the efficiency to be as high as 99,8% and in reality over 95%. But in the end it was discovered that the circuit was only able to deliver 70A when the thought was 200 A. More over was with the frequency of 200 kHz the signal was so distorted that all results over 100 kHz should be questioned. The goal was a efficiency of 99%. That was one of the basis in our calculation and dimensioning. When we order the components we foundbetter than we needed och the efficiency was improved. In the reality the efficiency is 95% and we think it's because the measurements-instruments accuracy and the distortion. In some measurements the efficiency went over 100% and that greatly improve that idea. Every part of the circuit was simulated piece bye piece and then together. That to increase the understanding of the system and to see that themodel works. The simulated efficiency was very low compared to calculated and in reality. The fact was gathered from literature, technical reports from Alstom and meetings with Per Ranstad et. al. / Om man vill mäta förluster på en transformator skerdetta antingen väldigt osäkert eller väldigt långsamt.

Advanced numerical tools for aerodynamic optimization of helicopter rotor blades / Outils numériques avancés pour le dimensionnement de rotors sustentateurs d’hélicoptère

Leusink, Debbie 05 April 2013 (has links)
The aerodynamic design of helicopter rotor blades requires taking into accountedmultiple objectives simultaneously, to provide a compromise solution for the conflictingrequirements associated to hover and forward flight conditions. The present work aims atdeveloping an automated optimization based on the combination of advanced optimizationalgorithms and simulation tools. As a preliminary step, candidate simulation methods andoptimization algorithms are assessed in detail. Two simulation methods are employed for thecomputation of rotor performance: the in-house Helicopter Overall Simulation Tool (HOST),based on the blade element method, and ONERA’s Computation Fluid Dynamics (CFD) codeelsA. An in-detail analysis of both simulation tools for well documented test cases is carried out, with focus on their capability of predicting trends of the global rotor performance as a function ofblade geometry. The impact of computation settings is also characterized. Then, an optimizationstrategy is developed, allowing the incorporation of multiple objectives and complex constraints, and the detection of global optima for multi-modal problems. Based on these criteria, a geneticalgorithm (GA) is selected. To reduce the number of simulations required to find optimalsolutions, a Multi-Fidelity Optimization (MFO) strategy is proposed: a preliminary low-fidelity GAoptimization stage based on HOST simulations is used to reduce the design space by selectinga high-performance subspace. Then, a CFD-based surrogate model is constructed on thereduced design space by using a sample of high-performance blade from the low-fidelity step. The final optimization step is run on the high-fidelity surrogate. The proposed MFO approachresults in significant rotor performance improvements while using a far lower number of costlyCFD evaluations of the objective functions with respect to a full GA optimization. The proposedapproach is shown to represent an efficient design tool for industrial helicopter rotor blade

A Model for Capacity Planning in Cassandra : Case Study on Ericsson’s Voucher System

Abbireddy, Sharath January 2015 (has links)
Cassandra is a NoSQL(Not only Structured Query Language) database which serves large amount of data with high availability .Cassandra data storage dimensioning also known as Cassandra capacity planning refers to predicting the amount of disk storage required when a particular product is deployed using Cassandra. This is an important phase in any product development lifecycle involving Cassandra data storage system. The capacity planning is based on many factors which are classified as Cassandra specific and Product specific. This study is to identify the different Cassandra specific and product specific factors affecting the disk space in Cassandra data storage system. Based on these factors a model is to be built which would predict the disk storage for Ericsson’s voucher system.A case-study is conducted on Ericsson’s voucher system and its Cassandra cluster. Interviews were conducted on different Cassandra users within Ericsson R&D to know their opinion on capacity planning approaches and factors affecting disk space for Cassandra. Responses from the interviews were transcribed and analyzed using grounded theory.A total of 9 Cassandra specific factors and 3 product specific factors are identified and documented. Using these 12 factors a model was built. This model was used in predicting the disk space required for voucher system’s Cassandra. The factors affecting disk space for deploying Cassandra are now exhaustively identified. This makes the capacity planning process more efficient. Using these factors the Voucher system’s disk space for deployment is predicted successfully.

Scholzen, Alexander, Chudoba, Rostislav, Hegger, Josef January 2011 (has links)
Within the collaborate research center 532 at RWTH Aachen University the construction of an exposition hall with a double-curved roof structure consisting of textile reinforced concrete is currently planned. A numerical tool has been developed to calculate the necessary number of reinforcement layers. Further, the tool evaluates the characteristic stresses of the load case combinations in the ultimate limit state taking into account a reduction of the load-bearing capacity of the textile reinforcement due to alignment of the rovings in the crack bridge and a better activation of the inner filaments for bending induced tension. The resistance of the material has been determined in experimental investigations of tensile and bending specimens of the same thickness and reinforcement ratio as the planned shell structure.
