COMPETITIVENESS IN INTERNATIONAL TRADE FIRMS' PARTICIPATION AND TRADE CONCERNS

DE FALCIS, ELEONORA 03 April 2019 (has links)
The thesis analyzes the competitiveness in international trade with a multidimensional approach. The work focuses on three levels: a) an analysis of productivity indicators in the agro-food and beverage companies that operate with greater success in the foreign market; b) the role of promotion agencies in support of exporting companies; c) and finally, non-tariff barriers and trade concerns at the level of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in sanitary and phytosanitary matters. The work, conducted in the three perspectives (microeconomic, institutional and international), underlines the link between foreign trade as a factor in improving the competitiveness of companies, also highlights the important role of the institutions and support agencies that accompany companies in the internationalization process, and finally it sheds light on the change in international relations, regarding non-tariff barriers and sanitary and phytosanitary trade concerns between the WTO members, highlighting a reduction in the centrality of the United States and European Union.

COMPARISON OF THE KENTUCKY NUTRITION EDUCATION PROGRAM HEALTHY EATING INDEX PRE- AND POST- TEST DATA FOR 2012-2013

Shepherd, Corey Joe 01 January 2019 (has links)
Nutrition education has become a topic of significant concern in today’s society. An area prominent in the interest of nutrition is the battle against food security. Programs like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program – Education (SNAP-Ed) is helping to improve its participants’ food security by providing nutrition education. Kentucky SNAP-Ed participants were asked to complete a survey and a 24-hour food recall to evaluate their knowledge in the following areas: Healthy Eating Index (HEI) scores, food resource management and nutrition practices. Each participant completed an average of 7-12 nutrition education lessons throughout the year. To graduate from the program participants were required to complete the same survey and food recall, applying knowledge gained from the program. Responses from 2,868 participants were analyzed to assess the impact of the SNAP-Ed program. Results demonstrated an improvement of average post-mean responses in all three areas (p-value < 0.001). In conclusion, this research supports that those who participated in the 2012 – 2013 SNAP-Ed program graduated with an overall positive change in nutrition behavior, promoting enhanced food security in low-income families.

Ätstörningsspecifik reflektiv funktion : samband med affektmedvetenhet, självskattad anknytningsstil och ätstörningssymtom / Symptomspecific reflective functioning for eating disorders : associations with affect consciousness, selfreported attachment style and eating disorder symptoms

Wallin, Annika, Samuelsson, Karin January 2013 (has links)

Rister, Fredrik, Karlsson, Axel January 2013 (has links)

Maintenance effects of strategy instruction for algebra skills with students with challenging behavior

Roundhill, Marie Colleen 20 February 2012 (has links)
This thesis consists of a single subject multiple baseline study of a math intervention for students with behavioral challenges. Students with behavioral challenges were given instruction using a concrete, representational, abstract (CRA) sequence in Algebra problems requiring transformations on both sides of the equation. This study examined maintenance of those skills. Results indicate that while accuracy decreased from the post-intervention to maintenance phases, scores remained well-above baseline levels indicating that the students retained understanding of the concepts taught. In a social validity survey, participants indicated that they liked the intervention, found it beneficial, and sometimes use it in their classes. / text
