Läsa och samtala : Vad betyder folkbibliotekets bokcirkel för användaren? / To read and to talk : What does the reading group of the public library mean to the user?

Wahlström, Ulrika January 2013 (has links)
The aim of this Master’s thesis is to investigate the meaning the reading group of the public library has to a number of users. To fulfill the aim the following three questions have been formulated: 1) What do a number of users expect from the reading group of the public library? 2) Which approach/attitude or approaches/attitudes do a number of users have to reading and to talking about reading? 3) How do a number of users experience the ongoing reading group? The research is founded on qualitative interviews with five users that take part in three different reading groups in public libraries. The theories that are used is the theory of three so called strategies - the pragmatic, the traditionalistic, the emancipatory – and the theory of flow. The theories have been used to analyze the results and as a way to describe the meaning of the reading group to a number of users. In the review of the literature existing studies of reading groups and relevant literature about reading and reading promotion activities have been examined.Several meanings of the reading group of the public library to a number of users have been discovered and described. The part of the emancipatory strategy that concern personal development is an important meaning. The reading group also turned out to have, outside the theories, a clear social meaning. The meaning can also be described with flow and with the pragmatic strategy. The traditionalistic meaning is limited. / Program: Bibliotekarie

Solidaritet som grundfundament : En studie om tillit i den autonoma vänstern

Åstrand Melin, Frida January 2016 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to investigate what underlying causes drive people to take part in the Swedish autonomous left-wing movement. The autonomous left-wing movement is an extraparliamentary mob, in Sweden often attributed in negative terms, considered as extremists. Interviewing six activists has given me the chance to better understand the movement in terms of ideology as well as understanding their lack of reliability in the Swedish government and other social structures. The study also shows a complexity in the relationship between the interviewees and fascists, as well as in the Swedish police and the Swedish migration office, which is based on a combination of ideological values as well as a lack of trust to the Swedish system as a whole.

Hur ett monster blir ett monster : Monsterkroppars tillblivelse och orientering i True Blood

Tagesson, Stefanie January 2019 (has links)

The digital transformation of drama : Learning opportunities and obstacles

Andersson, Louise January 2023 (has links)
The purpose of this master thesis is to increase knowledge of facilitators´ and participants´ learning experiences in online drama. Semi-structured interviews with 14 informants were conducted. After that an analyzation based on Mezirow´s transformative learning theory was carried out. By using an abductive approach and a thematic analysis, the results show that the informants have experienced both opportunities and obstacles in learning. The opportunities that are being mentioned are around individual-, team-, and collective learning, methodology and technical developments. The obstacles that are being mentioned are within methodology and technical developments. Some examples that come up as both learning opportunities and learning obstacles are around time, amount of people and attention span, how to use the camera, accessibility and connection, bodily aspects, safety, security and confidentiality, knowledge, and possible bias around technical developments. To create learning opportunities in online drama, facilitators need to have instrumental learning around the methodology, setting, and what artefacts-, technical applications- and other technical features to use. Traumatic and embodied learning can create further learning opportunities that can lead to a transformation in online drama. Online drama can be viewed as an emancipatory education and a sustainable transformative pedagogy where mind, body and spirit can connect. The results are reasonably consistent with previous research. The discussion problematizes the need for further research to develop the domain of online drama further.
