"Interdisciplinaridade em cursos de graduação na área da saúde da Universidade de Uberaba-UNIUBE" / Interdisciplinaridade in courses of graduation in the area of the health of the University of Uberaba - Uniube

Gattas, Maria Lucia Borges 02 May 2005 (has links)
This study aimed at getting to know how the interdisciplinary concept was understood by the subjects involved in the courses within the Health Area of the University of Uberaba – UNIUBE. The term Area has to do with courses integration and its disciplines. The Area, virtual matrix, performed the interdisciplinary experience through the Health Promotion Program – Pro-Health. This program was elaborated with the participation of different undergraduate courses, aiming at the health priorities of the target population. The study was developed in a Basic Health Unit-BHU under the full management of UNIUBE, in the Alfredo Freire borough. A specific instrument focused on the perception of the interdisciplinary concept and the Pro-Health experience was built to evaluate the practical experience. The instrument included data on personal identification, interviewees’ schooling and professional background (head, professor, undergraduate student, subprogram supervisor, besides HBU officials and users), as well as their opinion on their interdisciplinary experience. Through report analysis, it may be concluded that the Area was the inducing agent and Pro-Health was the facilitator of the interdisciplinary process among the undergraduate courses in the Health Area. Also, that the interdisciplinary factor, besides its inherent cognitive element, carries a subjective component represented by the willingness to cooperate, collaborate and exchange ideas, besides sharing knowledge and working experience. In short, the interdisciplinary factor is a matter of attitude in face of knowledge, its diffusion and praxis.

UNDERSTANDING ANIMATION USE ON MOBILE INTERFACES

Yexin Wang (5930927) 10 June 2019 (has links)

Animations are playing an important role in today’s user interface design. To investigate the animation usage on smart phone interfaces, in this study, I inspected 428 animation videos from five smart phone apps to answer the question: “How does the animation change on interfaces from 2008 to 2017?”. By comparing the parameters such as frequency and duration based on the context from the historical perspective, the results can provide insights for both the HCI and UX community. The findings on the key markers laid a foundation for researcher to understand the animation use specially on interfaces in the industry overtime, also providing insights for practitioners to improve the user experience by looking into the animation use.

Re-centring migrant enterprise geographies : translocal Ghanaian and Polish enterprise within and through London

Phillips, Joshua January 2015 (has links)
In the wake of financial crisis the UK Coalition government has emphasised an ‘enterprise for all’ agenda for economic growth that, paradoxically, marginalises migrant entrepreneurs within an ‘immigrant reduction’ agenda. While migrant entrepreneurs may be written off as ‘failing’ within economic theory and policy, my research shows instead that the value of migrant enterprise is far from marginal. Focusing on Ghanaian and Polish migrant enterprise within and through London, I recentre our understanding away from the spatially partial (trans)national frameworks used in previous studies, towards a spatially holistic translocal conceptualisation of migrant enterprise. I re-conceptualise the value of migrant enterprise as a continuum of economic and social value, created for multiple stakeholders who consume and simultaneously construct this value relationally across space. Further, I unpack migrant enterprise practices in relation to migrant entrepreneurs’ translocal capital mobilisations and personal mobilities that stretch across localities in the Global North and South. I argue that this translocal framework also provides a more useful basis for facilitating migrant enterprise in practice. I highlight key gaps in support provision between publicly-funded institutions that fail to engage with the specific yet heterogeneous needs of migrant entrepreneurs, combined with self-funded support provisions that are inaccessible to the most capital-poor migrant entrepreneurs. To address these gaps, I make the case for further development of and investment in community-based enterprise support as an appropriate and realistic approach for enabling migrant entrepreneurs to create value across space. My research also expands the intellectual trading zone within Geography by constructing a ‘hybrid’ Economic-Development Geography of translocal migrant enterprise. I argue that the continued expansion of this ‘hybrid’ inter-sub-disciplinary approach is crucial to Geographers’ capacity to theorise our increasingly globalised world and effect positive change within it.

Experience, socialization, application, and relevance in music education

Deal, Madison January 1900 (has links)
Master of Music / Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance / Ruth Gurgel / This lesson plan was based on my music education philosophy including the aspects of experience, socialization, application, and relevance. Students used aural skills while sight reading new music and singing dominant to tonic chords during warm up exercises. They created movement emphasizing different musical concepts and analyzed new music. I have grown exponentially as a teacher since I started the Masters’ program at Kansas State University. The two major developments in my teaching have been the paradigm switch from product to process and the cultivation of an environment where students take ownership of learning. My students have become independent musicians due to practicing aural skills, learning music theory, and activating higher-order thinking.

Exploring how organisations design for customer experience in non-hedonic service contexts

Low, Nicholas Mark January 2017 (has links)
Customer experience is one strategic option for organisations wishing to differentiate their service offering. Little research however has been conducted to explain how service design and management practices influence customer experience in non-hedonic contexts, settings in which the objectives for the design of the delivery system are not experiential. The objective of this research is to address this gap in academic knowledge. The conceptual framework used as the basis of the empirical research demonstrates how four experience mechanism constructs, incorporated into the design of the delivery system, facilitate the customer’s involvement in the delivery of the service and influence how they perceive the experience that emerges as a result. To explore the relevance of the framework two case studies were conducted. Data was collected principally through interviews with employees working at various levels throughout the organisations hierarchy and with customers. Observations and secondary source material also provided additional evidence. The thesis provides an original and distinct contribution to knowledge, through three main findings: Firstly, the research found evidence that the conceptual framework was relevant to the design of the delivery system and in customers’ perception of their experience. This challenges assumptions in existing literature that experience might not be a relevant design consideration in non-hedonic service contexts. Secondly, the findings provide a point of distinction between experiences in hedonic and non-hedonic contexts. Finally the study extends experience design theory demonstrating how in the contexts studied, the experience mechanisms act as antecedents for the experience a customer perceives. Whilst conducting only two case studies limits the impact of the findings, the propositions formulated to explain the key themes identified, can be used as a vehicle through which future quantitative research can be carried out, therefore extending the generalisability of the study beyond the contexts studied.

The dissertation aims to record and analyze the experiences and singularities experienced by six women capoeiristas, with an analytical focus on the educational potential of Capoeira Angola in their lives. It is placed in the context of the present time, taking as a temporal cut the initiation of these women in Capoeira, between 1986 and 2016, highlighting their passages in art practices in the city of Porto Alegre. It treats Capoeira Angola as a formative and educational field, intersecting aspects of this cultural practice with issues of gender and ethnicity. The research is inserted in the field of History of Education and brings a qualitative approach supported by Oral History methodology through the use of comprehensive interview. The writing emphasizes how the six women think and live the feminine presence in the space of Capoeira Angola, evidencing the experience of each one and the understanding of the difference that occurs in becoming a woman practicing and teaching the art of Capoeira. Understanding Capoeira Angola as a space of multiple learning, tensions and resistance, highlighting themes such as: becoming a woman, recognizing ancestry, ethics, equity in ethnic-racial relations and gender, ties to religiosity and solidarity. It uses authors such as ARAÚJO (2016) LOURO (1997), PERROT (1998), CHAUI (2011) CERTEAU (2012), SCOTT (1992; 2015) ERRANTE (2000) OLIVEIRA (2012), LAROSSA (2002; 2016) . We analyze the changes in the life of capoeiristas, based on their experiences in Capoeira, using the metaphor - from "small" to "big wheel" (ARAÚJO, 2015) - the wheel of life.

Effets du comportement virtuel sur le comportement physique du consommateur : le cas des usages du smartphone au cours d’un séjour touristique / Effects of virtual behavior on physical consumer behavior : the case of smartphone use duront a holiday

Salvadore, Mathieu 10 December 2015 (has links)
The purpose of this research is to understand how the tourist uses his smartphone to discover a tourist destina- tion. We develop and test a model of use-diffusion of smartphone .We identify three categories of mobile services uses, orientation, organization and search for information located (SMOORIL). The model considers four deter- minants related to the personal characteristics of the tourist and 3 determinants related to the context of use. The consequences of these practices are identified for tourist experience and satisfaction with these services. The re- lationships between variables were examined using a structural equation modeling. Results of this research show that SMOORIL uses are mainly explained by smartphone daily uses. Need to disconnect has no effect on this kind of use. Also, if SMOORIL uses have a positive effect on tourism experience, the fact that tourists perceive effect of these practices on social dimension of tourism experience negatively affect satisfaction with SMOORIL. From a conceptual point of view, this work proposes a framework to analyzing relationships between virtual and physical consumer behavior. From a theoretical perspective, this research shows importance of studying uses to understand how the consumer uses smartphone to discover geographical space. Finally, this research invites professionals to reflect on the relevance of offer mobile services to tourists according to type of experience(s) offered by the destination.

Andersson, Emma, Nylén, Melina January 2019 (has links)
Background:As the life expectancy of the population increases, more people are diagnosed with dementia. The diagnosis causes a lack of self-care for the affected person, which can result in a relative taking up the role of caregiver. Thus, the quality of life of the relatives may deteriorate when their own needs are disregarded. Relatives support is important in everyday life. Aim: The aim of the study was to investigate family caregivers experiences of caring for a relative with dementia. Method:A literature review based on 13 qualitative articles, selected on the basis of inclusion criteria. Results: After compiling 13 scientific articles, four themes emerged; the life situation gets a turnaround, the disease changed everyday life, the caregiver's experience of health and the importance of knowledge and support for a good care. The caregiver experienced the changed life situation demanding. New roles as well as changing family relationships caused difficulties in life. The dementia disease caused personality changes that forced the relative to adapt the everyday life to the relative. The physical and mental health of the caregiver was adversely affected by the situation. Relatives felt that feelings of anxiety dominated over the loved one and in the thoughts of the future. Lack of information and knowledge caused difficulties in the care of the dementia patient. The importance of support in everyday life emerged. Conclusion: The life situation changes and life forces adaptation after dementia. Formal support is significant in everyday life. Relatives experience psychological and physical illness. Lack of knowledge and information can be an important cause of perceived bad health, access to support should be facilitated.

Närståendes upplevelse av att förlora en anhörig i suicid : En kvalitativ litteraturbaserad studie / Relatives' experiences of losing a next of kin in suicide

Sjölie, Jessica, Eriksson, Sandra January 2019 (has links)
Background: Suicide is a common cause of death and mental illness is the main reason why someone decides to end their life. Many family members are left in sorrow after these dramatic changes. Research shows that people who have lost a relative in suicide are more likely to become depressed. Objective: The purpose of this study was to describe how relatives experience losing a relative to suicide. Method: A literature-based study was used to investigate how relatives experience losing a relative to suicide. The results were analyzed by using a qualitative content analysis comprising five steps. The analysis resulted in three themes and eight subthemes. Results: The result showed that the initial response to the suicide is shock and confusion. They experienced a hard time understanding what have happened and needed support to cope. Society's stigmatization made it hard to move on. Finally they have to accept the unacceptable in order to continue their lives. Conclusion: The relatives got into a traumatic crisis when they first heard of the suicide. They experienced problems with their mental- and psychical health. They need a lot of support to find strategies for managing their grief. Nurses play a major role in helping them in their grief, giving them comfort and finding professional support.
