Semânticas da amizade e suas implicações políticas. Familialismo e alteridade entre amigos nas classes populares / Semantics of the friendship and theirs implications politics. Familiarity and alterity between friends in the popular classrooms.Livia Godinho Nery Gomes 17 November 2005 (has links)
The semantic of friendship has been articulated, historically, to the equality, fraternity ideals, characterizing itself for familial semantic that associate the friend to the figure of the brother. However, some authors point that the familial semantic privileges homogenization processes and suppression of alterity, being able to configure intolerable practical, of discrimination of the otherness. Therefore, they consider the disarticulation friendship-familiarity, detaching the friendship as privileged intersubjective relation of politics experimentation for its unexpected quality in the bond with alterity. This research investigated the quality politics of the friendship, aiming at to analyze, in the field of the daily relationship, the friendship relation as traumatic intersubjective bond of experimentation that it makes possible transformations in the subjectivities, in the which action innovative politics they can be to complete. Searching to understand as the friendship bows they can constitute privileged relations of experimentation of relationship forms others, incompatible with the individualistic and exculpatory models of the capitalism, workers of popular cooperatives had been interviewed about theirs histories of friendship. In accordance with the narratives some meanings for the friendship had been found. The friend is not qualified only as brother, but the friendship exceeds the familiar qualities for what it in same itself informs: the dialogue that promotes an equality politics condition. The results detach the friendship relation as privileged space of considerate listening, of shelter and exchanges of experiences. The narratives had demonstrated bonds of friendship as relations of production of subjectivity in a full bond of exchanges of knowledge and learnings, in which the friends modify themselves, they strengthen theirs abilities, and theirs dreams are stimulated. The contemporary fragility of the social bows also was pointed, the citizens of the research detaches the social isolation, the individualism, relations of impediment of the word and disrespect of the other. On the other hand, the solidary bows that blossom between friends in the popular classrooms escape to the capitalists imperatives and resist the oppression situation, disclosing creative ways of confrontation of espoliantes conditions that constitute resistance and organization politics, contributing to revert situations of extreme difficulty and poverty.

Mycobacterium leprae infection (M. leprae) triggers changes in the functional status of Schwann cells (SCs), which are responsible for the production of myelin sheath and neural homeostasis. Previous studies indicate that peripheral nerve injury modulates the expression of key factors involved in the differentiation and maturation of SCs. In leprosy, functional changes in these cells may be involved in the pathogenesis of neural damage. The present study sought to determine the expression of the transcription factors KROX-20, SOX-10, JUN and the neurotrophic receptor p75NTR, involved in the differentiation and maturation processes of SCs. Data were obtained from primary murine SCs culture exposed to M. leprae for seven and 14 days, with different multiplicities of infection (MOI 100:1, MOI 50:1). The same factors were evaluated in vivo on sciatic nerve of nude mice (NU-Foxn1nu), after six and nine months of infection. By comparing experimental groups versus controls, our SC culture results demonstrate significant reduction of KROX-20 and SOX-10, as well as elevation in the frequency of cells immunolabelled by p75NTR. In parallel, sciatic nerves of nude mice infected with M. leprae showed a decrease in KROX-20 and an increase of p75NTR when compared to uninfected animals. Our results corroborate previous findings on M. leprae interference in the expression of key factors involved in cell maturation, favoring the maintenance of a non-myelinating phenotype in SCs, with possible implications for the repair of adult peripheral nerves.

Tumour metabolism and radioprotection of normal tissue in BALB/c and CBA miceDe Villiers, Neil Heinrich January 1992 (has links)
Thesis (Master Diploma (Medical Technology) -- Cape Technikon, Cape Town, 1992 / The steady state in a tumour rapidly changes with its growth and the subsequent deteriorating
blood and nutrient supply. This adaptation in the steady state of the tumour is shown in the
increased lactate dehydrogenase and acid phosphatase activity in the tumour during it's
growth. These alterations in the tumour metabolism places an increased burden on the body
to supply nutrient and to discard the waste products of the tumour. This is demonstrated at
the macroscopic level by the decreasing body weight and food intake when the tumour
burden increases, and also at the metabolic levels by the responses of certain glycolytic and
Cori cycle enzymes. Furthermore three distinct stages were observed in the Corl cycle
response to the influence of the tumour namely, a silent or preclinical stage, a
hypermetabolic stage and a hypometabolic stage. Although the decreasing body weight
cannot be directly linked to the process of gluconeogenesis, the onset of anorexia appeared
to coincide with the end of the hypermetabolic stage and the beginning of the hypometabolic
stage in gluconeogenesis. This clearly shows that the body's steady state is adversely
affected by the presence of the tumour and that the conditions at the metabolic level seem to
cause the anorexia. Furthermore, it is well known that the success of cancer therapies
depends entirely on the effectiveness o{the modality to kill the tumour cell and on the ability .
of the host to absorb the damage caused by the modality without being destroyed in the
process itself. The second part of this study demonstrates the radioprotective effects of ATP
at all levels. It is clear from this work that ATP had a bigger influence in protecting the
normal tissue than it had on the tumour tissue. This was demonstrated by the response of
acid phosphatase (AP) and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G-6-PDH) in the tumour and
testis. Furthermore, it would seem that ATP has a multifactorial interaction with the cell,
two possible mechanisms of protection are indicated by these results. The fIrst of these
interactions is through the receptors of the cell to stimulate enhanced glycolysis, for higher
energy production and thus repair. The second possibility is the interaction of ATP with the
receptor of the cell to inhibit the production of free radicals and thus damage, as
demonstrated by the response of G-6-PDH and AP.

This research deals with the relationship between cinema and ethical-aesthetic education; we dialogue with narratives of experience, from subjects that maintain relational practices with cinema, at first as film viewers. The empirical corpus consists of interviews, from which the narratives in question bring to surface views, meaning effects, considerations, prospects and valuations on the practice of watching movies and cinematic experimentation, as well as the ramifications of these movements in the very life of each participant. It is observed and problematized, in the description of the practices, its extensive and intensive processing, and the ways in which cinematographic experimentation constitutes itself as grounds for subjectivity and learning, the educational potential of cinema, which involves the notion of formation. It is thought, based mainly in the later thoughts of Michel Foucault, in the cultivation of such practices and what happens in them in them filmic experimentation, the presence of an exercise of the subject on itself, which in turn is arranged with a procedural movement of self formation, as a practice of freedom. It's also inspiring the thoughts of Gilles Deleuze, especially in relation to the notions of meeting and event, and the way it understands experimentation, and yet the thought of Alain Badiou, to discuss the cinema as philosophical experimentation. In the face of the empirical narratives, and with the theoretical framework used, cinema is elevated to the condition of self practice, in that it operates with ethical and aesthetic modulations, from which we infer the relevance of this study in the field of education.

Costurando geometrias. Experimental testing on different search equalMiriam Andraus Pappalardo 29 April 2015 (has links)
Through the construction of parametric and dynamic systems, the purpose of this research isto achieve an experimental study based on possibilities of generative forms and the analysis of their variations. The inspiration is to pursue the principie of mutation (concept that comes from the context of natural sciences and studies of the biological spectrum), that introduce interesting resources to the development of methodologies, when incorporated to creative process, teaching and project in itself, regarding the universe of architecture and design. This research also supports the relevancy of analogic and empirical craftwork, as strategy and procedure, in favour of knowledge construction, the mechanical (and organic) action of the hand, as an instrument that feeds the mind and opens possibilities of intervention and comprehension of processes. The work is sustained by the proposition of derivations based on rules (arbitrary or randomized). lnitially, some \"impositions\" are pre-determined, later released, or questioned, giving room to the development of other/new variables. Actions/decisions that operate as devices, suggesting variable patterns but assuring certain contrai, organization and system. Manipulating three-dimensionally, lines, plans and volumes, it is possible to experiment geometrical forms that unfold in space. Making use of diverse materiais and technics, like fabric, ceramic and casting. The process starts with (flexible) geometric modules, cut out of fabric and sewed together. Some of these volumes were immersed in liquid parcela in and fired in a ceramic kiln, others were immersed in resin, latex, o r wax, a unique piece was cast in bronze. Testing limits and materiality, we can investigate inflections and deformations, vestiges and physical memory. Relations/actions are understood between the two-dimensional (original flat shape) and each resulting topology. The process simultaneously establishes and corrupts systems, observing how each form suggests, foretells or reveals itself in a different one. Disclose and determinate relations, considering what remains or perseveres and what is transformed, what settles and what changes, allowing the construction of a possible lineage, or the becoming of some kind of new gender. No previous expectation of a final outcome is given and the quest for a specific target is not the main goal.

Palavra cítricaJacques, Carmen January 2011 (has links)
Resumir não posso. Um sabor, um gesto, uma atmosfera. Como? É fácil quando a palavra é reta e o pensamento, estreito. Mas aqui? Me deixei levar sem saber de mim. Fantasia pura. Devorei livros, autores, textos, teoria. E o que mais rolou. Triturei tudo. Misturei tudo. Devolvi tudo. Talvez não reconheçam. Uns são outros. Nada restou como era. Mordi a língua. Engoli sapos. Vomitei cobras e lagartos. Tudo cítrico e crocante. Gelato al limone. Foi o que quis fazer. O objetivo, como se dizia. Foi o que saiu. O resultado, como se dizia. Resumir? Não posso. Mas se insistem. / To write an abstract? Impossible, I would say. A taste, an air, an atmosphere. How to do it? It is easy when the word is linear and the thought narrow. But here? I just surrendered myself no matter what. Pure imagination. But if you insist. They insist on a dance of linguistics and philosophy of the act. The act in the word, said in another way, one shot. I devoured books, texts, theories. And what else came my way. I ground everything. I blended everything. I gave back everything. You probably will not recognize it. What was one thing became another. Nothing is the same. I bit my tongue. I swallowed what I do not know. What I threw up you do not want to know. Everything citric and crunchy. Gelato al limone. That‟s what I wanted to do. The aim, as they used to say. That‟s what came out. The results, as they used to say. To write an abstract? Impossible, I would say. But if you insist.
