Den Indiska Demonetariseringens Påverkan på Identitet och Politiskt Deltagande : – En Fältstudie i det Rurala Karnataka / The Effects of the Indian Demonetisation on Identity and Political Participation : – A Field Study Conducted in the Rural Part of Karnataka

Gottfredsson, Jens, Landberg, Ludvig January 2017 (has links)
This thesis purpose has been to investigate how the demonetisation in India has affected the political participation and the rural identity in a rural part of Karnataka. The demonetisation in this thesis has been connected to globalisation and show how the globalisation expresses on the rural locality. This has been done by a field study in a rural part of Karnataka that contained direct observations and six focus-group interviews that has been analysed with qualitative methodology. The rural identity has been operationalised to three indicators; caste-identity, family and gender-identity and political-identity. Our results shows that the rural identity has been somewhat affected by the demonetisation and globalisation. The political participation has not been affected. However there are tendencies that the demonetisation might transform the political participation in the future. Our findings also suggest that the urban have moved further away from the rural towards the global due to the demonetisation. Due to the increased distance between the rural and urban, the rural identity has become more independent.

Climate Litigation, Human Rights & Intergenerational Justice

Herrmann, Julian Robert January 2023 (has links)
The progression of climate change has brought the issue of intergenerational justice further into focus. At the same time, there has been a global increase in climate litigation. Activists increasingly use litigation and fundamental and human rights as instruments to enforce their demands for intergenerational justice. This thesis, therefore, focuses on the question of whether climate litigation can transform intergenerational justice from a political norm into a human rights-based, justiciable right.  Previous studies identified a human-rights turn in climate litigation. In addition, other studies revealed that climate activists are increasingly using intergenerational framing. However, the relationship between intergenerational justice and human rights is understudied.  This thesis addresses the existing research gap. Utilizing a mechanism-based account, the legal framing and the legal interpretation of the Neubauer case, decided by the German Federal Constitutional Court are analyzed to show the transformation of intergenerational justice into a matter of human rights. Moreover, climate litigation cases at the ECtHR are analyzed whether they contain references to Neubauer to identify indicators for a precedent-setting effect upon the supranational human rights framework of ECHR. This thesis demonstrates the importance of climate litigation as a policy tool in national and international climate governance.

Suicide in Lithuania : The Consequences of the De-Sovietization Process in-between 2000 and 2019

Teixeira, André January 2023 (has links)
Lithuania and its neighboring countries have experienced a persistent and significant issue of high suicide rates since the early 1990s. This ongoing problem remains a pressing concern for Lithuania, as it ranks seventh among nations with the highest mortality rates resulting from suicide worldwide. The objective of this study is to examine the historical and socio-cultural context of wars and invasions, as well as the effects of the de-sovietization process in the Baltic States region, and their potential lasting implications in contemporary times. Utilizing key indicators, including GDP, Gini Coefficient, and Alcohol Consumption, to gain insights into the socio-economic developments that Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia experienced between the years 2000 and 2019. These indicators serve as important metrics for understanding the potential impacts and changes that occurred in Lithuania during this period.

Globalisering och den Svenska Skolvärlden : Politiska och internationella influenser över utbildning och hur globalisering som fenomen kan behandlas i klassrummet.

Högström Hadfy, Rickard January 2019 (has links)
Globalization is a fascinating concept mostly because of its influence on the world and the systems within it. The external factors in the surrounding world can make any country adapt to new ways of thinking. This effect has come to impact how education works and evolves and in what way education should persist. The educational sector in Sweden is no exception to globalizations effects on how its systems work and what should be thought of it. How this phenomenon, globalization, is met by the students and the public mostly depends on how it is presented by the media and educators. Moreover we can see that there is a need for continuous education of teachers and development of their skills for them to stay up to date and face globalization on the world arena. Be-cause of this we can see politics getting involved in the educational system to be able to maintain control over its development, this involves both economical and ideological views. The presented subjects in this abstract is what the coming essay will explore. Some effects of these external factor could be and how teachers should work with globalization as a phenomenon!

”Det är inte svårt att älska Europa. Men det är riktigt svårt att älska EU.” : En kvalitativ innehållsanalys av Sverigedemokraternas framställning av Europeiska Unionen mellan två Europaparlamentsval. / It is not difficult to love Europe. But it is really hard to love the EU”. : A qualitative content analysis of the Sweden Democrats’ presentation of the European Union between two European elections.

Karlsson, Sandra, Lundin, Irma January 2019 (has links)
