Previous issue date: 2006 / Resumo: O objetivo desta pesquisa é reconstruir alguns aspectos da trajetória intelectual de Gilberto Freyre no período compreendido entre o final dos anos 20 e o final dos anos 50, especialmente referidos à sistematização de suas idéias sociológicas. O ponto de partida da análise é a sua experiência docente na Escola Normal de Pernambuco durante os anos de 1929 e 1930, quando o autor reuniu as primeiras ferramentas conceituais a partir das quais foi possível produzir sua singular interpretação da sociedade brasileira e consagrar os estudos sociológicos no meio intelectual brasileiro. Em seguida, investigamos sua experiência docente na Universidade do Distrito Federal entre os anos de 1935 e 1937. Trata-se da única experiência em que o autor permaneceu, de forma mais ou menos estável, nos quadros de uma instituição de ensino superior brasileiro. A análise dos manuscritos de suas aulas permite compreender o sentido das suas idéias naquele período. Por fim, apresentamos uma análise das duas primeiras edições do compêndio Sociologia: uma introdução aos seus princípios, publicado pela primeira vez em 1945, um livro singular no conjunto da obra do autor, resultante de experiência docente nas duas instituições acima referidas. Na reconstrução desta trajetória - que compreende desde a artesania de suas idéias sociológicas até ambiência social e política que serviu de substrato para sua atividade intelectual - constatamos as diferentes expectativas de que a ciência sociológica foi depositária no Brasil / Abstract: This research aims at reconstructing some aspects of Gilberto Freyre¿s intellectual trajectory between the late 1920s and the late 1950s, with a focus on the systematization of his sociological ideas. The analysis starts with his teaching experience at the Pernambuco¿s Normal School in 1929-1930, when the author produced his first conceptual tools that enabled him to produce his particular interpretation of Brazilian society, consolidating at he same time sociological studies. Following this his teaching experience at the Federal District¿s University, between 1935-1937, is investigated. It was the only experience Freyre had as a fixed member of the faculty of a Brazilian university. The analysis of the manuscripts from his classes allows for a comprehension of his ideas in that period. An investigation of the first two editions of his compedium Sociologia: uma introdução aos seus princípios (Sociology: an introduction to its principles), first published in 1945, is presented at last. This was a singular book in his trajectory, resulting from teaching experience at the above mentioned institutions. In the process of reconstructing Freyre¿s trajectory ¿ including the crafting of his sociological ideas and the social and political context that served as a basis for his intelectual activity ¿ one notices the different expectations one had on Sociology in Brazil / Doutorado / Doutor em Sociologia

Ma thèse s'intéresse à la théorie financière de l'entreprise qui émerge entre 1880 et 1929, ainsi qu’à l’apport de Veblen.Tout d'abord nous mettons en exergue les contributions analytique et macroéconomique que livre Veblen concernant la business enterprise. Il met en avant un triptyque crédit-actions-goodwill grâce auquel nous affirmons qu'il est un théoricien "pré-moderne" de la finance d'entreprise. Sa vision du goodwill lui permet de dresser une théorie de l'investissement qui s'ancre dans la filiation de la Q-Theory. Il propose ainsi un regard pionnier sur le management d'entreprise, avec son analyse du comportement de l'insider et de l'outsider. Dans un second temps, à travers un travail d'archives et une investigation dans les premiers manuels de finance d'entreprise, nous présentons une lecture de l'émergence de cette discipline académique, issue de la pratique des grandes entreprises. Un premier vocabulaire et les premières théories émergent. Par ailleurs, un débat plus large prend place concernant l'éducation aux Etats-Unis et l'institutionnalisation de l'enseignement des affaires dans la higher education, auquel Veblen prend part. / My PhD dissertation focuses on the theory of the corporate finance that emerged between 1880 and 1929, as well as the contribution of Veblen.First, we highlight Veblen’s analytical and macroeconomic contributions to the business enterprise. He highlights a trinity credit-equity-goodwill by which we assert that he is a "pre-modern" theorist of corporate finance. His vision of goodwill allows him to draw up a theory of investment that is rooted in the affiliation of the Q-Theory. It thus offers a pioneering look at the management of an enterprise, with its analysis of the behavior of the insider and the outsider.Secondly, through an archival work and an investigation into the first corporate finance manuals, we present a reading of the emergence of this academic discipline, resulting from the practice of large companies. A first vocabulary and the first theories emerge. In addition, there is a wider debate about education in the United States and the institutionalization of business education in higher education, in which Veblen takes part.

Avhandlingen beskriver och analyserar hur frågor kring tillgänglighet/handikapp för första gången aktualiserades och implementerades i planeringen och utformningen av den byggda miljön i Aten, nämligen processen i samband med beslut, planering och implementering av jätteprojektet Atens Metro. Studien tecknar framväxten av olika handikapporganisationer, som från att ha varit svaga aktörer successivt lyckades få gehör för sina krav inom stadens förvaltning, politiska organ, den grekiska riksdagen och inte minst inom de företag som byggde metrosystemet. Avhandlingen diskuterar hur handikapporganisationer och metrosystemet växte fram och påverkade varandra, hur viktiga forum för att diskutera/problematisera olika perspektiv på handikapp skapades där aktörsgrupper med delvis olika intressen förde fram sina ståndpunkter och förhandlade samt vilka konkreta avtryck som dessa processer ledde till i form av en - slutligen - handikappvänlig teknisk konfiguration av metrosystemet. Studien knyter också an till den europeiska diskussionen, bl.a. inom EU, kring handikapp och vilken betydelse som denna diskussion hade för det framväxande metroprojektet, inte minst inför Atens OS-värdskap 2004. Avhandlingen tar sin teoretiska utgångspunkt i dels samhällsvetenskapliga teknik- och vetenskapsstudier, dels "disability studies". / The idea of building a metro network in Athens dates back to the 1950s. It took almost fifty years for the Greek government to develop plans, secure funds and to carry out an effective procurement process for the construction of the Athens metro. In February 1987 the government announced an invitation to tender for the design and construction of the metro. Thirteen years later, in January 2000 the first two lines began operation. The construction of the metro consisted of numerous preliminary studies, different public organizations which dealt with its development and several controversies concerning its design. One of these controversies referred to the issue whether the metro would be accessible to disabled people or not. Integrating accessibility provisions in the metro design constituted a controversial issue where different actors argued and acted for and against its implementation. This study describes and analyses the process of making the metro accessible. The analysis focuses on how questions regarding accessibility/disability were actualized for the first time in the planning and design of the Greek built environment and in particular on the process of building the biggest and most complicated infrastructure project in Greece, the Athens metro. At the same time, the study describes the evolution of disability organizations in Greece: they changed from being weak actors who were unable to influence socio-political configurations to actors that successively gained attention within the public administration, political organs, the Greek Parliament and the company that constructed the metro. The study discusses how disability organizations and the metro were developed and influenced each other and how important forums, where several actors with diverse interests problematized and produced different perspectives on disability, were initiated. These forums constituted public spaces within the public administration and eventually contributed to the construction of an accessible metro network. The analysis is also connected to Athens hosting of the Olympic and Paralympic Games of 2004 which created increasing demands for constructing an accessible built environment, including the metro. Furthermore, the study also draws upon the discussion within the EU on disability and on which kind of consequences this discussion implied for the developing metro. The theoretical basis for this study is located at the intersection of two broad fields, namely science and technology studies (S&TS) and disability studies.

sobre doação de livros às escolas públicas, documento manuscrito que compõe o acervo do
Arquivo Público do Estado da Bahia, e contém os títulos dos manuais didáticos doados às
escolas públicas da Bahia, entre os anos de 1837 e 1868. A coleção de Correspondências
sobre doação de livros às escolas públicas do Arquivo Público do Estado da Bahia é bastante
rica e diversa. A pesquisa além de possibilitar o acesso aos títulos dos manuais que
circulavam nas escolas naquele momento histórico e que, consequentemente, concorriam para
a aprendizagem e difusão da escrita, contribui para o enriquecimento dos estudos voltados
para a compreensão da consolidação e desenvolvimento da instrução pública baiana nesse
período. Objetiva-se, portanto, desvelar aspectos importantes do cenário da instrução pública
baiana oitocentista, a partir da construção de uma narrativa que apresente a política de doação
de livros às escolas públicas de acordo com as informações reveladas na Coleção de
correspondências sobre doação. Para isso, são observados os princípios e procedimentos do
paradigma indiciário, que é um método heurístico focado nos detalhes, nas pistas que são
deixadas, nesse caso, no documento que á principal fonte de investigação. O referencial
teórico é pautado na relação entre a História Cultural em diálogo com a História da Educação
e a História da Cultura Escrita. Pode-se caracterizar a presente pesquisa como histórica, já que
investiga uma mudança ocorrida na sociedade, ainda que visando à investigação de assuntos
educacionais. / ABSTRACT This study is based on the collection of data from the Correspondências recebidas sobre
doação de livros às escolas públicas, handwritten document which belongs to Arquivo
Público do Estado da Bahia, containing the titles of didactic handbooks donated to the public
schools of Bahia, between 1837 and 1868. The collection of correspondences about donation
of books to the public schools of Arquivo Público do Estado da Bahia is very rich and varied.
The research besides granting access to the titles of the manuals that circulated in schools at
that historical period and that, consequently, concurred for the learning and spread of writing,
contributes to the strengthening of the studies towards the comprehension of the consolidation
and development of Bahia public instruction at that time. Therefore, the objective is to unveil
important aspects of the scenario of Bahia public instruction of the nineteenth century, based
on the construction of a narrative that shows the policy of book donation to the public schools
according to the information gathered from the Collection of correspondences about
donation. For this purpose, the principles and proceedings of the indiciary paradigm, heuristic
method focusing the details, clues left, in this case, on the document which is the main source
of the investigation are observed. The theoretical references are based on the relation between
Cultural History in dialog with History of Education and History of Written Culture. It’s
possible to characterize this research as historical, for it investigates a change in society, even
if it aims to investigate education affairs.
