No. of bitstreams: 1 000383319-Texto+Completo-0.pdf: 672827 bytes, checksum: 37385692151ff0a98235e5a6a719ef05 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2006 / The present study consists of an analysis of the most renowned literary production in the contemporary cultural scene: the books of the Harry Potter series, written by Joanne Kathleen Rowling. This dissertation, thus, aims to reflect upon the possibilities of the influence played by image contents, present in the book, in the formation of children’s imaginary. The investigation, which departs from Jung’s postulates on the role played by fundamental images in the unconscious, and from Vigotski’s statements on the reception of the literary work, departs from both a review of the child character in children’s literature, both in the past and nowadays, and a contextualization of the post-modern moment.

Afonso, Joseline Caramelo January 2016 (has links)

The tasks were designed under Skehan's (1996, 1998) frameworks for task analysis and implementation, and their respective teaching procedures, which followed the pedagogical principles of the task-based approach (Ellis, 2003), with the purpose of preparing students to read the first chapter of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone' (Rowling, 1999). Furthermore, the tasks also took into consideration the themes brought in PCNLE(1998), the concept of focus on form (Ellis, 2012; Long,1991), which lies at the core of task-based lessons, Long's (2015) needs analysis concept, and the elements of planning by Fosterand Skehan (1996; 1999) and repetition by Bygate (2001). The seventeen teenage EFL learners from Colégio de Aplicação, who attended fourteen classes, answered post-task questionnaires at the end of each class and took part in an interview in the end ofthe task cycle. All data collected was submitted to qualitative analysis. The results showed that, for this group of teenage EFL learners, TBA was perceived as effective in promoting learning opportunities, and that the cycle of tasks was indeed successful in leading them to read the first chapter of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone". Moreover, participants' perceptions reflect the teaching principles of TBA as well as the elements, procedures and concepts of the theoretical frameworks used to guide the development and implementation of the cycle of tasks, such as focus on meaning and tasks' resemblance to real world. Results also showed that (1) Skehan's frameworks are resourceful in balancing the task level of difficulty and the learners' attention between meaning and form; (2) adding games to the cycle of tasks was motivational and important in students' perspective; and (3) planning and repetition should be seen in more dynamic ways than what it is proposed within the frames so as to meet the needs and demands of the complexity of the classroom environment.

Johansson, Emelie, Wallberg, Lina January 2018 (has links)

The goal was to relate musical structures to phenomena of light and shadow that inspired these works, as well as aesthetically and historically situate the resources involved in this representation. The work of Harry Crowl makes a strong allusion to the visible with a musical language that is the synthesis of several references. First, its language is contextualized within postmodernism front of the most striking features of concert music in the second half of the century. In a second moment, considerations ball visible in music brings relationships between sound, color, light and texture. Subsequently, a survey on musical representation of light and shadow throughout history shows strategies used by other composers. Finally, through interviews with the composer, a study on the genesis of the cycle in question works and musical analysis with emphasis on texture attempts to uncover the structures involved in the musical depiction of light and shadow.

Severus Snape and the Concept of the Outsider : Aspects of Good and Evil in the Harry Potter Series

Dahlén, Nova January 2009 (has links)
The concept of outsiders has been argued to be one of the main themes in childhood fairy tales in general and in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter novels in particular. Severus Snape is one of the most evident outsider characters in the novels, described as an unpleasant, ugly man presented as a double agent with uncertain allegiances. When the truth is revealed, in the very last pages of the series, he is discovered to have been an undercover spy for the good side all along. This essay examines Snape as an outsider, and analyzes his effect on the novel, especially his relation to the three characters with whom he interacts most: Dumbledore, Voldemort and Harry. All three of these characters are main characters and are also outsiders themselves in different ways. Examining the relations between good and evil and showing that these concepts are closely tied to choices and reactions towards being an outsider, the essay argues that the analysis of Snape as an outsider helps distinguish between aspects of good and evil in the novel. By focusing on Snape and the concept of the outsider, different dimensions of the novels become visible. Snape is here an instrumental character on his own, and may well be seen as the main character. Although the series in some aspects has been described as a fairy tale, the complex character of Severus Snape gives the novels a further depth appealing not only to children, but to adults as well.

Qvarnström, Julia January 2016 (has links)
