Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / Com o objetivo de investigar as relações da comunicação com o espaço urbano, a presente dissertação se debruça sobre o bairro de Marechal Hermes, localizado na zona norte do Rio de Janeiro. Parte da abordagem da história cultural para refletir sobre as cidades, como propõe Sandra Pesavento, buscando perceber a urbe em suas três dimensões: materialidade, sociabilidade e sensibilidade. O primeiro aspecto atribui relevância ao fato de Marechal Hermes ser um bairro centenário, com uma morfologia singular boa parte do seu traçado e arquitetura originais são ainda mantidos, a despeito das interferências dos usuários. Assim, o bairro acumula diferentes registros, guardando uma memória de múltiplas temporalidades e possibilidades narrativas. A sociabilidade no bairro se manifesta nas práticas de ocupação do espaço e numa convivência cotidiana que se estabelece em relações diretas laços familiares, de amizade, vizinhança mas também em interações que se dão pelas redes de tecnologia e comunicação. Há uma tessitura de vozes consonantes e dissonantes, que não excluem divergências e tensões, mas focalizam sempre o sentido do comum. Tais redes de relações se complementam com as imagens construídas pelo cinema e pela TV, uma vez que o bairro tem sido cenário frequente de inúmeras produções da indústria audiovisual, como filmes, novelas e seriados. Veiculadas na grande mídia e consumidas de maneira peculiar pelos moradores, essas imagens se integram a um imaginário partilhado que legitima o valor do lugar distinguindo sua materialidade e seu espírito. Com um olhar de dentro, buscando sempre a perspectiva dos moradores, manifesta-se neste trabalho passado e presente, num instantâneo de Marechal Hermes que perscruta o futuro em novos sonhos para o lugar

Cette thèse a pour vocation de dresser un catalogue exhaustif des hermès à portrait provenant des provinces occidentales de l’empire romain afin d’appréhender toute la richesse sémantique de ce support figuré original. Disposés depuis l’époque archaïque aux carrefours et aux portes des villes grecques, les piliers hermaïques deviennent, sous l’impulsion des Romains, le support de véritables portraits et non plus uniquement celui d’effigies divines. Deux catégories iconographiques émergent, les portraits rétrospectifs restituant les traits de personnages historiques fameux tels Homère ou Ménandre, et ceux de particuliers, parfois dédiés à leur Genius et élevés dans l’atrium de leur demeure. Au-delà de la nécessaire analyse stylistique et iconographique du corpus, cette étude a pour ambition de donner une lecture historico-culturelle du phénomène et de rendre compte de la mise en œuvre concrète de ces hermès, depuis l’atelier jusqu’aux lieux où ils sont exposés. Leur remise en contexte doit permettre de dresser un tableau des acteurs de cette pratique de dédicace, des personnages représentés, des motifs présidant au choix de ces images abrégées et de la place qu’elles occupent dans l’espace privé des villas romaines, dans le cadre du culte domestique comme dans celui de l’otium. / This study aspires to acheive a catalog of portrait herms in the Roman West in order to apprehend the semantic meaning of this original figurative support. Erected since achairc times by the crossroads and doors of greek cities, herms become, under roman influence, pedestals for portraits and not only representations of divinity. Those portraits can be divided into two iconographical categories : retrospective ones reproducing features of historical figures such as Homer and Menander, and those of private citizens, sometimes dedicated to their Genius and raised in the atrium of their house. More than a simple stylistical and iconographical analysis of this corpus, this study tries to give an historical and cultural reading of thoses sculptures, from the workshop to their exhibition contexts. This approach must allow the depiction of all the actors involved in thoses dedications, the clarification of thematic choices as of the reasons for choosing these abbreviated images, the definition of their place in the private space of the Roman villas in the context of domestic cults or that of the otium.

Symbols connect our deepest thoughts with our senses. This thesis explores the Alchemical symbols, developed by mythical deity Hermes Trismegistus, whose symbols remnant of geometric shapes represent the classical elements of Earth, Water, Fire and Air. Watercolor, graphite, and gesso are my primary materials as they can be manipulated by the classical element of water. With this, I can create representations of the symbols through the language of drawing. A presente tese consiste numa investigação teórica-experimental quali-quantitativa de caráter interdisciplinar, que busca compreender de que maneira combinações de perfis de alunos, baseado na sua própria avaliação de comportamento psicológico (perfis de autorrelatos) esperança, autoestima e autoeficácia, são mais adequadas na promoção da aprendizagem colaborativa mais efetiva, assim como no desenvolvimento de um modelo de tecnologia baseado em agentes, denominado Sistema-Multiagente Hermes (SMAHermes), capaz de apoiar a formação otimizada de grupos para a aprendizagem colaborativa. A metodologia de pesquisa contempla três experimentos realizados no AVEA MOODLE/CINTED/UFRGS, a partir dos quais valida-se o modelo SMA-Hermes concebido. A amostra utilizada nos experimentos foi composta de trinta e seis alunos (faixa etária média de dezoito anos), do curso de Engenharia de Computação, da Universidade Estadual do Maranhão (UEMA), referente às disciplinas de Matemática Discreta e Estrutura de Dados Avançados. Considerando os perfis de autorrelatos dos alunos, composições de grupos de forma aleatória (randômica), pelo sistema (a partir da formação desejada pelo professor) e livre (os alunos escolhem seus próprios pares) foram testadas Variáveis como PMOA (Pontuação Máxima Obtida na Atividade), TRA (Tempo de Realização da Atividade) e PCGj (Potencial de Colaboração de Grupo) foram criadas, de modo a expressarem ou predizerem os comportamentos colaborativos dos grupos. Ao final dos experimentos foi aplicado um teste sociométrico com o objetivo de identificar afinidades sociais em função dos perfis de autorrelatos esperança, autoestima e autoeficácia dos alunos. Os resultados se mostram satisfatórios em relação à melhoria dos desempenhos de grupos em contextos de aprendizagem colaborativa quando se considera a tupla (PCGj; PMOA). Constatou-se, também, através dos resultados, que os melhores desempenhos de grupos colaborativos foram alcançados através de formações de grupos de forma aleatória, ressaltando que mesmo o mínimo desempenho de grupo obtido por meio desta formação ainda assim foi positivo. Do teste sociométrico aplicado, pode-se extrair características preponderantes dos pares afins, de forma que estas informações auxiliem no desenvolvimento de um modelo ontológico de colaboração e assim apoiar na definição de Papéis do aluno Vs. Perfis de autorrelatos para contextos de aprendizagem colaborativa. / This thesis consists of a theoretical-experimental quali-quantitative research that seeks to understand how combinations of student profiles, based on their own evaluation of psychological behavior (self-report profiles), hope, self-esteem and self-efficacy, are more suitable in promoting more effective collaborative learning, as well as in the development of an agent-based technology model, called Hermes Multi-Agent System (Hermes-MAS), capable of supporting the optimized groups formation for collaborative learning. The research methodology includes three experiments carried out in MOODLE / CINTED / UFRGS VLE, from which the conceived Hermes-MAS model is validated. The sample used in the experiments was composed of thirty-six students (18 years of average age range), from the State University of Maranhão (UEMA), all of which were attending the same Discrete Mathematics and Advanced Data Structure classes. Considering the students self-report profiles, group compositions in a random system (based on the teacher's desired formation) and free (where students chose their own peers) were tested Variables such as MSOA (Maximal Score Obtained in the Activity), ART (Activity Realization Time) and GCPj (Group Collaboration Potential) were established in order to express or predict the group’s collaborative behaviors. At the end of the experiments, a sociometric test was applied with the objective of identifying social affinities according to the self-report profiles hope, self-esteem and self-efficacy of the students. The results are satisfactory in relation to the improvement of group performances in collaborative learning contexts when considering the tuple (GCPj; MSOA). It was also verified through the results that the best performances of collaborative groups were achieved through group formations in a random manner, emphasizing that even the minimal group performance obtained through this training was still positive. From the applied sociometric test, one can extract preponderant characteristics of the related pairs, so that this information helps in the development of an ontological model of collaboration and thus supports the definition of Student roles Vs. Self-report profiles for collaborative learning contexts.

Background International trade has dramatically increased during the last half of the 20th century and it is now of significant importance to most eco-nomies. International trade is especially crucial to countries such as Sweden, with a small domestic market. It has been said that a com-pany needs to have a committed management, as well as a strategy for it’s export and it’s marketing to reach long-term success. Never-theless, companies sometimes use a “strategy of least involvement”, leaving the international marketing strategy decisions in the hands of foreign agents and distributors. Purpose The purpose with this thesis is to investigate how the export and marketing strategies have been developed and implemented by suc-cessful Swedish export companies. Method Winners of the Export-Hermes Prize and Stora Exportpriset have been used as a sample of successful export companies. Qualitative semi-structured interviews with four of them were conducted to col-lect the empirical data. Conclusion The export companies in this study showed great differences con-cerning their original export ambitions, the methods they used to se-lect foreign markets, the modes that they used to enter new markets and the pace in which the international expansions were carried out. There were however strong similarities between the successful ex-port companies in other areas. All four companies had owners and top management who had been, and in most cases still were, highly involved and driving forces in the export activities. The companies also shared a belief in working with clear goals and having a strict control over subsidiaries and intermediaries. The authors are of the opinion that this control and monitoring are crucial for the success of the implementation of the export and marketing strategies.
