Swedish Homeowners’ Renovation Plans and Interest in a ‘One-Stop Shop’ / Swedish Homeowners’ Renovation Plans and Interest in a ‘One-Stop Shop’

Jawad, Muhammad January 2021 (has links)
In this article, we analyse the factors influencing homeowners' plans to renovate their houses in the near future. We also examine their interest in the idea of a one-stop shop where a single actor provides services and all necessary information required for energy efficiency renovations. Our analysis is based on the content of an online survey questionnaire of 12194 homeowners in Sweden. Approximately 83% of the respondents intend to renovate in the near future, with around 55% opting for energy-efficient renovation of their dwelling. Environmental concerns, past energy-saving measures taken by the respondents, and education positively influenced their renovation plans. While 28% of respondents expressed their interest in a one-stop shop, work guarantee, environmental concerns and renovation plans were the main elements affecting interest in the one-stop shop.

Al-Wandi, Karar January 2023 (has links)
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify problems and shortcomings in the process of building permits from the perspective of small house owners in Stockholm. The purpose of this study is also to present future improvements. Methods: The method for this study contains both literature study and a case study. The case study consisted of a digital survey and interviews with small house owners and with the municipality´s building permit department. The digital survey consisted of questions about previous experiences of the building permit process to then investigate where there are shortcomings and weaknesses. Results: The results gave a wider perspective of how the small house owners experience the building permit process and how the municipality works through challenges and improves the process. The digital survey showed that several were dissatisfied with the processing time and experienced it as a long period. The respondents also experienced it as a difficulty when it comes to submitting correct documents requested by the municipality and that there are high building permit fees. A concrete improvement measure is that Stockholm municipality clarifies the building permit process steps regarding processing times and other weaknesses that arise on the website. Conclusions: The conclusion of this work is that Stockholm municipality updates the website, so that applicants with less knowledge and experience regarding building permits can get a better idea and possibly follow the schedule and budget they planned for the project. To avoid damage caused by damp during the project, it is possible to undergo a so-called moisture safety design. Stockholm municipality can introduce more employees within the building permit department to be prepared for periods where there is high pressure in building permit matters.

Att lägga guld på taken : Energikrisen som drivkraft för förnybara energikällor: en fallstudie i Trelleborg / Mining gold on roofs : The energy crisis as a driving force for renewable energy: a case study in Trelleborg, Sweden

Hansson, Amanda, Säljö, Amanda January 2023 (has links)
The energy crisis and climate change have made the implementation of renewable energy sources crucial to reducing carbon dioxide emissions. Homeowners account for a significant portion of the electricity consumption, and understanding their attitudes and behavior is of great importance to promote the implementation of renewable energy sources. The purpose of the study was to gain an understanding of how the energy crisis has affected the view of renewable energy and why the energy crisis has contributed to affecting the view of renewable energy, with a focus among house owners in Trelleborg municipality. The study also aims to identify measures to further promote the implementation of renewable energy. The method consisted of a case study based on grounded theory. The data was collected through interviews and secondary data. The results of the study showed that while the energy crisis led to a somewhat increased positive image and increased interest in renewable energy sources, there was an increased awareness regarding energy consumption in general and that homeowners were looking for ways to reduce their energy consumption. In particular, it appeared that the main motivation to engage in energy measures was economic in nature due to the energy crisis leading to high electricity prices, but that injunctive norms and lack of knowledge played a role in how renewable energy sources were viewed. The conclusions that were drawn were that individuals prioritize financial gains over the environment and that they can be guided by societal pressures that can shape ignorance and lead to rushed decisions in relation to renewable energy. To promote the adoption of renewable energy sources and increase positive attitudes, efforts are needed that include financial incentives, information campaigns and education.
