Estima de lugar e implicaÃÃes com a saÃde: a perspectiva dos usuÃrios de um Centro de SaÃde do Nordeste do Brasil / Estimate of place and health implications: the perspective of users of a Health Center in the Northeast of Brazil

Elcides Hellen Ferreira Landim Barreto 18 May 2017 (has links)
The present study aims to analyze the esteem of place of citizen-users of a Family Health Center in the Northeast of Brazil and its implications for health. It also seeks to identify affections in the people who use the Family Health Center, which may or may not involve them in a healthy lifestyle, as well as their perceptions about healthy living. The understanding of environmental and human health issues as well as those arising from this relationship are still limited. Thus, it is important and urgent that studies be developed to provide effective ways of understanding and, consequently, intervening in the problems arising from this field. With this aim in mind, this work starts from the fields of Social Psychology, Environmental Psychology and Collective Health of historical-cultural approach to think about the relationships between affectivity, esteem of place and health promotion. In this way, the objective of this study is to broaden these discussions by presenting the esteem of place (BOMFIM, 2010) as a dimension of health, and the implications of a healthy way of life based on the understanding of the subjects-users of Basic Health Care. In order to do so, the IGMA (Affective Maps Generator Instrument) was used in this research to identify the esteem of place of the subjects, and a semi-structured interview to understand the implication with a healthy lifestyle with 41 citizens-users of the Family Health Center Sao Gerardo in Ico (CE). With this study it was possible to identify that the lifestyle considered healthy by the subjects is dictated by technocratic, utilitarian and scientificist logic, in which specific scientific knowledge overlaps popular knowledge as the only one possible. However, the esteem of place of the citizens-users of the health unit proves to be potential and indicative of involvement with the healthy way of life. Thus, it is perceived that although the healthy life is not the result of the autonomy of the subjects, once the relationship between the citizen and the healthy way of life occurs through passivity, the affections related to it are not generators of servitude, but rather, of pleasantness and belonging, therefore full of potential. Thus, it is concluded that health education, as it has been put into practice, has promoted the involvement of the subjects with a healthy way of life, however, not in an emancipatory and autonomous way, but rather in a passive way through the following of a lifestyle prescribed by the ideological power apparatus. With this research, it is hoped to foster an ethical-political discussion that contributes to strengthen the actions of the Family Health Strategy, enabling greater participation of citizens and effectiveness in the implementation of the actions proposed in the National Policy for Health Promotion (PNPS) in order to promote a healthy lifestyle which reveals the autonomy and emancipation of the subjects.

"Estudo prospectivo do comprometimento linfonodal do câncer do reto distal. Comparação entre linfocintilografia e tomografia pélvica" / RECTAL NEOPLASMS/radionuclide imaging, LYMPH NODES, TOMOGRAPHY

Todinov, Lilian Ramos 02 December 2005 (has links)
They were studied prospectivamente the lymph nodes, in 19 patient with adenocarcinoma of distal rectum through pelvic tomography and pelvic lymphoscintigraphy and accomplished the comparative study of the methods, having as based to the pathological anatomy and the staging practise-surgical. It compared the exams to each other obtaining itself that the methods are not concordant. And the lymphoscintigraphy is more sensitive method for lymph nodes than for

Strategies to Reduce Employee Turnover to Increase Profitability in a College Workplace

Lewis-Wilson, Cremaya Pariscene 01 January 2019 (has links)
Employee turnover disrupts organizational functioning, service delivery, and administration. The purpose of this qualitative single case study was to explore strategies that some college administrators used to reduce employee turnover in the workplace to increase profitability. The population for the study included 3 administrators in a senior (4-year) college in the southeastern region of the United States who developed and implemented successful strategies to reduce employee turnover. Data were collected from semistructured interviews with college administrators and from publicly available organizational documents. Transformational leadership was the conceptual framework for this study. Data analysis included inductive analysis guided by transformational leadership theory and member checking. Five themes emerged from data analysis including transformational leadership, incentives and rewards, training/career development, establishing trust/employee empowerment, and effective communication. The implications of these findings for social change may benefit students, faculty, and administrators of educational institutions. The findings may enhance consistent and superior educational course delivery to students, improve collaboration between educators and administrators through effective hiring practices to raise the caliber of educator skillsets, and reduce the percent of unemployed as a result of students succeeding in higher education and gaining meaningful employment. The findings may help reduce financial insecurity and improve the living standards of people in the community, while encouraging prospective learners to attain a postsecondary education.

An Intensive Edaphological Characterization of The Soils of Malambito Experimental Station And Its Implications in Future Agricultural Research

Rubink, William L. 01 May 1973 (has links)
Malambito Experiment Station, in the Atlántico III project area, Department of Atlántico, Colombia, had almost no quantitative edaphological data on which to base agricultural research. Unexplainably low general yields as well as problem areas of deficient plant growth only confounded the results of field plot experiments. Intensive soil sampling and subsequent measurements of pH, ECe of the saturation extract, and the four major cations disproved the previous suggestions that the crop growth problems were related to saline, sodic, or degraded soil conditions. The Ca/Mg+K+Na ratio, although significant when correlated with plant height, was sufficient explanation for only a small portion of Malambito problem. The heavy soil texture (50 percent clay) was also shown to be of minor importance in the overall problem. Although no difinitive answer was given to explain the variations in plant growth, a basis for further research was provided, including estimates of soluble plus exchangeable cations and their field variability, pH, organic carbon, ECe and CEC. Future studies in the areas of micronutrient deficiencies and toxicities and possible resistant crops were advocated. Recent research based on the results of this thesis has now implicated heavy metal toxicity as a probably cause for the growth deficiencies and low yields at Malambito.

Park, Jong-Dal 19 November 2007 (has links) (PDF)

Closon, Caroline 20 March 2009 (has links)

Pennaforte, Antoine 07 December 2010 (has links) (PDF)
