The importance of supplier information quality in purchasing of transport services / Betydelsen av leverantörers informationskvalitet vid inköp av transporttjänster

GORDOS, PYGMALION-ALEXANDROS, BULOVAS, JONAS January 2018 (has links)
An important prerequisite for successful supply chain integration is the ability to convert data into information combined with structured storing and sharing processes. The purpose of this master thesis is to investigate potential relation between supplier data quality and performance of purchasing of transport services. The output of the thesis generates evidence about the imperative to emphasize on the supplier data quality throughout the supplier selection process. A supplier data quality assessment framework consisting of 4 dimensions - ease of manipulation, accessibility, accuracy and completeness, is developed as the core product of this research project. The weights of these dimensions were assigned specifically for the case company - Cramo, to determine the quality score for a selected sample of carriers. A coefficient k1 representing the ratio of transport expenditure over sales was introduced to facilitate the identification of relation between supplier data quality and transport expenditure. Business units served by transport companies with higher quality data displayed a lower k1, consequently, paying less for the transport services in comparison to their revenue than business units served by carriers with lower data quality score. The framework developed is adaptable - dimensions and metrics can be added or excluded according to situational factors and case peculiarities. The application of the supplier data quality assessment framework allows for a more objective and streamlined supplier selection. It stresses on the overall costs experienced during the period of cooperation. The finding regarding the importance of supplier data quality in purchasing of transport services can be nonetheless generalized for other cases when companies strive for achieving better informed strategic decisions.

Det mobilanpassade id-kortet : En behovsanalys och modell för framtida utveckling / The smartphone based ID card : A demand analysis and model for future development

Peterson, Lukas, Johansson, Samuel January 2016 (has links)
Much of the contents and functionality of the traditional wallet, such as membership cards and payment solutions, have been replaced by smartphone solutions. Yet, in Sweden there is no smartphone based solution for ID cards that can be used in the same way as the physical ID card. This paper examines whether the Swedish authorities see a need for a smartphone based ID card solution and, if such a need is identified, suggests a model for how such a solution could be designed. To explore this topic, a literature review and three interviews with Swedish authorities (the E-identification Board, the Police Authority and the Transport Agency) have been conducted. The results of this report consists of three knowledge products: a demand analysis, a requirements specification and an infrastructure model. The demand analysis examines the need for a smartphone based ID card solution, as seen from the interviewed authorities' perspective. This analysis indicates that the authorities see a need for such a solution. The requirements specification consists of requirements for a smartphone based ID card solution, derived from the conducted interviews and Kim Cameron's The Laws of Identity (2005). The infrastructure model is designed to meet these requirements and describes how a smartphone based ID card solution could be designed to fit into the Swedish infrastructure for digital identity management. The model is also designed to follow the design rules for information infrastructure development derived by Hanseth and Lyytinen (2010) and shows that the development of a smartphone based ID card solution in Sweden is technically feasible.

Digitale Editionen als Zukunftsaufgabe für Bibliotheken und Forschung

Bögel, Cornelia 21 December 2021 (has links)
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 6 2.1.1 Entwicklung und Typologie Elektronischer bzw. The possibilities of electronic data processing and of making progressively digitized collections of institutions that act as custodians of cultural assets available on the internet on a ubiquitous scale are moving the relationship between edition and library into the focus of attention. There is an encouraging interest in enhancing the scientific information infrastructure on the basis of library structures to provide „virtual research environments“ with collaborative tools for location-independent work with standardized workflows; and these efforts are currently being promoted and tested in initiatives and projects. After giving a theoretical outline of developments and typologies of digital scholarly editions, this thesis will provide information on currently offered functionalities at the example of selected successful projects. The focus of consideration, however, is on the establishment of a data flow for transferring unique stocks and verified (library) metadata into virtual research spaces. The collaborative pilot project Digitale Briefedition A. W. Schlegel (Digital Edition of the Letters of A. W. Schlegel) between the SLUB Dresden, the University of Marburg and the Center for Digital Humanities in Trier will serve as an example to illustrate such an autograph workflow, based on the open source paradigm, from digitization and descriptive cataloguing of the manuscripts to their presentation in the Digital Collections through to their incorporation into a virtual research environment for scientific in-depth analysis. The process of transformation into a global networked information and knowledge society relies on division of labor and cooperation on a peer-to-peer basis and requires a functional and institutional rapprochement between libraries and the research community.:Abstract i 1 Einleitung 1 2 Hauptteil 6 2.1 Digitale Editionen . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 6 2.1.1 Entwicklung und Typologie Elektronischer bzw.
