51	E "fazer tudo direitinho" : cuidados e enfrentamentos nas políticas de sáude em resposta HIV/AIDS e mulheres Pires, Patrícia Vitória January 2016 (has links) A dissertação inscreve-se nos campos dos Estudos de Gênero e dos Estudos Culturais pós-estruturalistas, em interface com a Saúde Coletiva. Nela, problematizo a feminização do HIV/aids no Rio Grande do Sul, tomando como foco o enfrentamento da doença em mulheres grávidas, e considerando o que está disposto nos textos normativos do Plano Integrado de Enfrentamento da Feminização da Epidemia de Aids e outras DST (BRASIL, 2009), da Linha de Cuidado para PVHA e outras DST do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul (2014a) e em alguns de seus desdobramentos. Os documentos foram examinados na perspectiva da análise cultural; para realizá-la, construí um jeito de olhar e de fazer, operando com alguns conceitos como ferramentas analíticas, entre eles: gênero, cultura, linguagem, educação, além de uma redefinição do termo vigilância epidemiológica. Por meio da realização de um exercício intensivo de multiplicação de sentidos dos termos centrais que nomeiam os dois principais documentos – cuidado e enfrentamento –, construí duas unidades analíticas: mulheres, gravidez e cuidados; e a feminização do HIV/aids e seus enfrentamentos. Através da descrição e análise das posições de sujeito corpo grávido e mãe responsável, foi possível problematizar os modos como a feminização do HIV/aids tem sido pautada nos programas de enfrentamento, quando se trata de mulheres grávidas, destacando-se aí os investimentos das biopolíticas sobre os corpos e a vida das mulheres, que incidem nas formas de cuidar, de enfrentar e de ser mulher em tempos de HIV/aids. / This dissertation is inserted in the fields of Gender Studies and post-structuralist Cultural Studies, approaching Public Health. It address the feminization of HIV/AIDS in Rio Grande do Sul, especially how pregnant women cope with the disease, considering what is provided in the normative texts in the Integrated Plan to Combat the Feminization of AIDS Epidemic and other STDs (BRASIL, 2009), in the Care Guidelines for PLWHA and other STDs of Rio Grande do Sul (2014a) and in some of its consequences. The documents were analyzed from the perspective of cultural analysis, through the conception of a way of looking and doing, considering some concepts as analytical tools, including gender: culture, language, education, and a redefinition of the term epidemiological surveillance. By conducting an intensive exercise of multiplying the meanings of central terms that name the two main documents - care and combat -, two analytical units were established: women, pregnancy and care; and the feminization of HIV/AIDS and how to combat it. Through the description and analysis from the positions of the subjects pregnant body and responsible mother, it was possible to discuss the ways how the feminization of HIV/AIDS has been addressed in the prevention programs of HIV infection, when it comes to pregnant women, highlighting the investments in biopolitics concerning the bodies and lives of women, that focus on ways of protecting, coping with and being a woman in HIV/AIDS times. 52	Mudanças na vida sexual após o sorodiagnóstico para o HIV: uma comparação entre homens e mulheres / Changings in sexual life after HIV serodiagnosis: a comparison between men and women Lígia Polistchuck 05 October 2010 (has links) Após a disponibilização dos antirretrovirais (ARV), a sexualidade dos portadores de HIV/Aids passou a ser mais freqüentemente estudada, especialmente com enfoque na prevenção e no risco. Objetivos: Descrever a vida sexual de portadores de HIV/Aids e identificar as associações da piora na vida sexual após o diagnóstico de HIV com variáveis relativas às características socioeconômicas, à vida sexual, ao uso do ARV e dos serviços de saúde. Métodos: Os dados utilizados procedem de dois estudos transversais com 250 homens e 729 mulheres portadores de HIV/Aids (amostras consecutivas), realizados em dois centros de referência para o HIV/Aids da cidade de São Paulo, entre setembro de 1999 e fevereiro de 2002.A resposta para a questão sobre a mudança na vida sexual, após o diagnóstico de HIV/Aids de cada questionário, foi avaliada e categorizada como piora ou não. A comparação foi realizada entre os grupos de homens e mulheres em relação à piora na vida sexual após o diagnóstico de HIV. Fatores associados foram estimados por regressão múltipla de Poisson. Os testes foram conduzidos em nível de significância de 5 por cento. Resultados: Os homens relataram mais mudança negativa que as mulheres 59 por cento e 41 por cento, respectivamente (p<0,001). Para mulheres, os fatores associados às mudanças negativas na vida sexual, após o diagnóstico, foram: passar por dor ou desconforto físico no atendimento recebido no serviço de saúde, não ser atendida por enfermeiro, dificuldade de falar com ginecologista sobre a vida sexual, desejo de ter filhos/estar grávida, ausência de desejo de ter filhos e abstinência sexual. Fatores negativamente associados foram: renda entre 2 e 4 salários mínimos, via sexual de infecção para o HIV. Para homens, os fatores associados a mudanças negativas na vida sexual após o diagnóstico foram: desemprego e facilidade moderada de falar com psicólogo sobre a vida sexual. Fatores negativamente associados foram: número de parcerias sexuais durante a vida (pelo menos 6) e uso prévio de maconha. Conclusões: Os resultados parecem apontar para uma vulnerabilidade programática elevada das mulheres portadoras em relação ao desfecho, bem como vulnerabilidades individuais e sociais que acompanham roteiros de gênero específicos / After Highly Active AntiRetroviral Treatment (HAART) became available, the sexuality of people living with HIV/Aids has been more frequently studied, especially focusing prevention and risk. Objectives: Describe sexual life of people living with HIV/Aids and identify the associations between worsening in sexual life after serodiagnosis and variables such as sociodemographic, related to sexual life, use of HAART, use and relation to healthcare services. Methods: The data came from two previous cross-sectional studies with 729 women and 250 men living with HIV/Aids in São Paulo (consecutive samples), carried out in two reference centers in the city, between September 1999 and February 2002. The answer to the question about changing in sexual life after the diagnosis of HIV/Aids in each questionary was rated and categorized as worsening or not. Comparison was done between men and women groups that showed worsening of sexual life after serodiagnosis. Associated factors were estimated by Poissons Multiple Regression. The tests were conducted with a 5 per cent significance level. Results: Men reported more negative changes in sexual life after diagnosis than women 59 per cent and 41 per cent, respectively (p<0.001). Associated factors for women were: experiencing pain or physical discomfort when being attended by healthcare services, not being attended by a nurse, difficulty in talking about sexual life with the gynecologist; desire to have children/being pregnant, absence of desire to have children and sexual abstinence. Negatively associated factors were: monthly income of 2-4 minimum wages, sexual infection for HIV. In men, the associated factors were: unemployment, moderate easiness to talk to a psychologist about sexual life. Negatively associated factors were; sexual partnership through life (at least 6), previous or current use of marijuana. Roman&quot / ,&quot / serif&quot / ">Background: The care and treatment for people with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) at the Kagera regional hospital began in February 2005. It is important to evaluate quality of life (QOL) of highly active anti-retroviral therapy (HAART) recipients periodical to assess HAART&rsquo / s effectiveness. This study aimed to assess the health-related QOL (HRQOL) of HAART recipients and determine factors associated with it, two years after the programme had started at the kagera regional hospital in Tanzania. Results: The HRQOL of HAART recipients was generally lower than that of the general population. However, the general health perceptions (p=0.191) and mental health (p=0.161) means score of HAART recipients were not different from those of the Tanzanian general population. About 89% of the HAART recipients reported better health than in the previous years. Chronic diseases were associated with lower HRQOL of HAART recipients independently of other factors. HAART recipients with chronic diseases co-morbidity were more likely to score below the general population&rsquo / s mean score for mental health (p=0.007). While the effect of chronic diseases on HRQOL among those who recorded CD4+ cell increase was negative (OR=13.6,95%CI=3.7 / 49.9), there was no effect on those who did not have such an increase. Roman&quot / ,&quot / serif&quot / ">Background: The care and treatment for people with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) at the Kagera regional hospital began in February 2005. It is important to evaluate quality of life (QOL) of highly active anti-retroviral therapy (HAART) recipients periodical to assess HAART&rsquo / s effectiveness. This study aimed to assess the health-related QOL (HRQOL) of HAART recipients and determine factors associated with it, two years after the programme had started at the kagera regional hospital in Tanzania. Results: The HRQOL of HAART recipients was generally lower than that of the general population. However, the general health perceptions (p=0.191) and mental health (p=0.161) means score of HAART recipients were not different from those of the Tanzanian general population. About 89% of the HAART recipients reported better health than in the previous years. Chronic diseases were associated with lower HRQOL of HAART recipients independently of other factors. HAART recipients with chronic diseases co-morbidity were more likely to score below the general population&rsquo / s mean score for mental health (p=0.007). While the effect of chronic diseases on HRQOL among those who recorded CD4+ cell increase was negative (OR=13.6,95%CI=3.7 / 49.9), there was no effect on those who did not have such an increase. Nela, problematizo a feminização do HIV/aids no Rio Grande do Sul, tomando como foco o enfrentamento da doença em mulheres grávidas, e considerando o que está disposto nos textos normativos do Plano Integrado de Enfrentamento da Feminização da Epidemia de Aids e outras DST (BRASIL, 2009), da Linha de Cuidado para PVHA e outras DST do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul (2014a) e em alguns de seus desdobramentos. Os documentos foram examinados na perspectiva da análise cultural; para realizá-la, construí um jeito de olhar e de fazer, operando com alguns conceitos como ferramentas analíticas, entre eles: gênero, cultura, linguagem, educação, além de uma redefinição do termo vigilância epidemiológica. Por meio da realização de um exercício intensivo de multiplicação de sentidos dos termos centrais que nomeiam os dois principais documentos – cuidado e enfrentamento –, construí duas unidades analíticas: mulheres, gravidez e cuidados; e a feminização do HIV/aids e seus enfrentamentos. Globally, the number of new HIV infections is decreasing but the total number of people living with the disease is increasing. An estimated 5.7 million South Africans are currently living with the disease. The life expectancy of people living with HIV (PLHIV) in South Africa has slowly increased due to the availability of Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART). The progressive "chronicity" of HIV may be associated with a variety of impairments and disabilities for people living with HIV. This emphasising the increasingly important role that physiotherapists play to minimize the disabling impact of the disease and improve quality of life for PLHIV. The aim of study was to determine the HIV/AIDS knowledge, attitudes and the occupational risk perception of physiotherapists practicing in the Eastern Cape Province, South Africa. This study utilized a cross sectional descriptive quantitative survey to collect data. The data was collected via a structured self-administered postal questionnaire. The questionnaires were captured in Microsoft Excel and analysed statistically using CDC Epi-Info version 3.5.1. Data was analysed descriptively and the chi-square test, T-tests and ANOVA was used to identify any statistically significant relationship between variables. The results of the study identified that the physiotherapists in the study have "high" general HIV related knowledge, although major gaps regarding HIV prevention and transmission still exists. The physiotherapists expressed a positive attitude towards PLHIV, while they perceive themselves to be at low risk of HIV transmission risk when managing PLHIV. The physiotherapists with more than 10 years' experience had significantly better HIV related knowledge compared to those with less than 10 years' experience while the attitudes of married physiotherapists towards PLHIV were significantly less favourable than those who were not married. There is a need for intervention strategies to address the HIV knowledge gaps of physiotherapists. Intervention strategies need to address physiotherapists HIV prevention and transmission knowledge. I tidigare forskning framkommer att det råder stigmatisering kring HIV och att vårdpersonal har negativa attityder gentemot personer som lever med sjukdomen. För att minska stigmatiseringen och de negativa attityder som förkommer mot personer som lever med HIV behövs mer kunskap och utbildning kring ämnet. Syfte: Att beskriva upplevelser av lidande hos personer som lever med HIV i Sverige. Metod: Kvalitativ innehållsanalys baserad på självbiografier. Resultat: Fyra teman som beskriver olika upplevelser av lidande hos personer som lever med HIV i Sverige framkom. Dessa var ensamhet, begränsningar i livet, förakt och ångest. Slutsats: Resultatet av den kvalitativa innehållsanalysen tyder på att personer som lever med HIV i Sverige lider. Studien visar att detta lidande skulle kunna vara ett onödigt lidande då den största orsaken till lidandet i studien är bristen på kunskap både i samhället och inom vården hos bland annat sjuksköterskor. Med mer kunskap kring sjukdomen kan bemötandet av personer som lever med HIV förbättras och stigmatisering samt attityder skulle minska. / Background: One of the nurse’s most important task is to relieve suffering. Earlier research reveals that there is a stigma around HIV and that healthcare professionals have negative attitudes towards people living with HIV. To reduce stigma and negative attitudes that exists towards people living with HIV, more knowledge is needed on the subject. Aim: To describe the experiences of the concept suffering from people living with HIV in Sweden. Method: Qualitative content analysis based on autobiographies. Results: Four themes that describe different experiences from people that suffer from HIV in Sweden was found. These were loneliness, limitations in life, disrespect and anxiety. Conclusion: The result of this qualitative content analysis shows that people living with HIV in Sweden are suffering. The study shows that the suffering should not be necessary when the major cause to the suffering in the study is the lack of knowledge in society and in the care of including nurses. With more knowledge about the disease can be an improvement in the treatment of people living with HIV, stigma and attitudes could be reduced. 59	Internally displaced children and HIV in situations of armed conflict in the DRC : a study of the obligations of the government and selected non-state actors Iraguha, Ndamiyehe Patient January 2013 (has links) The mini-dissertation analyses the international law obligations of the government and nonstate actors regarding the protection of internally displaced children living with HIV in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The war and armed conflicts in the Eastern DRC have exacerbated the vulnerability of children, causing them to be separated from their families, to experience sexual violence and forced conscription into armed groups, to experience the violent deaths of a parent or friend, resulting in insufficient adult care. They further are subject to a lack of safe drinking water and food, insufficient access to health care services, discrimination and stigmatisation, and so on. These factors increase their risk of contracting HIV and, if they are already living with HIV, they adversely affect their welfare. The mini-dissertation illustrates that international, regional and domestic human rights instruments protecting children can be applied in situations of armed conflicts to supplement humanitarian law instruments. It demonstrates that the government of the DRC has not implemented and fulfilled its international obligations to ensure these children adequate access to health services and to humanitarian assistance for displaced persons living with HIV; security and protection within displaced persons camps; and that children are protected from abuse and human rights violations.
