[pt] O DEUS VENCEDOR DO MAL: O MAL E A SALVAÇÃO NA LITERATURA PRODUZIDA PELO CATOLICISMO MIDIÁTICO À LUZ DO MAGISTÉRIO DO PAPA FRANCISCO / [en] THE GOD WHO WINS THE EVIL: EVIL AND SALVATION ACCORDING TO WHAT IS PRODUCED BY MEDIA CATHOLICISM BASED ON THE MAGISTERIUM OF POPE FRANCIS

MARCOS MORAIS BEJARANO 27 May 2022 (has links)
[en] This research focus on investigating the way that the problem of Evil is conducted in the largest part of what is called Brazilian Media Catholicism. This concept embraces the expressions of the charismatic movement that, in the last decades, have begun to use the means of communication to expand the reach of its evangelizing action. From this point of view, this aspect of the Brazilian Catholicism offers comfort and an idea of Salvation against the evils experienced by millions of Brazilians. Furthermore, according to the current ecclesial situation, the research takes into account the new moment experienced by the Catholic Church with the pontificate of Pope Francis. This man wishes to encourage a reform of the Church in a missionary way, so that the ecclesiastical institution can rediscover, as its main role, the proclamation and witness of whole Salvation in Jesus Christ. Therefore, after a historical-sociological analysis of the modernization process of the Brazilian religious field (which allowed the emergence of Media Catholicism), as well as the selected texts produced by this religiosity and which are the object of research, the study also intended to critically analyze the material collected in the light of the pope s theology. The goal is to investigate the contributions and contradictions of Media Catholicism to the Salvation proposal announced by Pope Francis, besides presenting alternatives that allow for greater collaboration with his pontificate.

[en] EROS OR THANATOS?: DRUG USE AS A REGULATION OF MALAISE / [pt] EROS OU TÂNATOS?: USO DE DROGAS COMO REGULAÇÃO DO MAL ESTAR

TACIANA CAVALCANTE Y LEITAO 20 May 2022 (has links)
[en] This work aims to analyze the use of drugs as a way to regulate malaise in contemporary times. To this end, a research was carried out with an interdisciplinary proposal and of a theoretical nature, in which authors of different knowledge among the Human Sciences, such as Psychoanalysis, Sociology and Philosophy, and the Health Sciences are listed. With an emphasis on psychoanalysis, we cite texts by classic authors, such as, for example, the Freudians and Ferenczian s in order to make considerations about drug use and contemporaneity, dialoguing with more current authors. In the first chapter of the research, we address Public Health, we discuss Harm Reduction as a resource that helps the subject to deal with malaise, we address the increase in drug consumption during the Covid 19 pandemic and we consider the social aspects, the society of the spectacle and of performance; in the second chapter, we analyze the mechanisms of incorporation and introjection and their connection with the use of psychoactive substances, we discuss the drug s function for the subject, differentiating the modalities of use, the types of non compulsi ve use of the compulsive use of the drug addict, and more specifically, we stop to discuss the phenomenon of drug addiction in the third chapter, the contemporary instinctual expressions of the impulses of Eros and Tanatos, the subject s trauma and object relations are approached, which refer us to the dynamics of the drug object. We recognize the potential harm caused by drugs, especially depending on how it is used, and we realize the important place it occupies in the subject s psychic dynamics.

Is melanoma associated leucoderma (MAL) a distinct entity compared to classial vitiligo?

Elsayed, Marwa A.T.A. January 2015 (has links)
Patients with classical vitiligo lose partially their protecting inherited pigment. The cause of the disease is still unknown. Despite massive epidermal oxidative / nitrative stress and signs for DNA-damage in the skin and in the plasma, these patients have no higher prevalence for sun induced non-melanoma skin cancer and increased photo-damage. Protection and DNA-repair have been attributed to a functioning up-regulated wild type p53 / p21 cascade in association with up-regulated p76 MDM2. As some patients with cutaneous melanoma develop depigmentations away from their primary tumour site post surgical excision, it became of our interest, whether this melanoma associated leucoderma (MAL) is the same as classical vitiligo. The purpose of this thesis was two-fold. In part I, we wanted to further substantiate the reasons behind the constantly up-regulated wild-type functioning p53 / p21 cascade in classical vitiligo utilising a panel of proteins with direct and / or indirect action on p53 regulation, including p21, p76MDM2, MDM4/MDM4phospho, SPARC, VEGF-A and TGF-β1. In part II, we wanted to characterize MAL and compare this peculiar leucoderma with classical vitiligo using the same protein panel and methodologies. To achieve our goals, we used in vivo FT-Raman spectroscopy, in vitro cell cultures, in vitro and in situ immuno-fluorescence labelling, Western blot, dot blot and computer modelling techniques. Our data showed distinct differences between classical vitiligo and MAL. Our results in MAL exhibited a concentration dependent protein expression gradient between the basal / suprabasl layers and the upper layers of the epidermal compartment using catalase, ONOO-, p53, p21, MDM4, p76MDM2, TGF-β1 and VEGF-A expression gradient. Moreover, we document for the first time the presence of a nitrated non-fuctional SPARC protein in classical vitiligo which is absent in MAL. Although we show in vivo considerable ROS / RNS- mediated stress in MAL and classical vitiligo documented by FT-Raman spectroscopy, Western blot and in situ immuno-fluorescence, our results prove that MAL and classical vitiligo are two distinct entities.

Parameters Controlling Distribution of Diagenetic Alterations within Fluvial and Shallow Marine Sandstone Reservoirs : Evidence from the Libyan Basins

Khalifa, Muftah January 2016 (has links)
This thesis demonstrates that geological setting, depositional facies, open system flux of hot basinal brines and descending of shallow waters have a strong impact on the distribution of the diagenetic alterations within continental and paralic/shallow marine sandstones which in turn control the quality and heterogeneities of the reservoirs. Geological setting controls the mineralogical and textural maturity of sandstone, whereas depositional facies control the pore water chemistry (marine, brackish or meteoric), sedimentary texture and sand body geometry. Eogenetic alterations in the fluvial deposits are dominated by precipitation of infiltrated clays, kaolinitization of detrital silicates, whereas the shallow marine deposits are dominated by precipitation of early calcite and kaolinite. Conversely mesogenetic alterations are dominated by clay minerals transformation, quartz overgrowths and Ferroan- carbonates, barite and anhydrite. Flux of hot basinal brines is evidenced by precipitation of mesogenetic minerals that lack of internal sources (e.g. barite, anhydrite and ferroan carbonate cements), which is evidenced by: (1) restricted occurrence of these minerals in downthrown blocks. (2) The high fluid inclusion homogenization temperatures (Th) of quartz overgrowths (Th > 110-139°C), and carbonate cements (T > 80-140°C), which also have light δ18OV-PDB(-17.6‰ to -6.7‰). Flux of hot basinal brines is further evidenced by occurrence of saddle Fe-dolomite along stylolites. Fluid inclusion microthermometry further revealed a dramatic shift in pore- water chemistry from NaCl dominated brines during precipitation of quartz overgrowths to NaCl-CaCl2 dominated brines during cementation by Fe-dolomite. Presence of mixed brine (NaCl+CaCl2) systems in the fluid inclusions suggests flux of descending waters, which have circulated in the overlying carbonate-evaporite successions. The restricted occurrence of oil- filled inclusion to quartz overgrowths and methane to Fe-carbonate cements suggest migration of oil during precipitation by quartz and migration of methane during precipitation by Fe- carbonate cements. The extensive mesogenetic cements in the down thrown blocks is attributed to flux of basinal brines along deep seated faults, i.e. open system diagenesis. Integration of fluid inclusion microthermometry, isotopes, Raman spectrometry and thermal tectonic evolution of basins are essential techniques for unraveling the evolution of basinal fluids, cementation conditions and relative timing of hydrocarbons migration. /

Côté, Robert 08 1900 (has links)
The first verse of Genesis says that in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The world, its form and matter, and time, argues Augustin, arose in Being out of nothing, in one single instant, that of the Creation. Conceived as the coronation of Creation, man, however, quickly breaks the trust relationship with his Creator, and does this by making evil use of a good thing: his free will. Because of its first transgression, says Augustine, humanity will, from now on, bear the mark of sin, which only the redemptive figure of Christ, the Second Adam, can erase, for all of those willing to follow his path. Yet, because of his irrepressible desire to acquire knowledge and experience of the world through his own given being, subject to change, man appears to be perpetually tempted by the transgression of his essential relativity to God. God, however, being the sole creator of the very being of created things, creates all things good, but to a certain degree: evil, which seems to characterize the being and actions of men, in reality, corresponds to varying degrees of goodness, which themselves result from more or less privation of the Supreme Good, namely, God. Berber of roman culture, witness and actor of the last days of Antiquity, passionate thinker and essential theologian, Augustine has produced some of humanity’s most important writings. In this work, we will attempt to understand the context which led to the emergence of his doctrine of original sin.

De Sade, fantôme de la modernité

Tailly, Martin 12 1900 (has links)
This essay examines the relation of de Sade's works with modernity. De Sade is a visionary: he wasn't blinded by the Enlightment, in which he saw an inherent darkness. What some perceived as his madness — the natural reason, the bourgeois reason which he celebrates and exacerbates — is a mirror of our own, a mirror in which our societies refuse to see themselves and their own utilitarian reason, guided by opportunism and self-conservation. This refusal shows de Sade's works as a part of our modernity which we seek to suppress — de Sade as le refoulé de notre modernité. First, this essay looks at the esthetic filiation from de Sade to Baudelaire and, by comparing de Sade's libertine and Baudelaire's dandy, shows how the negative esthetic of Baudelaire presupposes de Sade's conception of Evil as a product of nature and reason, and how it transfigures this conception in such a way that Good can only proceed of this awareness in Evil, through which lies the only possibility to become at once human and lucid. One must always go back to de Sade to understand Evil, writes Baudelaire, who thus highlights de Sade's — or rather a ghost of de Sade, as his name is seldom mentioned in Baudelaire's — key role in this concept of conscience dans le Mal, making him the sine qua non condition of his modernity. The second part of this essay analyzes the notion of petite souveraineté. This borrowed sovereignty, which forbids the real sovereignty, is the product of the libertine's subjection to nature and to Reason, i.e. to the bourgeois and natural Reason. The natural education by which the libertine — he who can only possess by submitting the other to the system to which he consciously submitted himself, the possessed yearning to possess, the man reduced to a ghost who create ghosts himself — wants to dominate the Other(s) is a reproduction for himself of his own subjection. This notion of petite souveraineté confronts a tradition of idealistic critics who see in the libertine the subject of a total liberty, a sovereign subject – and thus who don't notice that the historical meaning of his Reason is laden with consequences.
